Chapter 174 Switching Identity
Chapter 174 Switching Identity
"If you're going to praise the child, just praise the child. Why use two accounts? And these two accounts are even interacting..."
Jiang Manman couldn't help but complain.
Xie Yunxi casually pointed to his two phones and smiled noncommittally:
"Since we've already registered, why not give the child double the fatherly love? Besides, Xie Jian's identity was all over the news in the capital. Those people might not dare to say it outright, but they were probably watching Yan Changye's attitude toward Xie Yunxi's decision to throw a birthday party for Xie Jian."
Jiang Manman paused for a moment: "You're quite the schemer."
"Not bad." Xie Yunxi glanced at the bright sky outside and slowly buttoned her clothes. "Madam, get ready. We're going back to the capital tomorrow."
Jiang Manman nodded: "Okay. You left in such a hurry, have you already taken care of everything at the Xie family's place?"
"As for the Xie family, I'm always here and gone as I please. Disappearing for months is commonplace for me, and the shareholders are used to it." Xie Yunxi's lips curled slightly as he sighed, "They're quite annoyed with me and wish I were gone."
Jiang Manman raised her eyes and looked at him teasingly: "I've heard a lot of rumors about you over the years. They say you're mysterious, your phone is always unreachable, and you can't be contacted on social media. If I remember correctly, Chen Jinzhou was thinking of teaching you a lesson, but he couldn't find you..."
"Well, since I don't use this identity often, there's no need to maintain so many social connections." Xie Yunxi said calmly. "Only Xie Yuheng and my grandfather know my phone number. As for social media, I might not log into Weibo even once a year. I did use WeChat, but only for the first few days after I got married to my wife. I only used it to cultivate our relationship. After my wife blocked me, I never used Xie Yunxi's WeChat again."
Jiang Manman thought for a moment and said, "You don't seem to care much about Xie Yunxi's identity."
"Well, I'm busy enough in the capital, and coming to Hong Kong means I'll have to be separated from my wife again. I didn't really want to get involved in all the big things at the Xie family's place. But my two precious sons are here, so I can't just stay away."
Jiang Manman: "...You brought this on yourself."
Xie Yunxi hummed in agreement: "It was a moment of confusion on my part. Now that my wife knows my identity, and since I'll be spending more time in Hong Kong in the future, she can come along with me. With her by my side, life in Hong Kong won't be so boring."
Jiang Manman thought about her life in the port city during this period.
The local customs and culture, so different from those of the capital, the dazzling neon lights, the diverse street culture, and the international perspective and open attitude all provide her with a constant stream of new design inspiration.
She had been here more than once before, but only this time, because of Xie Yunxi and the two children, did she feel a sense of home here.
She nodded gently in his arms: "If I have time, I'll come with you."
“I can make time even if I don’t have time.” Xie Yunxi sighed. “I really don’t want to go back to the days when I was stationed in Hong Kong and often flew back in the middle of the night to spend time with my wife. It was so hard.”
Jiang Manman: "..."
The private jet took off from the port city the following afternoon.
In a secluded corner of the airport, Xie Yuheng watched Xie Yunxi board the plane with Jiang Manman in his arms, each holding a child's hand, chatting and laughing. His usually cool and aloof expression turned grim.
Beside him, his assistant Li Ke respectfully handed him the itinerary: "Boss, this is President Xie's schedule for the next six months."
Xie Yuheng took it, lowered his eyes to hide the dark light in them, and gave a cold "hmm".
In the evening, the private plane arrived at Beijing Capital International Airport.
As they landed and the hatch opened, Xie Yunxi, who had been chatting idly with the two children, slowly sat up, his peach-blossom eyes quietly falling on Jiang Manman, his tone languid:
"Ma'am, here we are."
The transition from "wife" to "madam" was so natural and smooth that Jiang Manman stood there, stunned.
The dog-man had already stood up, looked at his two little boys in his arms, and smiled:
“Madam, do you also want me to carry you down? That will take a few minutes, let me free my hands first.” Jiang Manman came back to her senses: “No, thank you… Yan Changye, you switch roles quite quickly.”
"Habits become second nature." Xie Yunxi—Yan Changye chuckled, a hint of mischievousness in his voice, "Madam, it's been almost a month since we last met. Do you miss your husband Yan Changye in the capital?"
These words were a little embarrassing. Jiang Manman glared at him awkwardly, not knowing how to respond.
She refused to answer, but secretly reached out and pinched his waist hard.
The man, despite the pain, wasn't angry. He casually grabbed her fingers and played with them, his smile deepening.
I returned to No. 1 Residence that night.
Several construction sites have been completed. The interior wall between Villa No. 1 and Villa No. 2 has been demolished. At a glance, the already huge villas seem even larger. To make it easier for children to run back and forth, a fun-filled running track has been specially designed between the two villas, extending from the garden of Villa No. 1 to the newly dug pond of Villa No. 2.
"I want to go see the Great King!" Xie Jian thought to himself, longing for his giant tortoise. "Grandpa Butler said it lives in the pond with lots of fish, shrimp, and crabs!"
"Go ahead, but don't go too wild. We'll have dinner at Villa No. 1 later," Jiang Manman gently instructed, gesturing to the bodyguard beside her, "Protect him well."
"Ayu," Jiang Manman looked at her eldest son, "would you like to go and have some fun too?"
"I'm not going," Yan Yu replied obediently and softly. "Mommy is a little airsick. I'll make you some juice so you can drink it and feel better."
Jiang Manman couldn't help but kiss him: "Thank you, sweet Yu baby!"
Yan Changye looked at Yan Yu, who was turning to go into the house, and said, "Give Daddy a drink too."
Yan Yu hesitated for a moment, then said, "Okay."
After Yan Yu left, Yan Changye whispered to Jiang Manman, "Find more things for A Yu to do in the future, the busier the better."
Jiang Manman: "...Are you arguing with your son again?"
"What are you thinking? I'm not that bored." Yan Changye pinched her cheek. "Xie Jian is mischievous and playful, but A Yu is different. He is sensitive, aloof and introverted, and often immersed in his own lonely world. I was once very worried that he would become withdrawn. I tried many methods but none of them worked. Only in front of Madam does he act like a normal child."
Jiang Manman felt a pang of pain in her heart: "I understand, I will pay more attention to him."
Yan Changye paused for a moment, "Don't be fooled by his harmless appearance in front of you. Compared to Xie Jian's simple-mindedness, he has a lot more tricks up his sleeve. He'll most likely be a ruthless character in the future. My lady, you may feel sorry for him, but take it easy. Don't spoil him into becoming a little devil."
“How can you talk about your own child like that?” Jiang Manman said disapprovingly. “Ayu is so gentle and well-behaved.”
Yan Changye chuckled softly and remained silent.
The next day, Jiang Manman did not go to the studio.
Xie Jian was still busy visiting the new style of the villa. Jiang Manman and Yan Yu were painting together in the study. Although he was a child, Yan Yu knew a lot. He and Jiang Manman discussed and painted at the same time. Laughter filled the study all morning.
Yan Changye stood at the door of the study, looking at the two who seemed like close friends despite their age difference, his eyes gentle, and did not disturb them.
In the afternoon, after being urged by phone more than ten times at the old house, the family of four set off for Grandpa Yan's villa on the hillside.
