Chapter 175 Training Program

Chapter 175 Training Program
Sun Bei was still not there.

The old butler brought Yan Changye a bottle of fine wine from the cellar and whispered, "Master has instructed that whenever the two young masters come, Madam Sun should avoid them. Madam Sun has been making a fuss about this lately, and she went back to her parents' home in anger yesterday."

Yan Changye gave a nonchalant "hmm": "What has the old man been busy with lately?"

"Mainly, he goes fishing with the powerful figures from those aristocratic families in the capital," the old butler said. "In addition, he spends a lot of time drinking tea with professors from those prestigious universities in the capital, seemingly paving the way for the young masters' education."

The banquet lasted in silence.

Sure enough, at the dinner table, after cuddling and hugging his two little grandsons for almost a month, Grandpa Yan finally got to the point:

"I've had some free time lately, so I've come up with a training plan for Ayu and Xie Jian."

Yan Changye had already guessed the general idea from the butler's words and was not surprised. Jiang Manman, however, looked at the old man with curiosity in her eyes.

"One-on-one tutoring, covering major fields such as finance, science, literature, and philosophy." Grandpa Yan said confidently, taking out several lists and handing them to Yan Changye and Jiang Manman.

Jiang Manman looked down and saw that the list was full of well-known bigwigs from all walks of life, the very top kind.

She looked at Yan Changye blankly.

Yan Changye chuckled noncommittally: "I'm still worrying about how to teach my child pinyin in elementary school, and you've already planned calculus, quantum mechanics, and finance for him. Look at your two grandsons' short legs, do they look like they're destined for greatness?"

"You can't stand anything I do!" Old Master Yan's face turned cold. "The people I arranged for A-Yu and the others are all professors from several universities in the capital and top experts in various industries. I didn't teach you well when you were young, and I will never allow my precious grandson to be spoiled like you."

Yan Changye clicked his tongue lightly: "Me, useless? Do you want to see the Yan family's reports after I took power? Go borrow the Xie family's reports from your brother-in-law too."

"What's so interesting? The Yan family's reports are sent every month, they're all the same." Old Master Yan snorted.

“The Yan Group’s value has increased by thirty percent in my hands.” Yan Changye glanced at him. “Believe it or not, if you want to interfere in the affairs of the Yan Group’s board of directors now, those major shareholders will be begging you not to cause me any trouble.”

"You unfilial son!" Old Master Yan's face turned even uglier.

"I'm not here to argue with you," Yan Changye said calmly. "But with this training program of yours, two little kids who can't even do basic addition and subtraction within 100, you've used up such precious resources as academicians for me. Do you think they're as free as you are?"

"I'm too lazy to tell you!"

Grandpa Yan glared at his son with a dark face, then turned to Jiang Manman, his tone softening considerably: "Manman, what do you think?"

Jiang Manman lowered her head and carefully read through all the pages of the list:
"Dad, have you managed to recruit all the top figures in the education and finance sectors in the capital? I even saw a schedule..."

When Grandpa Yan saw Jiang Manman discussing with him, his expression became more cheerful: "Most of them are people I have visited. They are very respectful about the future heirs of the Yan family and are willing to take the time to give them some extra help. Manman, if the child is exposed to these things from a young age, even if she doesn't understand them at first, her perspective and outlook will be subtly influenced."

Jiang Manman nodded: "I think so too. But... wouldn't it be too much trouble? Many of the professors on the list are already incredibly busy, as they are all dedicated to research..."

"You don't need to worry about that. According to my schedule, there are five classes a week. Even if each person on this list only teaches one class, it would take more than half a year to schedule. On average, each person will only teach twice a year, which is perfectly fine."

Jiang Manman hesitated, then went to see Yan Changye.

"Don't look at that unfilial son!" Old Master Yan slammed down his teacup. "You are the child's mother, you should make the decision yourself."

Jiang Manman looked at the list again and nodded decisively: "I'll do as you say."

Grandpa Yan felt much better: "Manman, don't worry, I will raise two exceptionally good grandchildren!" Beside him, Yan Changye slowly served soup to the children without saying a word.

On the way back, Jiang Manman looked at Yan Changye and asked, "Will you blame me for acting on my own?"

"You are my precious wife," Yan Changye exclaimed. "Not only can you make decisions about the children, but you can also make decisions about your husband."

Having visited the Yan family's old residence, it would be both polite and logical to also visit the Jiang family.

They went to the Jiang family's house the next day at noon. Knowing that Yan Changye was going, Chen Suyan started preparing early in the morning. When Jiang Manman and Yan Changye arrived, a large table of delicacies was steaming hot.

Compared to the old house, the atmosphere at the Jiang family home was much more relaxing.

The Ning family's resources were partially taken by the Jiang family, and Jiang Tiancheng was rarely seen. He only arrived home half an hour earlier than Yan Changye. Jiang Manman saw that although he was extremely busy, he looked radiant, so she was relieved.

Chen Suyan's eyes fell on Yan Yu and Xie Jian: "Manman, the Xie Group held a birthday banquet for Xie Jian a few days ago..."

Jiang Manman nodded: "Xie Yunxi and Xie Jian are as close as father and son, so holding a birthday banquet is nothing."

Xie Jian looked up from his rice bowl: "That's right! Xie Yunxi is also my daddy and grandma, I have two daddies!"

Jiang Che spat out a mouthful of soup: "Little nephew, do you usually call Xie Yunxi Daddy?"

“That’s right! In Hong Kong, he calls Xie Yunxi Daddy, and Mommy calls Xie Yunxi Husband! In the capital, he’s my Yan Changye Daddy and Mommy’s Yan Changye Husband.”

The Jiang family members: "..."

Jiang Che's face darkened: "What are you saying! My sister only has one husband, my brother-in-law, don't talk nonsense."

As she spoke, she couldn't help but explain to Yan Changye, "Brother-in-law, Xie Jian is talking nonsense. You have to believe my sister."

Yan Changye gave an ambiguous "hmm".

Chen Suyan was uneasy and quickly changed the subject: "Ever since I found out that Ayu and Xie Jian are from our family, I haven't had a chance to get to know them properly. How about we have Jiang Che take them to stay at the Jiang family's house for a few days?"

Jiang Tiancheng personally peeled shrimp for Yan Yu and Xie Jian, and then chimed in, "Jiang Che is going to school in a few days. Since we don't have much to do these days, it would be nice for the uncle and nephew to have some fun."

"I'm afraid that won't work." Yan Changye declined gracefully. "My grandfather hopes his grandsons will become successful, so he hired a tutor for them. They will start formal classes tomorrow."

Jiang Tiancheng also pays close attention to his child's education: "I wonder where the teachers they hired are from? I know several top-level teachers and several industry experts with whom I have good relationships."

Yan Changye casually mentioned two names from Old Master Yan's list.

Jiang Che exclaimed in disbelief, "I remember several of the experts my dad knows were students of the professor you just mentioned, brother-in-law..."

Yan Changye: "Oh, I'm not quite sure."

Jiang Tiancheng blushed and said, "Elder Yan, you've gone to a lot of trouble."

He never mentioned the distinguished teachers and industry experts he knew again.
