See the Law of Deception

Chapter 56 The Long Street Slaughterhouse

Chapter 56 The Long Street Slaughterhouse (17)

"One hour?"

Lu Jinzhao was clearly also somewhat surprised.

"Yes." Wei Ling nodded. "I almost thought it was you..."

If she hadn't thought that even in a desperate situation like "out of control," Lu Jinzhao had managed to survive and get her out, she definitely wouldn't have waited outside for a full hour.

"What happened inside?" she asked curiously.

Lu Jinzhao briefly explained her experience, and then asked, "Has no one come up here during this time?"

An hour should be enough time to do something.

"No." Wei Ling shook her head. "Maybe they haven't finished yet."

That seems to have been going on for a while. Is there something that's causing this stalemate?

"Let's go down and take a look."

Both of them completed their tasks, and now they only need to be wary of others targeting them to leave the platform smoothly.

On the way out of the main building, Lu Jinzhao's mind went blank for a while, which was unusual for him.

She had just been through so much danger that she could only steal a moment to let her tired brain rest for a while.

When the two walked out of the main building, the sunlight shone on them again, but when they saw the blood and human corpses scattered on the ground, Lu Jinzhao's expression was still blank.

Her brain was still resting, and it took her a second or two to process what was happening before she realized that something had gone wrong.

"They started fighting." Wei Ling even said that before she did.

“Oh, it seems so.” Lu Jinzhao’s voice was subtly slower than before. Wei Ling noticed the difference, but when she turned to look at Lu Jinzhao, he was no different from usual.

"We'll just stay here and not bother with anything. We should be careful that someone doesn't go berserk."

Who knows, maybe someone will see that the two of them have already completed their tasks and find it disagreeable, and want to cause trouble?
“It looks like a massacre,” Wei Ling said slowly, carefully observing the bloodstains on the ground.

Unfortunately, she stayed with Lu Jinzhao outside the slaughterhouse and didn't see how the massacre began.

I feel like I missed a great show.

Lu Jinzhao didn't feel any regret. In fact, she had expected that a massacre between passengers would break out today.

Based on her thinking yesterday, she would also participate in ensuring that all "threats" were eliminated.

However, having realized her own problems today, she no longer intends to participate in these activities.

Even though she wasn't involved today, the platform mission had already sown the seeds for passengers to kill each other, and the massacre was only a matter of time.

I just don't know what the outcome of this riot will be.

"Who do you think will win?" Wei Ling asked in a low voice, as if he were a thief.

"I don't know." Lu Jinzhao shook his head.

There are too many unknowns, and the biggest variable is the supernatural object.

Without figuring out what supernatural items the other passengers possessed, she couldn't fully predict the course of the riot.

"I hope it's the woman with glasses."

Wei Ling's words surprised Lu Jinzhao somewhat.

"Don't you dislike her?" she asked.

“Yes.” Wei Ling nodded. “But compared to the other passengers, she was the most ruthless and the smartest. She was more likely to survive.”

"Is that so?" Lu Jinzhao blinked, realizing that Wei Ling's perspective on things was indeed quite unique.

The two exchanged a few words, and as time passed, no "winner" approached the main building.

"They won't all perish together, will they?" Wei Ling looked around curiously.

"It shouldn't be that bad," Lu Jinzhao said, not entirely sure.

Surely, this time, only she and Wei Ling can survive again?

She didn't do anything bad today!
Just as Lu Jinzhao was feeling somewhat uneasy, and Wei Ling was filled with curiosity, a figure slowly walked over. The two of them were slightly stunned when they saw the figure, which was almost stained with blood. After a moment of scrutiny, they recognized the figure as a woman wearing glasses.

At this moment, her glasses were nowhere to be found, her hair, which had been neatly tied up, was now disheveled, and her body and face were covered in splattered blood.

Not necessarily.
Lu Jinzhao looked closely and found that the woman's right sleeve was missing. Judging from the break, it looked like it had been neatly cut off by something.

But her exposed arm was completely unharmed.

This doesn't make sense.

Judging from the cut on the sleeve, the arm should have been severed as well.

Lu Jinzhao looked closely and finally noticed something amiss on the woman's hands, which appeared to be soaked in blood.

There seems to be a black tattoo on it?
She was certain that this hadn't existed before.

"Supernatural items?"

It seems this is the only answer.

When the woman walked over, her expression was no longer the smiling one she had before; her demeanor was even described as sharp.

With her other hand, she grabbed a person's arm and dragged the already dead body toward the main building.

When Lu Jinzhao and Wei Ling saw the person's face, they were surprised to find that it was the companion who had been following the woman with glasses from the beginning and was the most obedient to her.

She dragged her companion's corpse slowly toward the main building.

Upon seeing this, Wei Ling immediately realized, "Could it be that her target is the tiger, and her companion's zodiac sign is tiger?"

How did she manage to get this companion to obey her so readily before?

Did they get some leverage over you?

A woman without glasses walked over. She saw Wei Ling and Lu Jinzhao standing at the entrance of the main building. Even though she was a bit disheveled and was carrying a dead body, she still gave them her signature smile: "Could you make way?"

"Uh, sure." Wei Ling walked to the side. For some reason, the woman in front of her gave her a slightly dangerous feeling.

"Thank you."

The woman thanked her politely, then dragged the corpse inside.

After she entered the main building, Wei Ling quietly moved to Lu Jinzhao's side: "What's going on? What's going on?!"

"I have a feeling that something big has happened that we don't know about!"

"Where are the others? Why is it only her?"

"No, I have to go and see."

Sometimes, Lu Jinzhao felt that Wei Ling's curiosity was too strong, but she did not stop her. She just nodded and saw Wei Ling run off in the direction the woman with glasses had come from.

Not long after, Wei Ling ran back, her face showing some surprise.

"Holy crap, they're all dead!" Her voice was no longer hushed.

"You should really see that scene; it's more terrifying than a horror movie."

"If I didn't know that the ghost was in the main building, I would have thought that the place had just been ravaged by a vengeful ghost."

It sounds like the other passengers died in horrible ways.

As Wei Ling was describing the scene with great enthusiasm, the roar of a train suddenly came from afar.

At the same time, the woman with glasses came down.

I don't know what she did inside, but her face was much cleaner, and she put her glasses back on.

Her hand, which had suddenly developed a tattoo, was covered with a torn piece of clothing, as if she didn't want anyone to see it.

"Huh, the car's here?" Wei Ling was puzzled for a moment before saying, "Is that all?"

“Yes,” Lu Jinzhao nodded. “It’s over.”

Now that everyone is alive has completed their mission, shouldn't it be time to end this?
As for not taking the meat back...
Their task was simply to fulfill the butcher's orders; those old men couldn't possibly chase them out of the instance to hunt them down.
