Chapter 36 The Flowers Were Stolen
"Bai Ni, are you feeling better today?" Chao Sheng gently fed Bai Ni a piece of cod and asked in a tender tone.

A faint worry flickered in her shallow eyes. She didn't know what kind of poison the orchid was, knowing that some poisons cause irreversible damage.

Bai Ni paused slightly in his swallowing of the fish, his round black eyes flashing guiltily. "Okay... just a little bit."

Actually, orcs can heal injuries outside their mental sea when they advance in rank, but Sheng Sheng doesn't seem to know that.

So he simply continued pretending, because he really liked the way Sheng Sheng cared about him.

It's because Yinxu found out he was faking illness that he brought back less and less food, forcing him to sneak out to find food after Shengsheng fell asleep.

"Sigh!" Chao Shengzai carefully scanned Bai Ni's face. His complexion looked good, and apart from sleeping more than before, there seemed to be nothing unusual.

"Are you really okay?"

Chao Sheng had heard that some people, even if they didn't show any abnormalities on the surface after being injured, would die quickly due to internal bleeding.

"It's nothing," Bai Ni said lightly, a hint of wariness flashing in her eyes. Why would Sheng Sheng ask that?
Did she discover some flaw?
Or is he really injured and he doesn't even know it?
I feel sleepy all the time these days.

? !
Has he been poisoned and gone mad?

Bai Ni shuddered, buried her face in Chao Sheng's arms, inhaling Chao Sheng's sweet fragrance, and said in a wronged tone, "I don't know either, Sheng Sheng."

"I've been feeling sleepy a lot lately. Do you think I might just sleep myself to death one day?"

"Don't talk nonsense!" Chao Sheng looked at him seriously with a cold face. "No way."

A slender, soft hand touched the orc's smooth, pale back, while the mermaid's cool body temperature fell onto the orca's fiery body. "Bai Ni, I won't let you die."

"Okay." Bai Ni nestled against Chao Sheng's chest, feeling the soft, fragrant little mermaid, a hint of greed flashing in his eyes, his voice hoarse.

The heart pounded, the body temperature fluctuated, and a thin, wispy purple mist enveloped the sturdy killer whale's heart.

……

A group of fierce-looking orcs surrounded the lush green seagrass. They stared intently at all the creatures around them, ready to attack anyone who dared to trespass.

Behind a cluster of yellowish-white corals in the distance, a pair of beautiful, slightly aloof eyes calmly observed them, the slightly long seaweed at the bottom obscuring the glistening fish tail.

Someone has occupied the habitat of the Yu Sheng Hua (a type of wild peony).

Strange, there shouldn't be anyone in this world who knows the function of Yu Shenghua except for her.

Unless... someone let it slip.

His purple eyes darkened slightly, and a faint killing intent flashed within them. Apart from Bai Ni and Yin Xu, only the pair of black butterfly beastmen knew about Yu Shenghua.

The seawater rippled slightly; orcs were approaching.

A massive whale shark stopped not far away, and a stunning female whale shark slowly swam down from its back, landing on the green seaweed on the seabed, looking at the patch of green with satisfaction.

"Have any orcs come by today?"

The orc on guard replied, "No."

Xi Zhi curled her lips into a smile, her proud eyes radiating a confident smile, and her red lips parted slightly, "That's good."

She had, of course, heard the news that the mermaid had saved the orc.

She also found the orc she had rescued; the cowardly and dull male was stubbornly refusing to speak.

Xi Zhi disliked forcing orcs, so he sought out his wife, a thin, black-lipped female.

He promised her that if she told him how the mermaid saved the beastman, she would marry him to a male beastman from her tribe with second-tier superpowers.

The female, eager to become stronger, agreed and recounted in detail how the merman had saved her beast husband.

Following the words of the female Black Butterfly Clam, she found the seaweed patch and even saw the "Holy Flower," rumored to have a foul odor but capable of purifying the spiritual sea. Yes, that's the name Xizhi gave it—sacred, a flower that could save the lives of beastmen.

She picked the few sacred flowers that had already bloomed and gave them to the tribe's shaman for research.

Then send orcs to guard this seaweed patch, and drive away the foreign mermaid if she dares to come.

If they can't be driven away... Xi Zhi's eyes turned cold, and a sinister smile curled at the corner of his mouth. Then he would have no choice but to destroy this seaweed patch.

“Good, you continue to guard this place.”

"Report any developments immediately."

Xi Zhi stroked the new green crystal earring on her earlobe, a smug and alluring smile playing on her lips.

Chao Sheng listened calmly from behind the coral reefs.

When she was looking for Yu Shenghua last time, she saw a few flower buds. Logically, they should have bloomed today.

But she couldn't smell the disgusting stench at all.

Yu Shenghua was stolen by this group of thieves.

Chao Sheng lowered her eyes, pondering what to do.

"A...mermaid..."

A red-haired female orc suddenly swam up to Chao Sheng and looked at her with surprise.

"Who?"

Xi Zhi looked warily in the direction of the sound, and slightly raised his left hand, signaling the two orcs to go and check what was going on.

The two orcs circled the yellow and white coral several times, then returned and shook their heads at Xizhi, "Chieftain, we found no trace of the orcs."

Xi Zhi's face darkened, still feeling strange. His gaze fell on the yellowish-white coral, but apart from some inconspicuous little creatures, he couldn't see anything wrong with it.

After a long while, she finally gave up, saying, "Never mind."

"You continue to keep watch."

"I have something to do, so I have to go now."

From a crevice in a rock behind the yellowish-white coral, "Ugh!"

Hong Lianlian stared intently at the stunningly beautiful female mermaid before her. The close proximity allowed her to fully appreciate the mermaid's allure.

Her mouth was tightly covered by the mermaid, but she seemed completely unaware of the danger. She even took the time to think to herself, "This mermaid actually smells really good. It's sweet and refreshing, and smells wonderful."

As expected of a female from the Rainbow Sea, she's completely different from those country bumpkins from the polar seas.

Once she was sure Xizhi was out of sight, Chaosheng lowered her hand from the red-spotted salmon female. She scrutinized the unfamiliar female, asking, "Who are you? What are you doing here?"

After taking a couple of deep breaths to catch her breath, Hong patted her chest with a look of satisfaction and said, "I...I came here to find you."

"I was planning to go to your house to find you."

"I was really lucky to run into you on the way."

Hong Lianlian looked relieved. Her mother had told her that their red-spotted salmon always had good luck, and now it seemed that was indeed the case.

"Looking for me?" Chao Sheng looked at her expressionlessly, her rosy lips uttering words full of distance, "What do you want?"
