Chapter 107 A Moment of Conflict, Gwen's Confusion
Chapter 107 A Breath of Fresh Air: Gwen's Confusion (Second Update)
"Come on, young man, it's time to show them your RoboCop!"
Tony chuckled and patted 'Two-Husky No. 1' on the shoulder before turning and boarding the Quinjet.
Luca, who was remotely controlling the suit, didn't seem to mind the nickname Tony had given his armor.
But the real mecha pilot, Orange Haro, seems quite dissatisfied with this title.
He took two quick steps and bumped his head against Tony's back.
Yes, it's the one from the motorcycle rider's helmet on the mecha.
The carbon alloy and the titanium alloy of the Mark armor collided, producing a crisp 'duang' sound.
This caused Tony to stumble as he boarded the plane.
Helplessly, he lifted his mask and turned to look at Hello behind him.
"Hey kid, give Uncle Tony some face!"
"It's the Husky! It's the Husky!"
At this moment, Hawkeye, at Nick Fury's prompting, spoke up and asked a question.
"Tony? Aren't you going to introduce this guy to us, um, our new teammate?"
"Why did he repeat the same sentence twice?"
Well, although Luca set up a voice and behavior pattern for Haro in battle mode, it might be due to the influence of the item's concept power, or it might simply be that Luca's skills are lacking.
This voice assistant is always unreliable, sometimes working and sometimes not.
Fortunately, Luca's remote control could also connect to the voice system, and he took the initiative to speak.
"Well, you can call me Hello. As for a more detailed identity investigation? I don't think now is the time to talk about that."
As Luca said this, Nick Fury had already taken his seat in the Quinjet.
I don't know what Loki was thinking this time, but the portal connecting Jotunheim actually opened in Brooklyn, outside of Manhattan Island.
However, Brooklyn is still within the New York area, which is just a short distance for a Quinjet to reach.
Black Widow Natasha Romanoff was distributing wireless communication devices to a few people without armor, while Captain America took over the conversation and looked at Thor.
"Thor, describe the characteristics of our next enemy. What are their weaknesses?"
Upon hearing this, Thor immediately became serious and spoke rapidly.
"The Frost Giant civilization is close to a primitive society, rarely using high-tech weapons, but certain individuals possess frost magic. They have outstanding physical attributes, with immense strength, sometimes surpassing that of ordinary Asgardian warriors. However, due to their race, they are extremely vulnerable to fire; high temperatures can weaken their combat abilities."
At this point, Thor paused slightly.
Feeling the slight chill that still affected everyone even inside the Quinjet, a hint of worry flashed in their eyes.
"However, given the current situation, it is very likely that they have already retrieved the Ice Box, the artifact that can create eternal winter."
That being said, Thor simply couldn't imagine how the Casket of Ice, stored in the Asgardian vault, had fallen back into the hands of the Frost Giants.
'Is Asgard already gone? Impossible! If anything happened to Asgard, Heimdall would definitely have informed me!'
Shaking off the unnecessary worries in his mind, Thor said in a very serious tone.
"If the Frost Giants have truly fallen into the hands of the Ice Casket, they could freeze the entire Earth completely with this artifact in just one or two hours!"
Upon hearing this, the cabin fell into a deathly silence, and everyone's expressions became more serious than ever before.
Even Luca, who was only remotely controlling the robot, knew that he would have to fight with all his might now.
'Damn it! It's a time-limited mission!'
Don't be fooled by Thor's statement of "one or two hours"; he means freezing the entire Earth! If these frost giants are allowed to run rampant, New York might be doomed in no time.
Luca wanted to see the sun rise tomorrow, not the day after.
Let's get back to Luca.
He was still listening to Thor's doomsday presentation remotely.
Meanwhile, Gwen, whom Tony had abandoned, had already brought Eric and Jane, the two unlucky souls who had been suddenly dragged into this mess, to the experimental platform where Tony and Dr. Banner had previously been monitoring the spatial fluctuations.
Although, at this point, further monitoring may be pointless.
But at this moment, besides these things, there really isn't much else they can help with.
After dealing with those two, Gwen returned to Luca's side.
However, seeing that he was listening so intently, I didn't disturb him.
She simply reached out and picked up the white Hello from the ground, then sat down with a somewhat dazed look in her eyes.
This white Haro was originally a replica of the Haro that Luca specially built to pilot the 'Two-Husky Mech'.
However, due to time constraints, many data points were not properly adjusted, and the orange Hello also lacks many of the conceptual attributes inherent in it.
Luca had no choice but to temporarily replace the original orange Haro.
Touching the somewhat stiff and cold white Haro in her arms, Gwen felt a chill run through her heart as well.
'My arrival was a mistake.'
She accidentally killed her best friend Peter Parker in her original world, and in the world of Spider-Man Max, the quantum collider that caused her to travel there almost destroyed the entire world.
Now that I have come to this world, I am facing the crisis of world destruction once again.
Gwen felt like a jinx, bringing devastation wherever she went.
At this moment, she felt a deep sense of despair and helplessness enveloping her.
Rather than waiting here, she would rather rush to the front lines, even if she might die in the battle with those giants.
However, just when Gwen felt that her mind was stuck in a quagmire from which she could not extricate herself.
But a voice woke her up again.
"Hey! What are you standing there for at a time like this?!"
"Go help evacuate the civilians from the building!"
"Don't be fooled by the fact that the battle is far from here. Damn it, the stuff Tony built is toxic. It's such a huge target. The battle might end up over here in no time!"
As he spoke, Luca shouted a couple of times at the ceiling.
"Jarvis! Tony should have installed anti-aircraft defenses in Avengers Tower, right?!"
"Yes, Mr. Orange, Mr. Stark granted you the highest temporary authority before he left. Is it to open the refuge spaces on the third to fifth underground levels?"
"Activate! Stop talking nonsense and just activate it!"
"Yes, sir. In addition, the underground parking garages on the first and second basement levels also have good earthquake resistance. Currently, there are only a small number of Stark employees and construction workers inside the building, and the refuge space is quite spacious. Based on your speculation, I suggest that we proactively accommodate more civilians from the vicinity for refuge."
Hearing Luca and Jarvis's conversation, Gwen's eyes lit up again, as if she had found what she needed to do.
However, before she could even get up and make a move...
Luca snatched the white Haro from her arms, ignoring her expression, and gave the order to the white Haro.
"Hey, Erha, call Aunt Samira for me!"
