Chapter 19 Founding the Nation

Chapter 19 Founding the Nation
In the rabbit's embrace, Zhang Wenda felt as if he were still resonating with the Children's Palace. A sense of grievance welled up in his heart. Why should he suffer this continuous and inexplicable harm when he had done nothing wrong?

However, Zhang Wenda quickly shook off this emotion because he knew that it did nothing but make him feel bad, and no one in society would allow you to show weakness.

"Do you know what to do?" Zhang Wenda asked again.

The rabbit easily released Zhang Wenda. It didn't say anything, but its three-lobed mouth drooped slightly.

Seeing the other person's expression, Zhang Wenda already knew the answer.

That makes sense. Maybe he has some ability, but that doesn't mean he can solve his own problems.

Although he felt extremely disappointed, he immediately pretended to be nonchalant and said, "Oh, it's nothing. I was just asking. It's not like anyone will die. I can handle this little problem myself. I'm leaving now. Goodbye."

After saying that, Zhang Wenda casually waved his hand and walked into the dark stairwell of the tenement building.

When he arrived at his doorstep with heavy steps, he looked over the fence and saw the rabbit standing there silently watching him.

"It's alright, go ahead and do your work, good luck to all the working people!" Zhang Wenda smiled and waved to him.

Immediately afterward, Zhang Wenda saw the rabbit point to its right pocket. "Go to Xinhua Bookstore and ask; perhaps you'll find the answer there."

After saying that, he turned and left.

Zhang Wenda was slightly taken aback, then reached into his right pocket. Soon, a green plastic ticket about the size of a lighter was handed to him, with three characters written on it in traditional Chinese: "Function Ticket".

"What is this? Why did Rabbit ask me to take this to Xinhua Bookstore? Is this the hope of breaking free from the rules?"

Zhang Wenda's eyes lit up; he saw hope again!
The rabbit wouldn't give himself this ticket for no reason; perhaps this is his real hidden reward!

This thing might be able to solve his current big problem; he can't wait a moment longer to deal with the rules governing him.

When Zhang Wenda returned home in high spirits, he was immediately stunned as soon as he opened the door. There was a bowl of noodles on the table that had long since gone cold.

After glancing at the curtain behind the wardrobe and the two pairs of shoes, one for men and one for women, placed in front of it, Zhang Wenda's expression gradually turned cold.

He silently walked to the sofa and quickly ate his noodles, which were clumped together and a bit salty, but Zhang Wenda didn't care. He ate them in big mouthfuls.

A cough came from behind the curtain. Zhang Wenda, whose mouth was bulging, stopped eating. He glanced at the curtain again and then continued eating.

After filling his stomach, Zhang Wenda quickly washed the dishes. After a brief wash, he went straight to bed.

Perhaps because he was too tired today, and because so many things had happened, Zhang Wenda fell asleep in no time. Three soft breaths echoed in the small room.

The next day, Zhang Wenda deliberately woke up very late. When he opened his eyes again, he was all alone in the crowded, old house.

Zhang Wenda got up with a yawn, dressed quickly, and rushed outside, clutching the ticket the rabbit had given him.

He didn't know what it was, but Zhang Wenda had a feeling that the rabbit wouldn't lie to him.

"Besides, yesterday was Friday and today is Saturday. I don't have to go to class. I have two days to deal with the rules and punishments I've been given," Zhang Wenda thought as he walked. As he walked, Zhang Wenda was attracted by a strange aroma. Across the street, he saw a fried dough stick stall, with golden fried dough sticks sizzling in the oil.

"Boss, one fried dough stick, please," Zhang Wenda said, having skipped breakfast.

"Okay! One cent!"

Zhang Wenda chewed on a crispy and fragrant fried dough stick as he walked, thinking to himself, "Not bad, the prices here aren't too high."

Zhang Wenda wondered if it was because the dough sticks had shrunk, but he felt that the fried dough sticks were particularly big and long today.

Just as he finished eating half of it, a dark shadow suddenly jumped out of the grass beside him, making his eyes widen. That black shadow looked so familiar.

With a fried dough stick dangling from his mouth, he walked towards the bushes to the side. After walking for about a minute, Zhang Wenda saw a familiar figure—it was the black cat! The black cat from the children's palace!

Before he could even shout, he saw the black cat breathe on a speeding van and then quickly run towards People's Park on the side of the road.

"Hey! Wait! It's me!" Zhang Wenda called out from behind, but he didn't know if the black cat heard him or not, as it ran away as fast as it could.

Just when Zhang Wenda thought he was going to lose the cat again, he saw it quickly climbing up a nearby utility pole.

Zhang Wenda's gaze followed the other person's perspective, gradually rising until it finally settled on a huge bird's nest on a telephone pole.

It was a very strange treehouse, even in this bizarre world, it was still very strange.

A giant clothes rack, seven or eight meters long, serves as the framework, paired with various urban dry waste piled up to form a top-heavy giant treehouse. Calling it a treehouse is a bit of a stretch; it's more like a bird's nest, but in the current context, it should be called a telephone pole nest.

Just as Zhang Wenda was staring blankly at the treehouse, he saw a slender figure emerge from it. It was a girl, a few years older than him, with short hair, one side longer than the other, looking very casual. Her skin, tanned slightly by the sun, was dotted with freckles.
She was dressed simply, her right hand was completely covered by an animal skin sleeve, and more importantly, Zhang Wenda noticed that there was a cat ear standing on the top of her head.

Zhang Wenda thought he was seeing things, but after rubbing his eyes, he found that the other person did indeed have a cat ear on their head in addition to a normal human ear.

It was only then that Zhang Wenda belatedly realized that the black cat was actually lying in the other person's arms.

When Zhang Wenda saw the other person, the girl also saw Zhang Wenda. She tilted her head slightly towards Zhang Wenda and then went back into the treehouse. Immediately afterwards, a rope was lowered down from inside.

Zhang Wenda scratched his head, but for the sake of the black cat, he grabbed the rope with both hands and climbed up.

After Zhang Wenda finally climbed up, he discovered that there was more than one black cat inside. Looking around, the treehouse, which was only a few square meters in size, was full of black cats playing and frolicking.

"I've heard Coal Ball mention you before. Thank you for saving its life," the girl said, her childish voice carrying a hint of smokiness.

Before Zhang Wenda could speak, the other person extended a hand towards him. "My name is Song Jianguo, you can call me Jianguo, what's your name?"

Zhang Wenda looked at the outstretched hand with some hesitation. This girl gave him a strong sense of aggression, which he didn't really like.
