Mr. Rat of the Steam World

The tentacles of the Old Gods spread across the continent, stifling every potential power to rise, until a traveler from a foreign land crossed over and became the most lowly being in the industrial age: the Gray Rat.

Starting with infrastructure development in the sewers, the mouse grows and develops, eventually becoming the ever-present Sherlock detective, building an underground intelligence network for the mice.
Steam and steel, ancient gods and potions, technology, relics, faith, miracles, magic, dragons... A new era begins, the wheels of time roll in, but what the ancient gods didn't expect was that what would come head to head was a gray rat holding a staff.
