Chapter 438 Arrest
Chapter 438 Arrest
Without a doubt, tonight was the most enjoyable performance by Jun Matsue since he started learning the drums.
The drumbeats stopped, and amidst the waves of cheers from the audience, he stood up, bowed with everyone, and the lights slowly dimmed. A staff member quickly went to the boy's side and helped him move the drum set down.
As he walked off the stage from the side, Jun Matsue looked down at the drumsticks in his hand. The black background was adorned with thorny green patterns. Even after using them for a long time and breaking two or three pairs, he still hadn't grown tired of the patterns and still loved them dearly.
"It's not like we can't fight in the future, it's just that not as many people will be able to see it," he told himself, listening to the excited shouts of the crowd outside the passage.
"I'm a little reluctant to part with Jun-ge," said Miyamura Aya, walking beside him with some regret. "Now we're going to be an all-girl band."
“There’s nothing wrong with an all-female band, is there? It can even be a selling point to attract audiences.” Jun Matsueda smiled.
"It would be easier to move things if Chun-ge were here," Cai-jiang whispered, and the two girls walking in front nodded secretly.
The boy smiled, sighed, and walked out of the passage.
There weren't many people at the back door of the livehouse; they were mostly friends and family of the band members. The show inside the venue wasn't over yet, and you could hear the noise from the next band coming on stage through the open passageway.
Tomatsu Yuka was the first to crowd around, saying, "Matsueda-kun looks really cool tonight; even a lot of boys are calling your name."
"Thank you." Jun Matsueda nodded to the staff of "Denny's Studio" by the roadside, watching them load the drum kit into the car and drive away.
"Some people are probably calling out Aya-chan's name too, but I don't know how it got around."
“It must have been spread by someone from the same school.” Mochizuki Haruka led her aunt to him. “This venue is still too small today. I told you before that it would be better to contact my family’s company.”
“That would be pointless.” The boy smiled again and looked at the girl standing outside the crowd.
Wearing a baseball cap and a mask, with car lights flowing behind her, Yosei Kurusu gazed somewhat distantly at the boys in the crowd.
"What is Kurusu doing standing there?"
The crowd around him immediately fell silent, and Natsumi Imokawa, who had been taking pictures, put away her camera.
"Songzhi, they told me you're in a relationship?"
Seemingly having some difficulty breathing, the girl took off her mask and adjusted the brim of her hat.
"..."
Jun Matsuoka's smiling expression froze instantly, as if a strong wind had swept through, blowing away the lingering drumbeats, stage sounds, and the undulating shadows of the crowd in his mind, leaving only the reality of stepping out of the underground space.
“That’s right.” Jun Matsueda put his drumsticks in his pocket. “You should put on your mask first, it would be troublesome if someone took a picture of you.”
The girl didn't move; she just stood there, staring at him with a blank look.
"So everyone knows? I'm the last one?"
She looked around at the crowd. Tomatsu Yuka and the two members of the Mochizuki family had no surprise on their faces. Imokawa Natsumi looked down at her camera and didn't make eye contact with her. Only the members of the No. 2 band stood to the side, casting puzzled glances at her.
"This is a complicated matter," Jun Matsuoka said, starting to feel a headache coming on.
"Then tell me properly!" The girl raised her voice, startling passersby who looked up.
"Looks like we have to go." Auntie took the hand of the girl beside her, breaking the silence, and winked at Matsueda Jun.
See you next time!
"I was planning to go tonight," Mochizuki Haruka muttered discontentedly, and followed the woman away.
"Then I'll head home first." Tomatsu Yuka waved to the boy. "Matsueda-kun, be careful on your way home. See you at school tomorrow." The three left without looking back, leaving behind the bewildered band girls and the innocent photographer.
Jun Matsueda sighed and walked up to the girls. "I enjoyed the performance tonight. I hope you can continue to work hard with my support."
"I won't be attending the victory celebration banquet or anything like that." He glanced at Kurusu Yosei, who was eyeing him menacingly. "Aya-chan, please eat more for me."
Miyamura Aya watched as the boy and girl got into a taxi and quickly disappeared at the end of the road, while Sachi patted her shoulder beside her.
"What's going on with your brother? Wasn't he supposed to be dating Yamami-senpai? It seems like their relationship is a bit complicated."
"Anyway, he'll handle it," the girl said, her tone tinged with helplessness.
"Many bands fall apart before they can achieve greatness because of relationship problems," Izumi Mizuki said in a very serious tone.
"That's fine then." Aya Miyamura waved her hand.
"Nobody's eaten yet, so let's call Kazane-chan too; she's probably still inside watching the show."
She looked at Natsumi Imokawa, the girl holding the camera looking somewhat bewildered.
"Is Sister Imokawa leaving too?"
"I...I originally wanted to continue filming," the girl said weakly.
The speeding taxi stopped at the intersection in front of the apartment, and the two people who hadn't spoken a word the whole way got out of the car one after the other.
Matsueda Jun glanced at Kurusu Yosei, who had just closed the car door. The girl had an unusually blank expression, her eyes hidden in the shadow of her hat brim, carrying an autumn chill.
"Looking at me won't help." The girl glanced at him. "You'd better tell me the truth when you get home."
Matsueda Jun pursed his lips. Kurusu Yosei, who usually had a cheerful and energetic expression, suddenly turned cold and aloof, which made him feel a little uneasy.
The boy turned and walked toward the apartment, but was stopped after only a few steps.
"and many more!"
He turned around, and Lai Xiyang walked quickly across the street. She walked to the oden cart that the two of them used to frequent, said something, and then returned to the boy with a bag full of oden, her steps still filled with anger.
"Get it!"
The girl's hand, which was gripping the bag, struck Matsueda Jun in the chest, but he caught it with lightning speed and looked up.
"For me?"
"You haven't eaten yet?" the girl said irritably. "Eat the oden when you get home, so you don't make up some excuse about being hungry when I ask you about it later."
Matsueda Jun suddenly felt that the "interrogation" that was about to begin was not so difficult to endure.
However, he soon realized that it was just an illusion—Kurusu Yosei was sitting across from him at the table, staring intently at him. The boy could even feel the girl's gaze following his every move.
Matsueda Jun slowly finished his oden, but the girl impatiently got up, took his bowl away, threw it into the kitchen, and quickly sat back down in front of him.
"Now you can give me a proper explanation." Laixi Youse tapped the table forcefully with his knuckles.
"What's going on with your girlfriend?"
