Warhammer 40: Doom
Chapter 294 I Will Return
Chapter 294 I Will Return
The Judgment Sword pressed forward, and Birac dodged to the side, but the blade still sliced open its face, blinding the demon prince's right eye and severing its horns at the root.
"Roar!!!!!"
Bilak was enraged and let out a roar that was a mixture of pain and rage, which shook the battlefield.
The devil's horns are a symbol of the devil's power and strength; such an overwhelming humiliation is like a man being castrated!
The shadow demons fighting the army heard the ominous roar from the center of the battlefield and knew that the outcome was already decided; in an instant, all their fighting spirit vanished.
Sensing something was wrong, the cunning demon vanished into the shadows, hiding behind his comrades. He then used a reverse summoning array to slip away, hoping to seize the opportunity to escape before the full retreat could begin.
Demons are treacherous and cunning, devoid of any honor; survival and destruction are their very instincts.
When the battle is going well, they slaughter indiscriminately; when they are at a slight disadvantage, they flee immediately.
The same is true of Birac; it has lost its eyes and horns, and its roar is deafening, but it has no desire for revenge.
It lost sight in its right eye, and the injury, which should have healed quickly, showed no signs of healing on its own, with black blood flowing out continuously.
With his left eye darting around, Birac stared intently at the god-slaying weapon in the god-slayer's hand the instant they passed each other.
That cursed blade, a weapon rejected by the gods, severed its own concept; its "right eye" and right horn disappeared from its body forever.
Even if the wounds heal, the concept of erasing the god-slaying weapon will not reappear.
In other words, Bilake is blind in its right eye, and no matter what methods are used, it is difficult to restore its right eye vision.
Birac has existed for countless ages, and it does not want to lose its life in an invasion.
It yearns for revenge, for the god-slayer to pay the price for wounding the great Bilak, but not now.
"This is your final resting place!" Doom roared, his voice terrifying the demons, as he prepared to kill Birac!
He used his backhand force to bring down the raised Judgment Sword, as if to cleave the First Demon Prince in two.
"Godslayer," Birac responded with hatred and curses as the deadly attack came, but instead of panicking, he uttered a harsh threat: "We'll meet again someday!"
Doom knew things were going badly; Bilak was already preparing to escape.
Sure enough, the moment they passed each other, Bilak advanced instead of retreating, flapping his bat wings and rushing towards Doom, pulling him into his arms.
As expected of the First Demon Prince!
Birac made a decision in an instant, an absolutely correct and wise choice, ensuring his survival.
Its arms tightened, using its body to restrict the god-slayer's movements, desperately seeking a chance to survive.
A powerful force came, and Doom was pulled into Bilak's arms, his waist held by the demon's arm.
Seeing that he could not break free for the time being, he tried to stab back with his sword, only to find that his armpit was blocked by Birac's shoulder, making it difficult to swing downwards.
Out of the corner of his eye, Birac flew toward the rapidly approaching summoning circle, trying to escape the real universe. Doom also heard the Demon Prince's triumphant growl:
"I have traversed the subspace for countless years, encountered numerous powerful opponents, and even challenged the gods, yet I am still alive today."
Seeing that his opponent's movements were restricted and he could not exert his power, and that the magic circle was getting closer and closer, Birac needed to make a name for himself.
Doom remained silent, his left hand spread its five fingers, and the Star God Flame surged from the palm of his arm armor.
In a fraction of a second, he swung his hand back and pressed the arm armor onto Birac's back!
"what!!!!!"
Another scream rang out as Birac coughed up pitch-black demonic blood, as if a star had suddenly pierced through his body.
"The power of the laws of physics..." Its voice gradually weakened, knowing the source of the scorching heat.
Doom bathed in demonic blood, his dark eyes meeting the demon's gaze. His left hand pressed deeper and deeper, the Star God's flames burning Birac's flesh and blood, running rampant within its body.
Flame. From ancient legends, it has been used to burn demons with high temperatures and purify unclean things.
Star God – Niadrasar the Burner. He is flame himself, the embodiment of the will to destroy, and a symbol of inextinguishable heat.
The flames of the Star God can burn everything in the world, and conceptually, they can also destroy demons.
In a mere half-second, the demonic power on Birac's back dissipated, crumbling like dust, and half of his torso vanished into ashes.
Nevertheless, it clung even tighter, letting the flames burn its body, clearly knowing that turning back would only lead to its death.
Two extraordinary beings, entangled in mid-air, plummeted towards the summoning circle amidst flames and smoke. "Follow me, let's help the Father of Genetics!"
Obelisk roared through the mental link, his tall figure leading nine brothers to form a small team and charge toward the summoning circle.
Ten warriors brandished their weapons, piercing through the demon formation, their figures transforming into black lightning as they continuously fired their weapons.
Dimensional rays struck him, relentlessly slicing through his body. The membrane of Birac's Demon Wings tore apart, his spine was shattered, and his lower limbs scattered through the air.
It still wouldn't let go; its will to survive had reached its peak, and it was now very close to the summoning circle.
Doom's left arm burned through Bilak's right chest, revealing the pulsating demonic heart that provided power to his body.
He showed no mercy, turning his palm into a claw, and crushed the demon's heart in his hand.
With its source of power gone, Birac vomited black blood once more. Its body was riddled with holes, its heart crushed, and it was so weak that it didn't even have the strength to groan.
"Cough cough..." Blood gushed from the Demon Prince's mouth and nose, his remaining left eye glazed over, yet a smile appeared on his狰狞 (zhengning - ferocious/hideous) face as he weakly said, "Looks like I can escape..."
The two of them spun around as they fell from the sky, their target the burning demon magic circle.
Doom's eyes were icy, but his tone was a thousand times colder. He grabbed Birac's black spine with his backhand and tore off the demon's lower body.
“You lowly wench…” Birac’s consciousness was fading. Before his consciousness sank into chaos, he gave the mother insect a final order: “Close the portal, then self-destruct.”
The insect queen remained motionless; she did not want to carry out the suicide order.
For victory, she submitted to the power of destruction; for victory, she sacrificed countless offspring; for victory, she offered up her dignity.
All of this is a victory. How could she willingly become a pawn abandoned by the power of destruction in order to escape her fate of death?
Perhaps sensing his disloyalty, Birac decisively used his superior authority to forcibly manipulate the will of his followers: "Quick! Strive for my survival!"
Faced with the demands of her superiors, the loving mother, who worshipped the Shadow Lord with both body and soul, had no power to resist. Her body responded to Bilak's request and began to shut down the demonic magic circle.
Her body, filled with shadow power, began to expand gradually, and the soul of the Alpha+ level psionicist began to annihilate itself.
If she is not stopped, the subspace power, now free from the constraints of her soul, will sweep across the entire battlefield with unstoppable force.
"Begin the retreat," Doom ordered via telepathy, instructing his troops to immediately leave the battlefield.
"Retreat!" the Doomsday Warrior roared in the midst of battle, conveying the Primarch's will to his allies before activating the conventional lasso.
The same applies to the Imperial Guard and the Night Guard; upon receiving the order to retreat, they activate the transmission lasso to take turns providing cover during their withdrawal.
As the human troops vanished in white light, the Shadow Demon breathed a sigh of relief, then descended into chaos.
They scrambled to escape, rushing towards the demonic magic circle, not wanting to stay in the real universe for even a moment longer.
Seeing the portal so close yet unable to break free of his restraints, Doom spoke through the telepathic link:
"There is a solution under the throne. Give it to Felus. It concerns this battle, so please make sure he handles it according to my plan."
"Command of the fleet is transferred to Atum. If the Steel Hand Legion Primarch disagrees, we will handle the follow-up matters ourselves."
"I will be back soon..."
Leaving behind his final message, he was led into a demonic magic circle by Bilak and disappeared from the real universe.
The Obelisk squad did not leave. They kept moving, and no demon dared to stop them. They rushed to the magic circle and leaped into the warp, following the Father of Genetics.
The magic circle immediately shut down, leaving behind a dark shadow demon that could only watch helplessly as the mother's body swelled into a sphere, about to detonate the spiritual energy within her.
They ceased their restlessness and quietly awaited the moment when their physical bodies were destroyed and they returned to the subspace.
thump~
After the Nur army and the Imperial Guard withdrew, the world of Ghana trembled violently, a fierce warp force erupted, and then began to collapse inward.
Deep beneath the planet's surface, the Mother self-destructed, tearing open a subspace rift that, like a black hole, devoured the entire planet, dragging the debris, demons, and millions of automatons into the subspace.
In just three minutes, the planet completely disappeared from its original orbit, leaving no trace, as if it had never existed.
Atum immediately took command of the fleet, contacted the Primarch of the Steel Hand, and relayed the Primarch's message.
The war against the Shapeshifters is not over yet; destroying the alien homeworld is only a partial victory.
