Armored train in the apocalypse
Chapter 67 The 1rd Transaction
Chapter 67 The First Deal
The third brother gave his two brothers a look, and the three of them immediately leaned against the train wall.
He placed the gun against the car window, watching the outsider warily.
Su Huan squinted and sized it up for a moment, then said calmly, "Relax, it's probably just a lone wolf passing by..."
Before the words were even finished, the other party began to slow down and stopped next to the train.
Su Huan was stunned. How could a car dare to approach his train so recklessly? Was it because the other party had too much faith in humanity after the apocalypse, or did they have some kind of fearless courage?
"what?"
However, the wasteland-style modified car quickly caught his eye.
The car body is mainly divided into two parts. The front body is a modified SUV, and an extension has been added to the rear. The most unique thing is that a sedan shell has been added to the roof, which gives the interior enough height that you should be able to stand up inside without any problem.
The lower car window is blocked by a curtain, while the upper car window is open, which protects privacy without affecting the amount of light.
The rear of the vehicle is a trailer, which should be carrying supplies or similar items.
The car was modified very roughly, but it had a unique aesthetic appeal.
It looks a lot like those weird and wild modified cars from my past life.
The train door opened, and a young man of similar height to Liang Kuan stepped out, raising his hands to indicate that he meant no harm, and walked step by step toward the train.
Although he still had some stubble on his face, he had clearly groomed himself recently, and his clothes were not too disheveled.
Standing five meters away, the young man called out, "I wonder if we could make some exchanges?"
Su Huan rested his hand on the car window, where pale blue arcs of electricity flickered intermittently.
She looked at him with interest. "I'd like to know, what brought you closer to me?"
The young man paused, avoided the question, and said sincerely, "Perhaps I have something you need."
"A bold attempt?" Su Huan's eyes flickered as he looked at the vehicle behind him. There were other people inside, probably another evolved being.
Perhaps it's a perceptive type, able to sense whether they have malicious intent.
Although it sounds a bit far-fetched, anything is possible in the end times.
What do you have to offer in exchange?
Su Huan did not dwell on this issue.
However, he was not optimistic that the other party could provide what he needed. Although the passengers would not bring him anything in addition to supplies, each person would bring some small items here and there, and by now they had managed to gather several carriages' worth of miscellaneous items.
The young man pulled a folded map out of his pocket. "This is a map of Yijin ahead."
Su Huan's expression shifted.
Maps are valuable in the apocalypse, and the passengers knew this, so none of them turned in any maps they found.
There was only one railway map on the train, located in the driver's cab.
Yijin was the first city they were going to enter in Qingchuan Province, and it has to be said that the other party presented something that appealed to them.
But his expression remained unchanged. In this kind of barter transaction, the more you care, the more you'll be ripped off. He calmly asked, "What do you need?"
The young man's expression shifted slightly, and he licked his dry lips. "I'd like to exchange some repair tools. If you have any leftovers, some water would be even better."
Su Huan nodded. "Sure, as long as the map is correct, I'll give you a complete set of common car repair tools, and I can also give you two 550ml bottles of purified water."
There's not much else on the train, but plenty of tools.
Moreover, the fire truck was carrying a lot of professional tools, so many pliers, wrenches, and screwdrivers that there was nowhere to put them. He even wanted Xiao Ba to melt them down and turn them into steel plates.
Now is the perfect time to get rid of some of them.
The young man approached the train and slipped the map through a gap in the explosion-proof netting.
Su Huan took the map, unfolded it, and glanced at it. There were no stains or wear, and all the data was clearly marked. He nodded in satisfaction and said, "Third brother, go get the things."
The third brother put away his gun to retrieve his belongings, while Su Huan struck up a conversation with the young man. "How's things going in Mojiang City?"
The young man looked surprised, his eyes clearly saying, "Didn't you just escape too? Why are you asking me?"
But in order to make the deal go smoothly, he replied, "It's terrible, especially these last two days. There are fires, zombies, and withered plants everywhere, and explosions can be heard in the city from time to time."
Su Huan gestured with his chin towards his car and chuckled, "Looks like you've been preparing for this for a long time?"
The young man looked bitter. "I started running when the apocalypse broke out, and I almost didn't make it out."
"Interested in joining me? The train is much sturdier than your little car."
Su Huan extended an invitation.
"No, I'm going west."
The young man resolutely refused.
“Going west… that’s not a bad choice either,” Su Huan said with a light laugh.
After exchanging a few words, the third brother came over carrying a box, opened the car door, and handed it to the other person.
The young man stuffed two bottles of mineral water into the pockets of his work pants, opened the toolbox, and looked surprised to see all the neatly arranged tools inside. He then closed the lid and stood up.
With a hint of gratitude in his eyes, he said, "These things are worth more than the map. Here's another piece of information for you: the Mojiang Mutual Aid Team is behind us, and they might not be very friendly."
Su Huan stopped forcing a smile, nodded calmly, and watched the other person get into the car and leave.
What did they say in the car?
Yu Yue, standing to the side, had a somewhat subtle expression. "His wife is in the car. She said... You see, there are still good people in the apocalypse."
"Good guy?"
Su Huan chuckled to himself.
He is generous in showing kindness to those who can help him, which often brings unexpected surprises.
Su Huan's goodwill was conditional.
They have ulterior motives and hope to gain something in return.
He never hides this fact.
As for the Mojiang Mutual Aid Team, he didn't take it to heart. Not to mention Juan's group that he had killed, even if it were the team at its peak in his previous life, it wouldn't be worthy of being a match for the armed train.
Turning around, he walked towards the front carriage. Yu Yue followed half a step behind him, and the three brothers followed behind like bodyguards, surveying the potential dangers inside and outside the carriage.
It has to be said that everyone got into the story quite quickly.
Su Huan suddenly asked, "Have you ever handled a gun?"
Yu Yue stretched out her fair, delicate finger, pointed to her nose, and said blankly, "Me?"
Then she suddenly remembered Su Huan saying that she was suited to be a sniper, and felt a little uneasy. "No."
"Third brother, bring that sniper rifle and the bullets too."
"clear."
The third brother ran a few steps faster, while Su Huan continued walking forward. Because of the nature of the train's space, you could basically see what everyone was doing after walking around once.
Huang Hai and Xiao Wang were busy in carriage number seven, preparing for the carriage farm.
The cooks ran back and forth, hauling large chunks of snake meat to the back of the cart to prepare dinner for the passengers that day.
The train has two dining cars in total. The one at the front is the VIP dining car, while the regular dining car at the back has never been used. Now that there are chefs, the meals for regular passengers can be separated from those in the front.
The door to carriage number 4 was tightly closed; Liang Kuan and Xiao Ba were probably catching up on sleep.
