Doomsday America
Chapter 11 6 second
Chapter 11 Sixteen Seconds
Unlike Madison, who was visibly tense.
Gavin seemed more relaxed at this moment.
As he maneuvered the car away from the parking space, carefully avoiding other vehicles and driving out of the parking lot, he smiled and said to Madison.
"What kind of music do you like, or do you listen to Bruno Mars and Imagine Dragons like me?"
"What?" Madison was so nervous that he didn't hear clearly.
"Do you listen to Imagine Dragons' songs or not?"
"What Dream Dragon?" Madison continued to mishear.
"Fuck, you can relax now, buddy!"
Gavin slapped Madison on the head and then said to him.
“This place is at least 180 meters away from the last gathering point of the zombies. It will take them at least 25 seconds to run over when they hear the sound.”
"Don't think I don't know that in past matches you've always complained that my tactics are too long and tedious."
"Let me tell you, the reason I made so many plans was so that I could be as relaxed as I am now when it comes to taking action!"
At this point, Gavin slammed on the gas, causing the Tyrannosaurus Rex to roar excitedly.
Startled by the roar, Madison looked around frantically, only to realize then that the car had already left the parking lot and was even speeding all the way to the manor gate!
The moment the Tyrannosaurus Rex roared and charged out of the manor, Gavin raised his hand and turned on the music, and a high-energy dance track instantly filled the air.
As he lowered his voice, Gavin continued to laugh at Madison.
"Guess how far we can run in twenty-five seconds? Look closely, only sixteen seconds have passed, just sixteen seconds!"
"That's my style. I like to leave the tension in the observation period and then kill the pressure of action with caution."
"Fuck the party villas, fuck the zombie apocalypse, go eat our exhaust fumes!"
"By the way, what do you want to eat later? I'd like a fuck burger."
"Another large Coke, with double the ice!"
"Uh... ah?"
After a brief moment of disorientation, Madison was influenced by Gavin's excitement and ease, and the tension gradually faded from him.
As he responded to Gavin, he kept turning his head, constantly observing his surroundings.
It wasn't until he used the scattered streetlights to confirm that the scene around him was indeed the forest receding, and not his own hallucination, that he realized what was happening.
He finally relaxed, then slumped back in the chair and let out a long sigh.
"Phew... Wow, we're out?"
"Damn it, we escaped so easily. I thought we'd run into all sorts of trouble when we got on the bus, like in the movies, or zombies pounced on the windows."
"I've already planned it all out. When the time comes, I'll kick all those filthy bastards away with my feet, then let you dodge, and then I'll use the shotgun to blast the zombies off your car window too."
"Then, just as a large number of zombies were about to completely surround the car, you stepped on the gas and sped out of the zombie horde, so that we could celebrate our escape with zombie blood all over our bodies!"
At this point, Madison rolled down the car window and spat out a mouthful of sour-smelling saliva.
He was too embarrassed to say that he had been so nervous that he felt nauseous and even felt acid reflux rising to his throat.
In the driver's seat, Gavin glanced at Madison for a moment, then shook his head noncommittally.
That's just Old Mai's personality; he's always on edge, but he relaxes once he's sure it's safe.
As for before safety is confirmed?
Those who truly want to win can't laugh.
After mentally cursing Old Man Mike, Gavin continued to adjust the music, lowering the volume to almost a whisper.
I looked through Mike's playlist again, and well, eight out of ten songs on Mike's playlist are rap, which is in line with Mike's style.
While Gavin played two songs, Old Mike was still excitedly chattering away.
"Gavin, you're my lucky star! Our run went so smoothly, haha!"
"I watched for a long time, and before I left, I didn't see any zombies catch up with us, or even a shadow of a zombie."
"Oh right, what did you just say? Oh right, I am a little hungry."
"The hamburger is really good. I usually don't dare to eat it during training, but now I can eat it whenever I want."
"And iced cola, that's so fucking cool!"
"Wait, didn't you ask me to call home for you? Give me the phone, I'll call your parents right now."
"There's no hope for my family, buddy. None of my family members have called me back, and none of my cronies have heard from me either."
Where's your phone?
At this point, Old Mike extended his sweaty hand to Gavin.
Gavin casually tossed the iPhone 5 over.
"The password is four nines. Just find my parents in my contacts." "Besides the two of them, there's no need to contact anyone else."
As soon as he finished speaking, Gavin turned the car around and left the villa area onto the main road.
The owner's estate is located near Itasca, far south of Dallas, more than 40 kilometers away from the Dallas and Fort Worth areas.
At that distance, even if Dallas were bombed into ruins, Gavin wouldn't be able to detect it.
Besides, he didn't want to figure out the situation in the city.
What could he and Mike possibly understand? Didn't they get enough of seeing three hundred zombies running? Did they want to go to Dallas to see the massive spectacle of six or seven million zombies running together?
Stop messing around. Even if you're looking to die, you wouldn't do it like this.
For Gavin, he had long ago designated many major cities as off-limits.
Unless there is a compelling reason to go to the city, he would rather live out his days hiding in the Texas wilderness and small towns than take a stroll on the outskirts of a big city.
As he thought of this, a cold breeze blew from the passenger seat, making Gavin's forehead feel slightly cool, which made him feel a little more awake and invigorated.
Wait, a cold wind?
"Roll up the car window, you idiot!"
Gavin quickly yelled at Madison, then continued to observe the road conditions.
After being yelled at by Gavin, Madison rolled his eyes noticeably, then sheepishly closed the car window.
The 2013 Super Bowl tipped off on February 3rd, and the Cowboys held a parade and celebration immediately after winning their fifth championship. Today is only February 6th.
In February, nighttime temperatures in Texas drop to almost 4 degrees Celsius, and Gavin drives quite fast, so the cold wind can be a bit too strong.
If it weren't for the worry of getting sick, Gavin would actually like to get some fresh air; at least the cool breeze would make his brain, which had been ravaged by alcohol and stress, feel much better.
Without the stimulation of the cold wind, and with the car's warm air hitting her face, Madison's eyes became a little blurry.
He looked down and fiddled with Gavin's phone, then solemnly handed the unanswered call to Gavin.
"Sorry, Gavin, I can't get through on the phone."
"It's okay, I'm not surprised. Go to your contacts and call a few more people with the nickname 'Cowboy'. They all work at my house."
"it is good."
Madison nodded and continued dialing, then remained silent for more than two minutes.
Just as Gavin began to slow down with a blank expression, Madison sighed with empathy and handed the phone back to Gavin.
"Feel sorry."
he said.
Gavin put the phone in his pocket and replied.
"It has nothing to do with you."
After saying that, Gavin pointed to a gas station a hundred meters ahead and continued.
"At least we've reached the nearest gas station."
The car continued to slow down until it stopped in front of the gas station.
The gas station was unusually quiet, and Gavin couldn't see anyone except for the broken glass on the side of the convenience store.
Gavin frowned as he looked at the broken glass and said.
"If the gas station and convenience store worker hadn't turned into a zombie, there would be no need for him to smash the glass and run away."
"If he turns into a zombie in the store, then they would at least need to find a worthwhile target to chase before they could smash the glass and leave the convenience store."
Gavin glanced in the direction of the broken glass.
The broken side of the glass was pointing directly at the road Gavin was about to take.
Gavin then continued.
“Old Mike, I’m afraid there are others who ran this way before we did after the zombie outbreak.”
"The convenience store employee was probably attracted by the noise, which is why he broke through the glass on that side and chased after them."
"That's great! It's so good to know that there are still other people alive!"
Madison immediately exclaimed excitedly.
"Even though we escaped, I don't want to face an apocalypse where only the two of us survive!"
"Damn it, if we can put together a team like the main characters from The Walking Dead, at least I'll have a few underlings to boss around."
“Unlike now, buddy, if it were just the two of us, I'd be stuck being the underling forever, haha… uh…”
"Ahem, it's not that I'm unwilling, I mean, I know you're always right, and being with you will make my life better."
"But even if I don't want to be the boss, I still like to have a few followers and underlings to boss around..."
At this point, Madison hugged his shotgun tightly and looked around through the car window.
Then, he looked out the window and said to Gavin.
"Let's change the subject. So, what's the plan next, Boss?"
