Mystery: The Last Shepherd
Chapter 308 Luna's Reminder
Chapter 308 Luna's Reminder
After finishing his morning tasks, Lu Ze toured the neighborhood again and assigned Xia Er to conduct research on setting up a factory, including factory buildings, machinery, and sales channels. As for the latter, upon hearing that he was planning to set up a factory, he thought it was a chance to make a lot of money and became very enthusiastic, but let's leave that aside for now.
After settling in, he planned to go to Audrey Hall and discuss the possibility of setting up a factory with her.
Lu Ze walked a few steps toward Queens, then turned back and stopped in front of a fish and meat stall on the side of the road.
I almost forgot, there's a little one at home who's crying for food, waiting for me to come back from my "hunting".
How much is the fish?
"Fine fresh herring, only 3 pence a pound!"
The stall owner said enthusiastically, with many live fish swimming in the large pool in front of him, "You can pick them directly, they're sold for 7 pence each!"
The fish in the tank were all around two pounds each, so 7 pence was considered a high price. Thanks to well-developed shipping, fish wasn't expensive and was a source of meat that ordinary people could afford.
"Give me this one."
"no problem!"
The stall owner deftly scooped up the fish with his chilblain-covered hands, stunned it, and then said to Lu Ze, "Sir, you don't seem to be short of money. I can also offer additional services: scaling and deboning the fish for just 2 pence."
"no need."
Lu Ze paid the money and casually accepted the fish.
"brush!"
The fishmonger then saw the mysterious man's hand caress the surface of the fish, causing the scales to fall off like snowflakes. His fingers then reached into the fish's body and pulled out the intact bones—during which the fish meat seemed to flow like liquid, without any resistance.
"what?"
The fishmonger was dumbfounded.
He felt as if he hadn't woken up properly and was hallucinating, but when he rubbed his eyes and looked again, the man had vanished, leaving only pennies on the chopping board.

"Meow~"
Lu Ze carried the fish through the door, and the black cat, as if it had known he was coming back, was already sitting on the cabinet in front of the porch.
Kittens grow very quickly; in just a few weeks, it already looked much bigger than before.
"Come on, let's eat."
The cabinet was the perfect height; Luze could just reach out and touch the furry head. He showed Luna the fresh fish in his hand; the fish was even bigger, its eyes wide open, radiating an eerie light.
"Meow?"
Luna tilted her head, jumped off the cabinet, and followed him until Luze tossed the enormous creature into its plate. Only then did it seem to realize that this was today's lunch.
"Meow!"
It suddenly became excited, bit the fish's body, and raised its tail high.
It should be cut.
Lu Ze thought to himself, but seeing how excited Luna was, he let it go.
After venting its anger, the black cat finally began to eat, biting off a piece of soft meat from the belly of the fish and chewing it vigorously with its head tilted to the side.
Lu Ze watched it eat quietly for a while, then petted it before standing up.
"I'm leaving now, remember to watch the house."
Before he could finish speaking, he felt his robe sink; it was being tugged by a kitten's paw. Realizing he was trying to leave, Luna surprisingly abandoned her half-eaten fish and came closer.
"Hey"
The black cat nimbly climbed up and jumped onto Lu Ze's shoulder along the strip of his robe.
"Meow."
It licked the oil off its lips and called out to Luze.
"Why are you following me?"
Lu Ze tried to pull it off, but it clung to his robe with its claws, stubbornly refusing to let go. "I have important business to attend to. I'll play with you again tonight, okay?"
He initially thought Luna was lonely because he wasn't home often, but suddenly he sensed a spiritual fluctuation in the black cat and noticed that the kitten's originally clear blue eyes were becoming deep and mysterious.
"Meow."
It called out again, as if it were doing something very serious.
Did this little guy get some kind of fortune telling?
Luze frowned, guessing, then softened his grip, moving Luna from his shoulder to his chest. This time, Luna didn't resist. It seemed she intended to follow Luze.
So Lu Ze took it out the door.
After using "psychological invisibility," he walked calmly down the street, and no one noticed a mysterious man carrying a cat walking past him.
Luna would only make a sound when they reached the street corner, guiding Luze towards his destination. The further he walked, the more familiar it felt, and he realized that he seemed to have returned to the area controlled by the Lehman gang—his own ranch.
"Meow."
The black cat meowed again, this time not from the street corner.
Its eyes lost their strange color and stared motionless at the two people on the street.
It was a peculiar combination. The middle-aged man in the lead looked lazy and unmotivated, while the young man seemed very wary, looking around the street.
They're probably not from the East District.
Lu Ze made his judgment very easily.
Leaving aside the middle-aged man, the young man, though dressed in clothes commonly seen in the East District, was excessively neat. His hands were also very smooth, with little dirt. It could only be said that his disguise was not very convincing.
Most importantly, both of them radiated a spiritual light, which he, as a shepherd, sensed.
A serious, unquestionable demeanor seems to be the approach of an "arbitrator".
MI9?
They found my territory?
Lu Ze frowned.
Fortunately, it was discovered early.
"Well done, Luna."
He couldn't help but reach out and stroke the cat in his arms, praising it.
"Meow!"
The little black cat held its head high, looking quite proud.
After rewarding the kitten, he took advantage of his invisibility and walked over to the two of them, listening to their conversation.
"Mr. Reeves!"
The young man, Constance Lilson, exclaimed excitedly, "Something's not right here! Maybe we've found a clue!"
After concluding his investigation in the Jowood district, Reeves submitted a completely unhelpful report. Surprisingly, the major said nothing, simply sending them a few days later to wander around the East District and try their luck.
To their surprise, they actually discovered a strange neighborhood.
"Mysterious missionaries who can heal people's external wounds, take in the homeless, establish a new order, and spread faiths beyond the seven gods."
Stepping onto the clean pavement, with no homeless people or streetwalkers around, Constance even felt like he wasn't in the chaotic East District. "This person is highly suspicious; he could very well be that [Blood Cultivator]!"
If they investigate the area carefully, they might actually find traces of that mysterious figure!
Constance thought excitedly, as if his boss's praise was just around the corner. "Mr. Reeves, let's do it!"
He had no idea that Lu Ze beside him had already reached out his hand.
"Ah."
The languid Mr. Reeves nodded, then scribbled something in his notebook, muttering:
"No abnormalities reported in the East District."
what?
Cons and Luzer were both stunned, with the latter even stopping what he was doing.
Thank you, dear reader, for the generous donation of 200 Qidian coins for appreciating today's wonderful moment.
