Chapter 123: Barrier

Chapter 123: Barrier

"Sheen Green?!"

Professor McGonagall saw the figure she thought would never be there and was momentarily breathless. She glared at Sheehan, her whole body trembling with rage.

"Ravenclaw, deduct fifty points! Because of your stupid actions!"

Professor McGonagall was clearly furious.

Harry and Ron were dumbfounded. How could the professors' attacks have shifted in an instant just because Sheen appeared?
Professor Flitwick, standing outside the door, was equally dumbfounded. He paused slightly, wondering if Ravenclaw was going to... run out of points.

"Sheen Green".

Professor Flitwick pushed open the door and coughed twice, which brought Professor McGonagall back to her senses, but Professor Snape's eyes remained cold.

“Can you tell me what happened, children? Miss Granger, I remember you were supposed to take the afternoon off.”

His friendliness calmed the frightened young wizards down a bit.

"It's me, I've come to find you..."

Hermione was still a little dazed, but she couldn't just watch Sheehan lose a full 150 points!

Think about it, he worked so hard and only earned 150 points.

“It was us, Professor. We encountered the troll when we came to meet Hermione for dinner, and then we defeated it together.”

Justin quickly picked up the conversation.

He knew that Sheehan was probably not very talkative, and with the professors' anger so intense, it would be difficult to hear what the source of that anger had to say.

He didn't know whether Hogwarts would reward or punish them for defeating the troll, but judging from the current situation, it probably wouldn't be good.

Therefore, everyone should share the burden.

"Oh, you're saying you risked your lives to defeat the troll?!"

Professor Flitwick blinked, signaling him to continue.

“Yes, Professor, Neville and I were in charge of harassing it, Harry and Ron distracted it, and in the end, Sheehan defeated it with the Levitation Charm.”

Looking at the extremely thick wooden stick and the two-dimensional head, Justin first pieced together what had happened here, and then immediately began to fabricate everyone's behavior.

The rest of the people stood by, stunned.

Harry was the first to react:
"That's right, Professor."

"Correct."

Ron said the same thing.

Deduct points from the college?

Not afraid.

Without Grimm's Notebook, we would be doomed.

Ron thought to himself with delight: Mr. Green's character is beyond reproach. He has done me a favor. Now I will have access to the latest version of Green's Notes.
I'm so excited just thinking about it.

"Oh—how heroic! Children, I think I must add—"

As Professor Flitwick spoke, he glanced at the two professors beside him.

Professor McGonagall calmed down and looked at everyone with some concern, especially Sheen.

Professor Snape gave Sheehan a death stare, which probably meant, "You'll see."

"First of all, Mr. Sheen, due to your outstanding spellcasting skills, I have to add 150 points to your score!"

Professor Flitwick could tell at a glance which spells Sheehan had used, and he was pleased that his prized student had combined spells so well in actual combat.

Look at this levitation spell, this knockback spell targeting wooden clubs... It completely takes into account the characteristics of trolls: high magic resistance, fragile heads, and bulky bodies!
What brilliant combat strategy!
Although Professor McGonagall and Professor Snape looked displeased, they did not refute them.

Professor Flitwick winked at Sheehan, roughly meaning:

"It's okay, we'll add it back later."

“And for the others, I’ll add twenty points for each of you! Because you didn’t abandon your companions, you cleverly divided the work and cooperated, and you tenaciously defeated the troll!” Professor Flitwick’s words excited everyone.

"Go and enjoy your dinner, children!"

Before the other two professors could speak, Professor Flitwick, with a smile, quickly saw the young wizards off.

Only after the professors had all disappeared did the group resume their chattering discussion.

"Merlin! Sheen, I still can't imagine you defeating the troll all by yourself! That must have been amazing!"

Justin said with a smile.

"I heard a loud 'bang,' was that the troll falling to the ground?"

Harry asked the question he had wanted to ask for a long time.

But it wasn't until he asked that he realized something—

The four young wizards in front of him were practically inseparable, especially Sheehan, Justin, and Hermione, while he himself seemed not to be one of them.

For some reason, Sheen had given himself and Ron a lot of help.

"I guess so,"

Justin quickly picked up the conversation.
"Sheen, what magic did you use to defeat it?"

"Transfiguration, Levitation Charm, Repel Charm..."

Sheen spoke,
"Oh, thank you."

"I should be the one thanking you..."

Hermione's voice regained its strength.

"Thank you, Sheehan, especially you. And Justin, Neville, Harry, and Ron."

Harry felt a vague sense of distance disappear right after Sheehan said thank you.

Harry was already quite content with this, but then Ron suddenly blurted out something:
"May I see the latest edition of Grimm's Curse Notes?"

Unexpectedly, Justin laughed so hard he couldn't stand up straight:
"Where would you find the latest version? The Spellbook was completed by Sheehan and Hermione together. I'm guessing the part you're referring to is something Hermione just added herself..."

Ron blushed instantly, but unexpectedly, a sky-blue notebook was quickly placed in his hand. He turned his head and saw Hermione looking up at him:
“Here you go… Also, I only handled a small part of it; Sheen’s progress on the spell is much faster than mine.”

……

October has ended, and November has arrived as scheduled.

It's gotten to the point where you can't go without gloves this season, probably because the Quidditch season is coming soon, and there's a lot of tension between the houses.

After the troll incident, the three in Hope's Cottage always had an inexplicable trust in Sheen. Even Harry and Ron felt the same way, and every time school ended, he would boast about how Sheen had single-handedly defeated the troll.

The rift between him and Harry and Hermione disappeared quickly. This made Justin somewhat happy; with Harry and Ron around, Hermione no longer heard any gossip.

After all, Ron and Harry had recently gained points, so they became aggressive and weren't afraid of losing points by fighting.

Ron, in particular, when he gets angry, he'll actually throw the scabbard out of his hand.

As for Sheen, he's been feeling really bad lately.

He hasn't seen Professor McGonagall or Professor Snape since that day.

Today, he needs to learn Transfiguration and brew potions.

In fact, he had already tried to seek a solution on his own initiative, but Professor McGonagall and Professor Snape both seemed to be in the principal's office.

This resulted in him being unable to find anyone for a time.

On the afternoon of the second day of Halloween, several figures were already standing in the principal's office.
