Chapter 129: The First Match

Chapter 129: The First Match

The next morning, the weather was clear and cold. The restaurant was filled with the enticing aroma of roasting sausages, and everyone was excitedly chatting and looking forward to an exciting Quidditch match.

"Just like we said, Harry, you'll succeed!"

Ron was encouraging Harry early in the morning.

The two of them sat at the Gryffindor table behind Sheen.

Harry nodded.

Wizards were almost all very enthusiastic about Quidditch. Ron and Harry wondered if Harry could demonstrate some Quidditch talent, would he then possess some value?
Just like Justin possesses many culinary magic skills and can organize all of Sheen's notes, classifying and integrating them in a scientific way.

Or perhaps it was Neville, who helped Sheen refine his herbalism notes, and whose magical plants allowed Sheen and the others to observe and learn up close.

Or perhaps it's Hermione, who always teaches everyone spells, and they only consult Sheen for the most difficult ones.

According to Justin, Sheen is a jack-of-all-trades and uses a special method to record everyone's spell levels.

His eyes lit up when he talked about this.

Harry and Ron were also surprised; they hadn't realized that spells had different levels!

Isn't it enough to just pass the final exam?

With only the passing grade in mind, the two had no idea what kind of passion they would unleash later.

"You can do it."

In the Great Hall, Ron was even more nervous than Harry. It was less like their first match and more like their ticket to the secret organization.

Seeing their tense expressions, Justin couldn't stop laughing at the Ravenclaw table.

Sheen glanced at Justin, and Justin suppressed a laugh.

He's been acting a little strange lately...

Sheen thought to himself.

By eleven o'clock, it seemed that the entire school's teachers and students had gathered in the stands around the Quidditch pitch.

Many students also brought binoculars. The seats were practically raised halfway up the wall, but it was still sometimes difficult to see the game clearly.

The match started quickly, and Sheen and the others sat in the back.

Compared to the Quidditch matches, which, although seemingly thrilling, were like children playing house in Sheen's eyes (after all, they were all too slow), the commentary was much more entertaining—

Even sitting next to commentator Jordan, Professor McGonagall couldn't stop his nonsensical commentary.

"The Quaffle was immediately snatched by Angelina Johnson of Gryffindor—what an excellent Chaser she is, and so beautiful too—if only I could date her—"

"Jordan!"

"I'm sorry, Professor."

The commentary style can be described as quite free.

The cheers of the Gryffindors echoed in the cold air, mixed with the roars and groans of the Slytherins.

Suddenly, Gryffindor also roared.

It turned out that Marcus Flint had deliberately bumped into Harry, causing Harry's flying broomstick to veer off course, but Harry managed to hold on tightly.

Lee Jordan even yelled, completely forgetting that he was a commentator:
"Slytherin gained an advantage—entirely through that blatant and despicable act of cheating just now—"

"Jordan!"

Professor McGonagall growled.

"I mean, after that public and offensive foul play—"

"Jordan, let me remind you-"

“Alright, alright. Flint almost killed Gryffindor’s Seeker, I’m sure that happens to everyone, so Gryffindor took the free kick. Spinnet got the ball, she passed it out smoothly, play continued, and Gryffindor still had possession.” Sometimes sarcasm was more infuriating than directness, and the Slytherins all stared at him coldly.

Sheehan thought that Professor McGonagall might be sitting next to him for more than just to get his attention on the explanation; there was also a more important reason to prevent him from being ganged up on by the angry Slytherins.

Sheehan silently began reading the "Ancient Runes Compendium." His reason for coming to the Quidditch pitch was simply because Professor McGonagall had said:

"Go out and see more, son, the Quidditch match is about to begin."

Suddenly, a loud commotion erupted from the Quidditch pitch—Harry's flying broomstick was behaving strangely!

The broom twitched and twisted wildly, slowly and higher, carrying Harry away from the arena.

His flying broomstick began to tumble and tumble incessantly, and Harry could barely keep from falling. The next second, the broomstick twisted wildly again, and Harry was thrown off. He was now hanging in the air with only one hand holding onto the broomstick handle.

This breathtaking scene drew wide-eyed stares from everyone.

Sheehan seemed to remember something. When he turned around, Hermione had already struggled through the crowd and arrived at the stands where Professor Snape was.

Even when he bumped into Professor Quirrell and sent him tumbling into the seat in front of him, he didn't stop to apologize.

She muttered to herself, "It's Snape, he's up to no good—he's casting a curse on the flying broom."

Compared to Harry, who was unlikely to cause any problems, Hermione's behavior was what truly surprised Sheen.

Next to another stand.

Hermione hid behind Professor Snape, about to cast a spell on his unhealed leg.

She muttered incantations, but the magic vanished before it could be released.

She turned her head in alarm and realized it was Sheen.

He had just gracefully put away his wand and said softly:
Hermione, look—

Suddenly, Harry was able to climb back onto his broom in the sky.

Soon the stands erupted in cheers—Harry had caught the Golden Snitch!

Hermione then turned around stiffly:
"Why is this happening...Sheen?"

Sheehan didn't say anything, but simply returned with Hermione to Justin and the others.

Neville was crying, showing no trace of the courage he had shown before, who had even dared to confront the giant directly.

On the highest stands.

Penelope frowned, her suppressed anger almost engulfing Roger in front of her—Roger, the Ravenclaw star and the Quidditch team's alternate captain.

"You were in charge of recruitment, but you overlooked a young wizard who passed the flight test—even Gryffindor knows about it!?"

She looked at the burly wizard before her as if he were a pig—perhaps a pig is far smarter than him.

"Who would have thought... that test, no one has passed it for who knows how long..."

Roger trembled, his smile looking utterly miserable.

"Go find him quickly!"

Penelope's classmate was furious.
"No—I'm coming back! I'm going—"

But it seems they weren't the only ones looking for Sheen. At the corner of the corridor, Sheen was the first to be blocked by two red-haired figures.

"You've finished studying those books?!"

"I've never seen a wizard as talented as you—"

"We need to teach you something real!"

"It's just a need—"
