Chapter 135: Expert-Level Transfiguration
Chapter 135: Expert-Level Transfiguration
In the afternoon, Sheen will practice Transfiguration.
The office, with its fierce fireplace flames, was unlike any other; the professor would inadvertently ask many questions.
"Mr. Green."
Her voice was as stern as ever, but much softer than in class.
"I think the chill of November at Hogwarts can sometimes be incredibly biting."
Sheen turned his head and looked at the professor.
Her gaze, peering through his square glasses, fell sharply on his untied tie and the thin robe he had just changed into in the small greenhouse cubicle—the greenhouse was too hot, and he had forgotten to put on a sweater after returning to the castle.
"Hogwarts,"
She spoke slowly, each word carrying weight.
"For many students who come here, it's not just about school. I think you know that."
Sheen nodded silently.
For the past two months, he would sometimes look up at the night sky.
The stars in the magical world always shine brightly, and Sheen felt that things weren't much different from six months ago.
It just gives us a little more hope.
"You no longer have to face the first snow of winter in the Scottish Highlands alone..."
Professor McGonagall's eyes softened, but she then said,
“This is not allowed at Hogwarts. Now—”
Her voice returned to its usual crispness, and with a gentle tap of her wand, Sheen's tie automatically and neatly fastened.
"There are still twenty minutes before dinner starts, enough time for you to go back and put on a thick sweater. I hope to see you in the auditorium, punctual and with a good appetite."
As Sheen walked out of the classroom, her head was slightly lowered, her robes fluttering, and she turned to leave. Her footsteps echoed in the stone corridor, leaving behind a tall and straight figure.
……
As the snow fell heavier, Sheen's understanding of the Fusion Enlightenment Method deepened. One evening, as the windows rattled, he brewed a [Beginner] level euphoria.
Professor Snape's expression changed repeatedly, but he always managed to hide it well from Sheehan.
Having successfully put his methods into practice, Sheen continued to refine the Integrated Enlightenment Method, and in a few days he would be able to form a complete system.
However, he was still kicked out of the cellar by Professor Snape today—
"Clumsy technique, quality forcibly improved by your stupid methods—Sheen Green, if you're not blind, you'll know the terrible material ratio you've shown—idiot!"
Although Sheen always corrects his mistakes and makes progress, in Professor Snape's eyes he is still not much different from a troll.
Occasionally, a complex emotion would flicker in those deep, black eyes—
In some respects, even in respects worthy of being recorded, he demonstrated the talent of a top potion master;
In some areas where he doesn't even need to be considered, he's an idiot.
This strange contrast infuriated Snape, sometimes to the point of gritting his teeth—
"Idiot! Idiot! Idiot timing! Idiot method! Get out of here—"
Sheen rarely hears anything nice before he leaves, but he automatically ignores mockery, so he always leaves the cellar with a full load of goodies.
Under Professor Snape's intensive "guidance," Sheen reached the "proficient" level in all three types of basic potions, and he could get more than ten Galleons from the professor three times a week.
With the notebook selling like hotcakes, his wallet grew fatter and fatter.
If he can find Gemini, his progress will be even faster.
Unlike his peaceful yet profound joy,
Harry has been feeling very unwell lately.
Captain Wood has been training like crazy ever since he learned that the Ravenclaw Quidditch team had approached Green.
However, the Grimm Collection hasn't been updated to the present day, so Harry is behind on a lot of his learning progress.
Hermione had barely spoken to Sheehan for three days since he lost Quidditch Origins and caused Sheehan to go to the “dangerous” administrator’s office.
Although she was willing to help them later, she resolutely refused to let them copy her homework.
"What can you learn from that?"
She always said that. But after she checked it, he and Ron always got the correct answer.
The scary thing is, he doesn't even have that much time left.
The thought that Sheen disliked Quidditch made Harry feel like a baboon with a wand in Sheen's eyes.
What are the differences between them?
They would all be knocked to the ground by a single spell from Sheen.
They wanted to wait for Sheen in the corridor as before, but Sheen had recently changed his whereabouts. They wanted to go find Justin, but Gryffindor had just finished playing against the Hufflepuffs and won—so Harry was even more hesitant to go.
This made Justin's expression turn strange.
The two of them—you don't see anything so awkward between them.
It was another sunny Sunday.
Sheen was in the yard when a salamander scurried around. Just as it was about to dart onto Hermione's shoes, it suddenly stopped.
Sheen waved his wand, and it suddenly expanded to more than three times its original size, becoming as big as a Quake ball, before slowly retreating and burning a path through the thin layer of snow.
[You have practiced an advanced Transfiguration spell to expert standards. Proficiency +1000]
How much is this?
Sheen had never seen such proficiency before, and he soon found out why.
"Sheen!"
Justin swiftly grabbed the young wizard, and after a moment of exhaustion, Sheen slowly began to catch his breath again.
His energy was drained in an instant.
"Sheen—!"
Hermione's concern was always hidden behind her angry face.
"I warned you—advanced Transfiguration techniques in the profound realm can easily lead to energy depletion!"
After taking a sip of the steaming honey tea, Sheen felt much better.
Just now, he solved the problem that had been bothering him for a long time.
That is, when he was casting advanced Transfiguration, he was too focused on imitating the magical creatures themselves, and forgot that Transfiguration is guided by the wizard's will.
Therefore, when he pursues power, the fire lizard gradually slips out of his control.
However, when he truly focuses his will entirely on the fire lizard, the energy he consumes increases dramatically.
With his first-year magic power, he could easily run out of money.
Meanwhile, at the other end of the courtyard, a fierce conflict was breaking out.
Harry and Ron, who were already in a bad mood, were talking.
"It's the weekend, Harry, how's your homework going?"
Ron looked miserable.
"Not a word."
Harry was a little better, but not by much.
"The Grimm compilation is supposedly still a week away, but I'm doomed this week!"
There's quite a bit of homework to do after a week.
"Ha—two Gryffindor fools—thinking they can—"
Malfoy passed by and looked around.
The swirling snowflakes obscured his vision, and he could see nothing but Harry, who seemed to be in a bad mood.
So he loudly mocked in a good mood.
