Chapter 174: Hanging at the Cellar Entrance
Chapter 174: Hanging at the Cellar Entrance
Bad news disrupted Sheen's plans: Professor Terra was not there.
"Professor Terra is a very busy person, often traveling between several magic schools... It's normal that you don't see her."
The Weasleys' words echoed in Sheehan's mind. It seemed unlikely he would find the Professor anytime soon.
So Shin could only try to learn ancient runes and select materials on his own.
Or perhaps, after some thought, he realized that Gemini might have a solution?
Just like the runic notes they provided last time, there were no vague descriptions, only precise and meaningful sentences.
In the corridor, a figure riding a pony seemed to flash by, and around the corner where he disappeared, a tall figure appeared.
As Sheen entered the corridor, an unexpected wizard appeared before him.
"Mr. Green, it's a pleasure to meet you."
The tall class monitor was polite yet warm.
"Commander Krivat".
Sheen nodded. He felt the corridor wasn't very clean, and he was always stopped by people there.
"Oh, 'The Selection and Inspiration of Alchemical Materials'? You're studying ancient alchemy? That's sixth-grade material."
The prefect glanced at his notebook, his smile growing even brighter.
"Ravenclaw has many wizards who have studied ancient things like Niven. Perhaps we can be of help to you?"
Sheen shook her head; the prefect's purpose wasn't hard to guess. And judging from her expression, she didn't seem to intend to hide it.
“I bet your notes are very comprehensive, but listen, Ravenclaw has a ‘magical society.’ Yes, it’s a club. It’s a place where many wizards like you enjoy studying magic…”
As she spoke, she observed Sheehan's reaction. He showed some interest, but not much.
“We have many notes on ancient runes, which are annotations of those obscure books. They are simple to understand and have been verified by professors, so they are very reliable.”
Sheen's eyes lit up.
"Among them are many items left by Ravenclaws from many years ago."
Sheen began to ponder.
"You can have anything you want. And if you need to study with Professor Bathilda Barblin, we can help... as long as you're willing to play for Ravenclaw three times, no, two times is enough!"
The prefect spoke faster and faster, and from her description, Sheen felt that his first question about runes and materials might not be a question anymore.
He always believed that magic is vast, and although no one may have succeeded in what he wanted to do, that doesn't mean no one has ever failed.
After all, even poisonous tentacles have been eaten by wizards, and they're even recorded on Chocolate Frog cards.
Although magic is sometimes not straightforward, there are always lessons to be learned from the words.
Therefore, Sheen wavered slightly.
If the notes from the "Magic Society" are truly useful, I should do something in return.
Penelope Crivat's lips curled into a slight smile; they had been keeping an eye on Sheen for quite some time. Especially with the Weasleys making no attempt to conceal it, it wasn't difficult to discover that Sheen was studying alchemy.
More importantly, she just reached an agreement with someone...
"I think……"
The prefect's offer was very tempting, but he simply disliked Quidditch and the time it wasted and the potential harm it could cause.
But he's still fine as a player who only appears once or twice in a short period of time; his body isn't as weak anymore.
This is an equivalent exchange, and Sheen approves of this approach.
"Don't rush to refuse... I've heard that Professor McGonagall is a big fan of Quidditch, and she's said to be present at every Quidditch match."
Prefect Penelope Crivat said softly, then stopped, not continuing.
“I’m sorry for hearing some of the news, and if you’re angry, I think I’ll be in big trouble. But it’s something that has to be done, even if it’s a big trouble. Sheehan, we need you, Ravenclaw Quidditch team needs you, and the whole of Ravenclaw—this is our best chance yet.”
The prefect looked at Sheehan.
"In Merlin's name, no one else will overhear this. Although I don't know why you're not called Sheen McGonagall, if you don't want to talk about it, no one will ever know again."
Penelope Crevat is a clever wizard who confronts her desires and restrains herself with a moral bottom line that is not very common.
So although she was so shrewd that it offended the wizards, the Ravenclaws still trusted her, at least she dared to put everything out in the open, didn't she?
The sound of wind whistling through the corridor, wide Christmas ribbons hanging overhead, and the portraits on the walls flickering in and out of focus.
Prefect Penelope held her breath, for the young wizard before her was deep in thought.
He was slightly agitated when he heard the words "Professor McGonagall," but quickly regained his composure.
"How disheartening! To hear such despicable schemes!"
Just then, a voice rang out. Sheen immediately recognized it as Sir Cadogan's.
Although the jazz was speaking in a serious and proper tone, he was not in good spirits. He was being dragged into the picture frame by his pony, his legs making a rustling sound on the ground.
"You should be ashamed, wizard!"
His legs dangled on the ground, his body embracing the miniature horse, his deep voice carrying an ancient knightly tone, but his appearance was not easy to look at directly.
Prefect Penelope lowered her head slightly.
"I'm very sorry."
"That's not how you use love, ma'am."
The jazz lowered his head and winked at Sheehan.
"You should do something first for your mistake—I think you've done your part for the honor of your college, and now you should express your apology."
Then Sheehan saw the prefect take out a lot of notes from her bag, as if she had prepared everything in advance.
"Sir Cadogan, you are right."
Prefect Penelope handed the notebook to Sheehan.
"Whether you want to come or not, Ravenclaw will always support you. If you want to find Professor Bathilda Babling or decide to fight for Ravenclaw, feel free to contact me anytime."
This time her smile was genuine, then she tilted her head and made a gesture as if she were sewing her mouth shut before leaving the corridor.
Sheen actually... had already agreed.
As for Professor McGonagall, she had actually intended to publicize the news... but considering that Professor Snape did not have this intention, she did not insist and happily let things take their course.
Shortly after.
A corner of the corridor.
"Sir, will this really work?"
Principal Penelope paced back and forth, completely lacking her previous elegance, and instead appearing somewhat uneasy.
"I know Grimm better than anyone else at Hogwarts!"
Jazz looked confident.
"I hope so."
Chief Penelope paced around for a while, then left.
At this moment, the jazz musician began to hum a little tune:
"Of course, Big Cat would like to go public, but keeping it private is a form of protection for him, right, Severus?"
Just thinking about seeing little Green fly freely, haha! Big Cat must be just as excited as I am!
I also solved a problem on the side. Oh, little Green, if you knew, how would you thank me? I don't want to be hanging on the cellar door..."
