Chapter 49 The Fragrant Ape
Chapter 49 The Fragrant Ape
The following day, a group of blacksmiths, led by Morrick, set out to the mine where Cocodora lived to dig for clay and limestone.
The excavated clay was then transported back to the territory by two afro-headed water buffaloes pulling a cart.
During his break, blacksmith Gro began digging a brick kiln on the outskirts of his territory to make clay bricks.
The territory, which had been idle for a long time, became busy again.
Thanks to the tireless efforts of the two afro-headed buffaloes and the crew, a steady stream of clay and limestone was transported back to the territory from the mine.
Although the method of transportation was very old and there were only two afro-headed buffaloes in the territory, which made the transportation progress slow, every little bit counted.
Raven stood aside watching the busy, afro-haired buffalo, and immediately felt a sense of relief.
With bricks and mortar, they could not only build sturdier houses, but also begin to pave roads.
"Elif, give the order to have these two afro-haired buffalo taken good care of," Raven said.
These two afro-haired buffalo, which now serve as transport vehicles, play a vital role in the territory, and we can't let anything happen to them.
“Yes, Your Highness!” Elif nodded.
With the clay and limestone issues resolved, all that's left is to create a Fire-type Pokémon.
"I wonder how things are going with Ryan," Raven mused.
If that Explosive Apex really doesn't want to be captured by humans, then he can only wait until next spring and go back to the forest to see if he can find a few Fire-type Pokémon.
*
In the forest hot spring, Ryan held a few candies in his hand and looked at the Fragrant Ape soaking in the hot spring with a smile.
"Eat up, Fragrant Ape! I have more if you need more!"
"Baka~"
The fragrant ape ate the sweet candy, a happy expression on its face.
Ryan sat on a nearby rock, watching this scene with a smile.
After a few days of getting to know each other, he and the fragrant ape grew much closer.
This fragrant ape stays here every day, waiting for his arrival.
This feeling of someone waiting for him gave Ryan, who had lived alone for over a decade, a feeling he had never experienced before.
"Fragrant Ape, can you understand me?" Ryan couldn't help but ask.
"What?" Upon hearing this, the Fragrant Ape turned to look at him, his expression seemingly asking why he was being asked that.
Ryan just found it amazing.
In the past, neither he nor the humans in the royal city had ever thought of communicating with magical beasts.
These creatures, though different in appearance from humans, possess the same emotions as humans, and even have an intelligence level comparable to that of human children.
So much so that upon closer contact, one can discover that many magical beasts are actually as innocent and naive as children.
Why hadn't he noticed before that monsters were such adorable creatures? Ryan couldn't help but wonder.
Prince Raven is right.
"Fragrant Ape, are you really unwilling to come back to my camp and live with me?"
Ryan couldn't resist extending another invitation to the Fragrant Ape.
“We live in the clearing outside the forest. Prince Raven helped us build many houses to shelter us from the wind and rain. We won’t be afraid of blizzards anymore there. I also have a lot of candy. If you want to come over, you can eat candy anytime you want.”
Upon hearing these words, a hesitant expression appeared on the face of the Exploding Fragrance Ape.
"Baka..."
After spending this time together, it was able to sense the human's heart.
He not only visits it every day, but also brings it sweet candies.
but.
"Damn it..." This is really a headache...
The fragrant ape wore a troubled expression.
It pondered for a moment, then stood up from the hot spring and walked in one direction. The Fragrant Ape took a few steps, then suddenly stopped, turned back to look at Ryan: "Baka!"
Ryan was slightly taken aback: "Are you asking me to follow you?"
"Baka!" The Fragrant Ape nodded affirmatively.
Seeing this, Ryan, though not understanding the intention of the Exploding Ape, still followed.
The person and their Pokémon traversed a thicket of bushes, and after twisting and turning through the forest, a cave suddenly appeared in the clearing ahead.
"Is this your home?" Ryan asked, gazing at the cave.
"Baka~!" The Fragrant Ape nodded.
It went into the cave and gestured for Ryan to follow.
Ryan followed the Exploding Ape into the cave.
The cave was not large, and the interior was quite rudimentary. The floor was covered with a thick layer of orange leaves, which seemed to be a place for sleeping.
On that "bed," there were actually three smaller magical beasts.
There was a mushroom-shaped monster, a small pigeon-shaped monster that Ryan had seen before, and a monster that stood upright like a mouse.
“This is…” Ryan was stunned.
Upon seeing the Exploding Fragrance Ape, two of the magical beasts immediately surrounded it, hiding behind it and watching Ryan, the outsider, with considerable vigilance.
The rat-like monster lay on the pile of fallen leaves, its cheeks flushed, seemingly asleep.
"Baka!"
The Fragrant Ape lowered its head and said something to them, and the two magical beasts were no longer as tense as before.
"Are they magical beasts you adopted?" Ryan was somewhat surprised as he looked at the scene before him and couldn't help but guess.
"Baka!" The Fragrant Ape nodded.
"So it's because of them that you don't want to live with me in our human territory?" Ryan asked.
"Baka..." The Fragrant Ape nodded with great difficulty.
Although it was very fond of the human and liked him a lot, if it left, the three little guys would be left without anyone to take care of them.
The Exploding Scented Monkeys were found in the forest more than a month ago.
Winter has arrived, and the temperature is cold. They have all suffered injuries of varying degrees and are no longer able to fly to warmer places to spend the winter.
The fragrant ape couldn't bear to see them suffer, so it took them back to its cave one by one.
Warcraft... they actually went out of their way to help other races of Warcraft!
The scene before him shocked Ryan immensely.
He finally understood why the Fragrant Ape had been rejecting him.
But for humans, this is not a problem at all!
Ryan slapped his forehead and quickly came up with a solution.
"In that case, you can all come back with me! I live alone, and I have plenty of space at home!"
It's so lively living together!
"What?!" The Exploding Fragrance Ape was startled, seemingly not quite able to react.
Ryan, however, turned his gaze to the magical beast on the pile of fallen leaves.
and……
Ryan went over to check on the creature and touched its body temperature.
“It seems to have a fever,” Ryan said. “If it doesn’t receive timely treatment, its life could be in danger!”
Upon hearing this, the Fragrant Ape panicked.
"Baka!"
"Don't worry, we have doctors in our territory. I can take you there."
