"Namo Amitabha Buddha, this old monk greets the Grand Master of Taiqing."
Zen Master Tianmeng clasped his hands together and respectfully bowed.
He is a Vajra Realm expert in Buddhism, capable of rivaling Taoist immortals.
Buddhist practice differs from Taoist practice.
The five realms progress step by step: seated illumination, awakening consciousness, the lamp of the mind, the treasure of the spirit, and relics.
Refining relics is equivalent to cultivating the primordial spirit of the Dao embryo.
Above the relics lies the Vajra Realm, comparable to a wandering immortal who has cultivated a Dharma form.
The Vajra Realm is the cultivation of the Vajra Heart and the Pure Bodhi Heart of Buddhism, where one's true nature remains unchanged, and one's divine treasures are nourished by the principles of heaven and earth, thus condensing the indestructible Buddha-nature.
From this point onward, as long as the Buddha is alive, Vajra is immortal and indestructible.
Even if someone dies, as long as the Buddha is willing to pay a sufficient price, he can still allow them to be reincarnated and live another life.
The Buddhist community is said to have eight hundred Vajras, eighteen Arhats, four great Bodhisattvas, and all revered the Great Sun Tathagata Buddha.
These eight hundred Vajras are actually the accumulation of countless years since the beginning of Buddhism, but most of these Buddhist Vajras are in the cycle of reincarnation.
Only a dozen or so are truly capable of traversing this world.
As for Arhats, there are only three golden-bodied Arhats walking in the world today.
……
The foundation of Buddhism lies in the Buddha. As long as the Buddha lives, the eight hundred Vajra Guardians will live on forever.
In Buddhist teachings, anyone who develops Buddha-nature can call themselves a Buddha.
All beings suffer; with a single thought of enlightenment, one can see one's true nature and attain Buddhahood.
Therefore, from Mahavairocana Buddha downwards, the Four Great Bodhisattvas, the Eighteen Arhats, and the Eight Hundred Vajras are all true Buddhas.
It is said that Vairocana Buddha has reincarnated for countless eons, and has successively attained the status of Amitabha Buddha, Dipankara Buddha, Shakyamuni Buddha, Ratnacandra Buddha, and Vairocana Buddha.
Amitabha Buddha created Mount Sumeru, a pure land in Buddhism, which is also known as the Land of Ultimate Bliss. He made a great vow to guide all sentient beings to be reborn in the Land of Ultimate Bliss and be free from the suffering of the mortal world.
However, Mount Sumeru is the Dharma Realm of Emptiness, woven together with supreme Dharma principles, making it difficult for ordinary people to enter. Only by cultivating Buddha-nature can one see Mount Sumeru and obtain a lotus platform, ensuring that Mount Sumeru will never fall and will never perish.
If one day all sentient beings attain Buddhahood and Amitabha Buddha's great vow is fulfilled, Mount Sumeru will transform from illusion into reality and become the other shore.
The beings on the other shore are immortal, free from disasters and calamities, without worry or fear, and enjoy great joy and freedom; this can be called the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
This is also the doctrine of Buddhism and the pursuit of countless monks.
When Buddhist disciples chant the Buddha's name, "Namo Amitabha Buddha," it signifies taking refuge in and paying homage to Amitabha Buddha.
Even Amitabha Buddha has to go through the cycle of reincarnation, let alone other true Buddhas. Although their Buddha-nature is rooted in Mount Sumeru and their true spirit is indestructible, the vast majority of true Buddhas have already been lost in the cycle of reincarnation.
Amitabha Buddha has reincarnated through countless kalpas. In this life, he cultivated himself to become the Great Sun Tathagata Buddha, the ancestor of the eight hundred true Buddhas, and is also known as the Tathagata Buddha Ancestor.
However, this Buddha ascended to heaven three thousand years ago and has since disappeared without a trace.
The current Buddhist order is all under the control of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva.
The three Arhats below him, the Cloth Bag Arhat, the Mighty Arhat, and the Precious Light Arhat, respectively preside over the Leiyin Temple in West Kunlun, the Vajra Temple in Daxueshan, and the Longhua Temple in Tiantaishan.
Among them, Longhua Temple on Tiantai Mountain has the shortest history, only a little over 800 years ago. It was founded by the Arhat Baoguang and passed down the "Longhua King Listening to the Buddha's Discourse on the Great Sun's Enlightenment Sutra", also known as the "Longhua Sutra" or "Guangming Sutra".
It is said that the Arhat Baoguang was once the king of Longhua Kingdom. By chance, he heard the Buddha Mahavairocana preach, and from then on, he attained enlightenment and cultivated for 2,179 years to attain the Arhatship.
He summarized the scriptures he had heard from the Great Sun Buddha and established the lineage of Longhua Temple on Mount Tiantai.
The last person the Buddha Vairocana saw before ascending to heaven was the Dragon King, who is now the Arhat Baoguang.
Zen Master Tianmeng was a direct disciple of Arhat Baoguang, and also his most outstanding disciple. In just a few hundred years, he cultivated to the Vajra Realm. He had a deep affinity with Buddhism and is the current abbot of Longhua Temple.
His status is special. Apart from Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva and the three Arhats, he is one of the few living Vajras in Buddhism and is revered as a true Buddha by countless monks.
This is also the source of his confidence to go directly to Bai Qian's door and challenge her to a duel outside Xuantian Peak.
A dignified Vajra of Buddhism, a true Buddha in the world, with the support of the Arhat of Precious Light, would naturally not take a mere demon seriously.
As long as Taiqing Temple has not accepted him into its fold, it doesn't matter.
The Taoist Master Tiandu waited quietly until Zen Master Tianmeng finished his bow, then spoke softly, "Now that you have fulfilled your duties, I will see you on your way."
Without any further ado, he raised his hand and clenched his fist into a seal.
"boom!!!"
Three thousand miles of purple aura surged forth like a celestial river bursting its banks!
Above its head, pure air rose and filled the sky, with ten thousand golden lamps floating and emitting boundless light.
Purple Qi refines Yin and Yang, golden lamps burn all things.
With a single punch, the world fell silent, and all things were rendered speechless.
The sky and the earth, in all directions, were filled with purple and golden light.
Zen Master Tianmeng was completely dumbfounded. What did he mean by "Since all the formalities have been fulfilled, I will send you on your way"? Wasn't that insane?
I bowed to you respectfully, and you want to kill me?
His mind was in complete chaos, and a look of horror involuntarily appeared on his face: "Headmaster of Tiandu, what do you mean by this?!"
The Taoist Master Tiandu did not answer; he simply threw a punch.
This punch, seemingly slow, carried the majestic momentum of three thousand miles of purple energy and condensed the brilliant principles of ten thousand golden lamps. It crashed down like a towering peak falling from the sky.
It was as if a huge mountain had smashed down the world, causing upheaval and chaos, and it was unstoppable!
The void collapsed layer by layer like fragile glass, and the originally peaceful Buddha light could not even last for a moment before it shattered with a crash.
Zen Master Tianmeng watched helplessly as the fist imprint descended, with no way to avoid it.
"You're going too far!!"
Zen Master Tianmeng let out a roar of shock, anger, and fear, unleashing all his life's cultivation without reservation, which condensed in front of him into an ancient and profound Great Sun King Seal containing boundless Buddhist power.
"Click——"
With a crisp sound, the golden swastika seal, which embodied the millennia of cultivation of Zen Master Tianmeng, completely disintegrated under the fist of Daoist Tiandu, turning into a shower of golden light.
Immediately afterwards, that fist, white as jade, landed without any hindrance on Zen Master Tianmeng's chest.
Zen Master Tianmeng's body trembled violently, the light in his eyes dimmed instantly, and his dilated pupils were filled with disbelief and utter despair.
His lips moved, but no sound came out.
The next moment, his physical body, like a sand sculpture weathered over millions of years, began to disintegrate inch by inch from the fist imprint, turning into the finest stream of light and dissipating into the world.
Both body and spirit perished, leaving nothing behind.
One punch! Just one punch!
The Vajra of Buddhism, a powerful figure comparable to the wandering immortals of Taoism, Zen Master Tianmeng—has fallen!
He died swiftly and decisively, without the slightest struggle or pain.
He truly died with his eyes wide open in disbelief!
……
Inside and outside Wangtian City, there was a deathly silence.
Whether ordinary people or cultivators from sects, everyone was shocked and bewildered. This sudden change happened too quickly, and many people didn't even know what had happened.
All I saw was the fist imprint falling from the sky, and the shattered Buddhist light filling the air.
"Heavens! How dare you take my disciple's life!!"
From the western horizon, a furious voice, filled with shock, anger, and regret, resounded through the void, shaking heaven and earth.
A dharma appeared, radiating boundless precious light, with a majestic face, a towering body like a mountain, and an aura as powerful as a dragon. Its power was more than ten times stronger than that of Tianmeng.
It was the teacher of Tianmeng, the Arhat of Precious Light.
Enraged, he unleashed a colossal golden hand, covering the sky and wreathed in swastika symbols, with the force to crush mountains and rivers, which pressed down upon the Heavenly Capital Taoist.
"There really are some people who don't know their own mortality."
The Taoist Tiandu remained calm. Facing the angry attack from the Arhat Baoguang, who had cultivated a golden body in Buddhism, he simply raised his right hand slowly, spread his five fingers, and gently pressed down on the golden Buddha's palm that was pressing down on him.
"town."
As soon as the words fell, the three thousand miles of purple aura that filled the sky and the ten thousand floating golden lamps suddenly contracted, transforming into a bronze furnace. Purple and blue flames burned inside the furnace, which crashed down on the Buddha's palm of Venerable Baoguang.
"Buzz—!" The bronze furnace fell, and time seemed to freeze for a moment.
The anticipated earth-shattering collision did not occur. The Buddha's palm, which was powerful enough to shatter mountains, was burned away by the furnace fire the moment it touched the bronze furnace, just like ice melting and snow melting.
The Arhat Baoguang was utterly horrified. Only then did he realize that his extraordinary cultivation was so insignificant in front of this bronze furnace.
Although I had heard Guanyin Bodhisattva say that the Heavenly Capital Taoist was different from ordinary immortals and Buddhas, but a great being residing in the world, and should never be provoked.
However, he thought to himself that he had heard the Buddha Mahavairocana preach and had cultivated himself into a golden Arhat in the mortal world. Such an achievement was extremely rare throughout history.
Although they were wary, they were not overly fearful.
They only thought the other person was slightly better than them...
That is why they dared to set up a plan targeting Huangyun Mountain, intending to convert the Taiqing Scattered Immortal and seize the Huangyun Mountain Taoist temple.
He even dared to have his disciple, Zen Master Tianmeng, loudly knock on the gate of the ancestral site of Taiqing Temple, Xuantian Peak, to kill the demon immortal he was protecting.
It can truly be said that one is blinded by a leaf and does not know the height of the sky.
But by then it was too late to regret...
When the Arhat Baoguang personally faced Tiandu, he realized what true power was. The falling bronze furnace shattered all his confidence and arrogance, and endless regret arose within him.
"I regret listening to the Great One's words..."
He watched helplessly as the bronze furnace shattered the golden hand, and purple-blue flames flowed out of the furnace, cascading down on his golden body like a waterfall.
The Arhat Baoguang experienced the immense terror of being annihilated, both in body and spirit.
"Why seek your own death?"
The Taoist priest of Tiandu spoke indifferently, saying that whether they were Buddhist Vajra or golden Arhats, they would all be suppressed and killed.
When a person dies, all karma disappears, and everything is over.
Do you really think that the 108 peaks of the Three Mountains and Five Sacred Mountains of Taiqing Temple were won over by benevolence and morality?
How naive!
Today, a Vajra and an Arhat died beneath the Suspended Peak. Does this mean it will damage the prestige of Taiqing Temple? What a joke.
The purple and green true fire was about to fall like a waterfall, burning the Arhat of Precious Light to ashes.
"enough!"
A clear, cold female voice rang out in the void, and a twelve-petaled golden lotus silently bloomed, its petals unfurling and spreading with Buddhist light, gently supporting the bronze censer.
The purple and blue true fire that cascaded down from the sky like a waterfall was all collected by a jade bottle.
A woman dressed in white gauze appeared out of nowhere, looking coldly at Daoist Tiandu: "He is courting death and dares to attack you. I have nothing to say about that."
"However, now that war has broken out in the Northwest, it would be better to let him go through the carnage and let his life or death be left to fate."
The Taoist priest waved his sleeve, and the bronze furnace dispersed, transforming into ten thousand golden lamps that fell above the top of his head, lifted up by pure energy.
Three thousand miles of purple aura surged behind him, spreading endless incantations and manifesting all kinds of profound laws and mysteries.
"He ordered him to suppress and kill three demon gods."
The Taoist of Heavenly Capital spoke calmly, yet with an undeniable air of authority.
Guanzizai's lips twitched slightly. Those who could be called demon gods were comparable to Taoist immortals and Buddhist Vajras.
The demon god, residing in the forbidden area, experienced a surge in combat power, becoming comparable to true immortals and arhats.
This isn't about getting Bao Guang to make a move; it's clearly about using her as a weapon.
However, Buddhism is not as strong as Taoism, and an Arhat cannot be killed so easily.
more importantly……
She couldn't beat the old Taoist priest.
Guanzizai could only swallow his anger and said stiffly, "One at most, or you can kill him!"
The Arhat Baoguang had forged a golden body and was not afraid of water or fire, nor of cold or heat, but at this moment, a layer of cold sweat appeared on his forehead and back.
He opened his mouth, as if he wanted to say something.
But Guan Ziyi glared at him, and he immediately dared not speak.
A barely perceptible smile appeared on the face of the Heavenly Capital Taoist: "Two, that's the most I can give."
Guanzizai was furious. The Buddhist sect was originally the main force in the conquest of the Northwest, and the original plan was to attack the seven demon gods, while the Taoist sect only needed to be responsible for three.
The Buddhist community mobilized almost its entire force, deploying all its resources.
If things go as Tiandu wishes, the Buddhist sect will have to fight the nine demon gods. Even if they win, their disciples will likely perish. What would be the point of conquering the Northwest then?
She bit her lip, then emitted a beam of Buddhist light to conceal her figure.
The figure of the Taoist Tiandu also disappeared.
About fifteen minutes later, the figures of Tiandu Daoren and Guanzizai reappeared.
Guanzizai looked grim. Although the heavens eventually granted her request, she had to pay a heavy price.
All of this is because of that idiot Tianmeng.
Of all people to mess with, why did they have to provoke this old Taoist priest?
They even dared to block the way to kill someone at Xuantian Peak; they must be tired of living.
Enraged, she turned her twelve-petaled golden lotus around, scattering Buddhist light that enveloped Venerable Baoguang. Then, stepping on the golden lotus, she transformed into a ray of Buddhist light and headed west.
A farce, however, made the burden on Buddhism even heavier amid the Northwest calamity.
In this uproar, no one cares about who is right and who is wrong, what causes and effects, or what is good and evil.
The Taoist priests of the Heavenly Way are powerful enough to force Buddhism to submit.
For those who cultivate, supernatural powers and magical abilities are the ultimate advantage!
“Green Ox,” the Taoist Tiandu said.
Niu Youde obediently transformed into his true form as a green ox, let out a moo, and appeared in the sky.
"Go and bring Chu Yong back."
The blue ox kowtowed and then headed towards Huangyun Mountain.
Since the patriarch said to bring it back, then it must be alive, not dead.
The Buddhist community has been badly hurt this time and will never dare to interfere again.
That old fellow, he might actually survive.
Niu Youde's mind was racing with random thoughts, but he dared not delay for even a moment.
Even if the Taoist of Heavenly Capital were to truly become angry, he too would be unable to withstand it.
That old guy really dared to skin him alive.
……
As the green ox disappeared into the distance, the figure of the Taoist Tiandu also vanished from the sky.
It was as if nothing had happened between heaven and earth; a gentle breeze blew, sunlight shone down, and the Suspended Peak cast its clear glow—nothing had changed.
Inside the Jade Spring Cave, Wu Tian was overjoyed.
Ding! System notification: The past aura of Zen Master Tianmeng has been detected. Do you wish to extract it?
Note: The wondrous use of the Heavenly Eye is that the death of living beings does not require the consumption of magical power.
This is a Vajra of Buddhism, a disciple of an Arhat, a great figure comparable to a wandering immortal.
“It’s done now!”
