Chapter 76 Search
"Young Master!" Upon seeing this, Wilstone immediately wanted to give chase, but was stopped by Kruse raising his hand.

“Let him go.” Kruse wiped the blood splattered on his face, watching Doron’s departing figure, his tone chillingly calm. “How can we convince Baron Sidil that he was attacked by a ‘powerful rebel army’ if we don’t leave a single survivor to report back? How can the nobles of Campnor County believe his accusations and panic because of them?”

Wilstone instantly realized that the young master wanted to use the deserter's words to confirm the strength and rampant nature of the "Robert's Rebels," thus perfectly hiding themselves behind this fog.

He said no more, sheathed his sword, and began to accompany Kruze on a tour of the battlefield, taking stock of the casualties and spoils of war.

Just then, Kaldo and Sam also "dealt with" their respective opponents, and, covered in blood, strode toward Kruse.

Their faces bore the excitement of battle, as if nothing was amiss.

“Well done, Robert!” Cardo said loudly as he approached, his tone even carrying a hint of approval. “According to the rules, it’s time to take stock…”

Before he could finish speaking, something unexpected happened!
Just as he was less than five steps away from Kruze, the smile on Kaldo's face instantly turned into an extremely ferocious expression. Without warning, the blood-stained longsword in his hand burst forth with a dazzling aura of battle qi, and like a venomous snake emerging from its hole, it pierced straight for Kruze's heart with lightning speed!

Almost at the same moment, Sam beside him also let out a roar, and his battle axe, which had been ready to strike, slashed down at Wilstone with a sharp whistling sound as it tore through the air!
The betrayal, where one side doubles the other, has finally been revealed at this moment of victory!
Although Kruse had already been prepared for possible betrayal, when Kaldor's sword tip, carrying killing intent, suddenly pierced his chest, the extremely close distance and the unexpected attack still made his heart clench and he felt an instinctive sense of horror.

However, Wilstone displayed a far more seasoned and composed response. Faced with Sam's perfectly coordinated surprise attack, Wilstone didn't even show the slightest surprise. He merely flicked his wrist seemingly casually, his knight's sword tracing a simple yet precise arc.

clang! clang!
Two crisp, explosive sounds rang out almost simultaneously!
Wilstone, surprisingly, struck first and effortlessly parried Kaldor's fatal blow to Kruse and Sam's heavy battle axe aimed at himself with a single sword strike!

His effortless demeanor made it seem as if he had swatted away not the full-force sneak attack of two bronze knights, but two annoying flies.

"court death!"

Wilstone gave a low shout, his voice as cold as winter.

The instant he parried the attack, his figure approached like a ghost. The Silver Knight's terrifying strength was no longer held back, and his sword was aimed straight at the astonished Kaldor and Sam!

Kruze, too, snapped out of his shock in that instant, his anger instantly replacing his fear. Without hesitation, he pointed his sword at the refugees who had followed Kaldor in their rebellion and barked out the order: "Kill!"

Upon receiving the command, he led from the front, unleashing the full power of the Bronze Knight, charging into the ranks of the mostly ordinary, traitorous refugees like a tiger among sheep. In the flashes of his sword, he was virtually unstoppable.

This scene infuriated Caldo and Sam, who cursed loudly, but were held tightly by Wilstone and unable to break free to stop it.

What followed was an overwhelming display of power that plunged them into even deeper despair. In just a few rounds, Sam was horrified to discover that his opponent's strength far exceeded his expectations!

"He...he's not the Bronze Knight! He's the White..." Sam's scream abruptly stopped. Wilstone's sword flashed faster than his eyes could perceive; he only saw a cold glint before feeling a chill on his neck, and then his vision began to spin. That was his last thought.

“You know too much.” Wilstone watched coldly as Sam’s head flew off, his tone completely indifferent.

Witnessing Sam's instantaneous annihilation, Kaldor was terrified. All his fighting spirit and greed vanished in an instant. His first instinct was to drop his weapon and beg for mercy: "Wait! I surrender..."

However, before the word "surrender" could be uttered, Wilstone's sword, without the slightest pause, swept across like the scythe of death, precisely severing his head and severing his last plea completely.

The remaining refugees witnessed their two powerful bronze knight leaders being easily killed like chicks, and instantly lost all fighting spirit.

Apart from a few die-hard Kaldor loyalists who tried to rush up for revenge with red eyes but were quickly surrounded and killed, the rest of them very readily and almost habitually dropped their weapons and knelt down to surrender.

For them, surrendering immediately upon the death of their leader in exchange for the opportunity to become slaves of the new power is nothing more than a long-standing survival tradition in this cruel land.

Whether they were prisoners captured after fighting between displaced tribes or spoils plundered from nobles, the most common fate of the losers on this land was to become slaves of the victors and become the lowest level of labor.

Kruse's gaze swept past the kneeling surrendered soldiers and landed on Cooper: "Among these people, which ones can still be used, and which ones are troublemakers that need to be dealt with? Can you tell clearly and handle them properly?"

Upon hearing this, Cooper immediately recalled the meticulous and ruthless screening and interrogation he had undergone after being brought back to Lion's Fang by Wilstone, and couldn't help but shudder. He quickly straightened his back and respectfully assured him, "Yes! My lord, I can definitely handle it!"

“Very good,” Kruse nodded, satisfied with his reaction. “These men are yours to reorganize. Also, find a way to pry the exact location of Kaldor and Sam’s hideout from them, and dig out everything they’ve hidden, roots and all!”

Upon hearing this, Cooper's eyes lit up instantly—this was a lucrative job! He excitedly patted his chest and said, "Don't worry, my lord! Leave it to me. I guarantee I'll find every last copper coin they've hidden in their rat hole!"

Kruse said no more and instead surveyed the chaotic battlefield.

Less than half of the horses survived, and three carriages were destroyed or damaged by falling rocks in the chaos. Fortunately, they had brought enough manpower this time.

"Clean up the battlefield immediately! Leave nothing behind, no matter what supplies you can take! Give the wounded basic first aid, and bury the dead on the spot." He decisively ordered, "We must get out of here as soon as possible!"

Under Kruse's command, everyone sprang into action, like efficient worker ants, stripping valuable goods, intact weapons and armor from the corpses, and even untying and leading away the horses that pulled the carts.
