Hogwarts: A Chinese-Style Professor
Chapter 195, Second Trial
Chapter 195 Second Trial (3k)
"Li Wei—what are you saying!"
Professor McGonagall was shocked by Levi's words and took a step forward abruptly—Dumbledore clearly noticed her movement, but he too was now caught in a dilemma.
“Professor McGonagall, I don’t think we have the right to choose forgiveness for others—”
Levi stood beside Harry, his hand still firmly gripping his arm, but he turned his head to look at McGonagall—and seeing the resolute look in Levi's eyes, Professor McGonagall paused.
Her movements temporarily stopped.
She couldn't help but look at Harry. If the child chose to take revenge himself, she would definitely continue to stop him, but if he chose to forgive, that was also an option.
Harry did not make a decision immediately.
His gaze swept around his surroundings.
Hermione covered her mouth with both hands and looked at them, her expression as if she was about to cry. When their eyes met, she didn't say a word or make any move.
Ron stared at him with his mouth agape, his expression as always as if he'd been kicked in the balls—this guy was definitely taken aback, wasn't he?
Harry ignored the unfamiliar Lupin and looked at the man who had been accompanying him as a 'black dog' for a month: Sirius Black.
"Harry, what are you waiting for! Take revenge yourself!"
He urged Harry on.
“This groveling, filthy bastard will have no remorse. In this coward's eyes, his own stinking body is more important than the lives of your entire family. Kill this shameful traitor!”
"You are the only one with the right to make that decision!"
Professor McGonagall hesitated, then quietly approached Levi and gently took his hand—this was too cruel for a child, Levi.
Her eyes spoke volumes without words.
Dumbledore stood there, his eyes shifting—but he simply stood there watching, saying nothing.
Harry then looked at Levi.
"Professor, could you please release his mouth? I have something I want to say to him."
Levi snapped his fingers lightly, and Peter Pettigrew's terrified voice immediately surged forth like a tidal wave.
"Harry—don't kill me—Harry—James won't let me be killed...James will understand, Harry...he will have mercy on me...forgive me, please!"
Sirius's body began to tremble with anger again.
But this time he didn't say anything—he left everything to Harry, he could handle it. Sirius had seen how he'd performed for a month, and Harry wasn't a child anymore; he had the right to decide everything!
"You—you betrayed my parents because you were captured by Voldemort?"
Harry looked at the ugly-looking Peter—who was wailing like a bald baby—and couldn't understand how his father could be friends with such a person.
“Yes, Harry, I was forced into it! That Dark Lord…you don’t know…you can’t imagine his weapons…I was scared at the time, I wasn’t as brave as your father James.”
I never did it on purpose... that person, whose name I can't even mention, forced me..."
"Don't lie!" Sirius couldn't hold back any longer. "Before Lily and James died, you were passing information to him for a year! You're his spy!"
“He…he meddles in everything!” Peter gasped. “What…what good would it do to refuse him?”
"What good is it to fight the most evil monster in history?" Sirius's face contorted with terrifying rage. "It's to save innocent lives, Peter!"
“You don’t understand!” Peter wailed. “He’ll kill me! He’ll definitely kill me!”
Sirius Black pursed his lips and remained silent—he then looked at Harry.
Harry didn't look at him, but just watched Peter wailing. After a long while, he sighed and lowered his wand.
"I see--"
He looked at Li Wei and pleaded:
“Professor, could we report his crime to the Ministry of Magic? Clear Sirius’s name, and then hand Peter over to the Dementors so he can go to Azkaban?”
It seems he has already made his choice.
But both Blake and Lupin were greatly shocked.
"Harry! This villain caused you to lose your parents! If you can't do it, then I will!"
He looked at Harry, puzzled.
Harry looked at his furious face and was deeply moved by this pure emotion, but he still said in a trembling voice:
“Thank you, Blake, but I don’t think my dad would want his best friend to kill someone, or me to kill someone—especially someone like this.”
Professor McGonagall and Dumbledore both showed a look of relief.
“Harry—think about what he’s done—if it weren’t for him, your parents would still be alive, you would have a happy family, instead of living as dependents in that disgusting Dursley family! I saw it all, what they did to you! Those stupid Muggles.”
“He can go to Azkaban,” Harry put his hand on Sirius’s shoulder to comfort him. “If anyone should go there, it’s him…”
Everyone fell silent.
"Very well, now that you've made your decision—"
Levi waved his wand, and Peter, hanging upside down, fell from mid-air and crashed heavily to the ground—the ground suddenly turned into a tide that spread over him, forming shackles around his neck, hands, and feet.
Not content with all that, Li Wei's wand moved swiftly across the shackles, each rune shimmering with a crystalline light as it embedded itself deeply into the chains.
“You can catch up here—I think you have a lot to say to each other.” Levi led Peter out of the infirmary—Madame Pomfrey, Professor McGonagall, and Dumbledore quickly followed him out.
As Li Wei reached the door, he saw Snape leaning against it with his arms crossed.
"A woman's act of kindness."
He waved his robes and strode away.
If Li Wei hadn't seen his gratified yet complicated expression, he might have actually believed his nonsense.
"Leave the rest to me, Li Wei. I'll handle everything."
Dumbledore knew that Levi disliked tedious tasks, so he volunteered to escort Peter—he leaned slightly closer to Levi and whispered:
"Thank you for your role in this matter. I'd like to ask if you'd be willing to satisfy this old man's curiosity once everything is over?"
He was genuinely curious about how Li Wei had managed to grasp all of this in such a short time—it even surpassed the shock he felt from Sirius Black's exoneration.
"Of course—I can tell you right now, let's go see the people from the Ministry of Magic together—I'd like to ask Fudge, why are Dementors used to guard the Hogwarts trains?"
If the students hadn't mastered the Guardian Charm, something terrible would have happened.
"Oh—yes! I'll go with you guys too!"
Professor McGonagall was jolted awake by his reminder and quickly followed, forgetting all about the freshman party!
The Ministry of Magic reacted very quickly afterwards.
In fact, Fudge was terrified and kept a close eye on the situation at Hogwarts—after Harry ran away from home, Dumbledore had subtly told him about Harry's importance.
He was more afraid than anyone else that Harry would be killed by Sirius Black.
After meeting the imprisoned Peter and receiving Dumbledore's endorsement, Fudge had no choice but to promise that the Ministry of Magic would soon issue a statement clearing Black of his name.
Although he seemed very reluctant—this matter would damage the Ministry of Magic's credibility.
However, after Professor McGonagall and Levi's ruthless attack on the Ministry of Magic and how reckless they were in sending Dementors, Fudge quickly compromised.
The Thestrals pulled the Ministry of Magic's carriage through the sky.
Inside the carriage, Peter Pettigrew was firmly bound to his seat in shackles. The ancient runes on the shackles glowed faintly, suppressing all his magic and sealing off his Animagus powers.
Opposite him, two elite Aurors with cold, sharp eyes watched over him like stone statues, their vigilant gazes never wavering.
The sky had been covered by dark clouds, making the interior of the carriage very dark.
But in the darkness, Peter couldn't help but chuckle to himself.
He survived!!!
His cheap tears, groveling before Harry Potter, actually brought him a chance to live!
As long as you survive, there's still a chance! What's the big deal about being locked up in Azkaban?
He knew that the Dark Lord was not truly dead. As long as the Dark Lord returned, all the Death Eaters would be freed, including him!
"Boom!"
A deafening clap of thunder roared through the dark clouds, and blue lightning flashed like celestial swords cleaving the sky and earth, splitting the rain and the waves.
Peter Pettigrew, however, burst into laughter amidst this terrifying celestial phenomenon!
Hehehe—hehehehe!!!
Peter's thin body trembled slightly with excitement, and he even felt that the deafening thunder was drumming up celebration for his cleverness.
"Boom--!"
Another pale bolt of lightning tore through the sky, illuminating the dark carriage as bright as day in an instant.
suddenly.
I don’t know when.
Another figure appeared inside the carriage.
He 'flowed' in through the window like a ghost, appearing abruptly and illogically in the empty seat next to Peter, as if he had always been sitting there, only to be revealed by the lightning at this moment.
Peter's smile, which hadn't fully blossomed, froze instantly.
What terrified him even more was that the two elite Aurors sitting opposite him were completely unaware of this, remaining like two most dutiful stone statues, their sharp eyes fixed on the distance.
This unbelievable scene made Peter tremble wildly.
"Please—please—"
His words were swallowed up as soon as they left his mouth.
No one covered his mouth, but his voice disappeared as soon as it left his lips.
"Peter, you're happy to have escaped, aren't you?"
The person sitting next to Peter spoke up.
"However, forgiving you is not a decision Harry can make alone; it's a matter for his whole family."
"So you have to go to another world and ask James and Lily if they're willing to forgive you."
"Boom--!"
Amid Peter's utterly terrified sobs, the colossal thunder beast completely engulfed the left half of the carriage.
