Hogwarts: A Chinese-Style Professor

Chapter 259 has a little agent

Duel Tower officially opened at 4 PM on Friday.

One by one, the pre-arranged small teams set off from the castle hall and rushed towards the location of the Duel Tower.

At the entrance of the Duel Tower, dozens of young wizards who had no classes had already gathered to wait.

The entrance to the Duel Tower has four huge archways, each inlaid with the emblem of one of the four academies.

Sirius found a giant magic clock from somewhere and hung it on the second floor of the tower. The hands were ticking away, and it was almost 16 PM.

Today is Sirius's home game.

The other professors simply stood in their designated observation positions and watched quietly.

The buzzing of conversation mingled with the crisp air, and just as the clock struck four, Sirius Black's cheerful voice boomed like thunder, and he appeared on the second-floor platform of the tower along with his flamboyant figure.

Instead of his usual black robe, he changed into a rather retro scarlet knight's outfit with gold trim, his long black hair flying wildly in the cold wind.

"Welcome to the Hogwarts Duel Tower—the most exciting student dueling arena in all of Britain, no, possibly the world!"

Sirius Black knew exactly what his students were thinking. After a simple opening remark, he snapped his fingers loudly, and his wand appeared in his hand without anyone noticing.

It was a simple little trick, but it was enough to elicit gasps of surprise from the younger students.

Sirius enjoyed their astonishment, and suddenly pointed the tip of his wand at the sky.

"boom--!!!"

Hundreds and thousands of hummingbirds made of orange sparks burst forth from the tip of his staff, their long, luminous tails piercing the dark sky.

The four archways began to slowly rise.

Sirius leaped from the platform, and at the same time, all the hummingbirds that had rushed into the sky exploded, turning into a golden rain of light that fell down in a flurry.

The light points touch the skin, bringing a comfortable warmth without being scorching.

The students' performances varied.

Harry blushed and clapped enthusiastically, as if he wanted everyone to know that the handsome wizard in front of him was his godfather.

Hermione, meanwhile, was deep in thought, wondering how this was accomplished. "Is this a combination of a fire spell and a transfiguration? But how is the temperature controlled?"

"What an arrogant person."

Amid Ron's gasp, Draco Malfoy crossed his arms and offered a dismissive assessment.

The three immediately glared at Malfoy, with Harry frowning and shouting:
"If you dare to cause trouble today, I won't let you get away with it."

"You think I'm afraid of you?" Malfoy curled his lip, then said seriously before Harry's emotions could escalate further, "Potter, I'm going to get first place in my third year this time."

Upon hearing this, Harry and Hermione's expressions both changed.

Malfoy noticed Hermione's change in expression and a playful look appeared on his face.

“Interesting. It seems that Porter isn’t the only competitor I have.”

Ron's ears perked up at these words—could it be that Malfoy had finally remembered that he was also his rival?

“Granger, if you get first place in third grade this year, I will apologize for what I said about you being a Mudblood before.”

After saying that, Malfoy left without waiting for Harry's response.

Ron and Harry's faces instantly turned red!

Because of Malfoy's words, they all instinctively looked at Hermione—Hermione's face immediately turned red. For a moment, all three of them were flushed.

With the opening of the Duel Tower, the students at Hogwarts have once again had their free time significantly reduced.

Originally, on weekends, students who couldn't join the Duel Club could still have four or eight hours of leisure time to themselves by working through the question bank in the guide and doing their homework.

Now look what's happened, they're all stuck in the Duel Tower.

Because of the unique ELO matchmaking system, even less skilled wizards can be matched with equally matched opponents, thus eliminating the possibility of losing confidence due to constant defeats.

In addition, the constantly vying rankings on the list greatly stimulated the nerves of all of them.

For a week straight, Sirius practically yelled as he chased away a group of reluctant children every time the Duel Tower closed.

The auditorium, the common room, even the classrooms before classes have started, or relatively less important classes like divination or Muggle studies.

Everywhere, at all times, was used to discuss duels.

The passion for dueling was so great that Professor McGonagall was worried—would the students neglect their other studies because they were so engrossed in dueling?
As it turned out, her concerns were not unfounded.

In the past, young wizards were obsessed with doing practice problems because they had no other choice—even if they were tired of studying, the pressure of rankings and the fact that everyone around them was doing the same thing meant they had no choice but to keep studying.

Now that the Duel Tower exists, the students' focus has shifted significantly – theory is important, but practice is just as important!
Previously, duels could only be initiated at school through eye contact, or to satisfy one's cravings at dueling clubs—this was far from enough to offset the sheer volume of knowledge in the manual.

With the Duel Tower, these students, who had been holding back their emotions, finally found a new outlet.

People like Ron and Seamus, who weren't particularly interested in studying to begin with, plunged right into it—now the guide serves them only as a quick memo tool for checking chat groups.

Except for Neville, who couldn't muster the courage for a long time—well, he did go once after being encouraged by Harry and Hermione.

Unfortunately, I was unlucky and was matched against Malfoy right away, where I was decisively and easily eliminated.

"If you're going to keep using that wand that's completely unsuitable for you, then never come back to the Duel Tower, Longbottom."

Neville listened to him and never went to the Duel Tower again—he never liked fighting anyway.

Hermione and Harry were furious when they heard Malfoy say such a thing, and they both hoped to run into Malfoy in the Tower and teach him a lesson!
They did indeed run into each other.

Hermione encountered him three times and lost twice.

Harry met her twice, winning once and losing once.

This greatly shocked both of them.

What made them even more upset was that Malfoy, who had lost to them once each, seemed even less able to accept his defeat than they were.

Unlike before, he didn't taunt Porter when he defeated him; instead, he coldly faced him with even greater seriousness when they were matched together a second time.

But he still lost to Potter's bizarre disarming spell.

One or two setbacks were very disheartening for the three students who all aimed to be first in the third grade.

But then came even more shocking news.

After two weeks of stabilizing points, none of them were ranked number one on the third-year duel leaderboard.

Instead, he swept through the fourth-grade students with an exceptionally skillful Explosion Spell.

Simon Finigan.
