Mysterious Resurrection: What If

Chapter 107 First Battle

Chapter 107 First Battle (Twenty-Four)

run!
At that moment, the two of them had only one thought in their minds: they shouldn't have touched that notebook.

Zhang Qing reacted the fastest. The corpse was some distance away from him, and the wheelchair beneath him immediately carried him away into the distance.

Liu Baimu was startled and immediately shouted at Zhang Qing, "Zhang Qing! Come back! We should work together to deal with this corpse. I'll tell you the secret of this old house after we get out!"

Zhang Qing didn't even turn his head. The wheels of his wheelchair were practically smoking as he ran faster than a dog, and there were even signs of him accelerating.

"Do you really think I'm an idiot? Don't think I don't know what you're thinking. You might get me killed someday after we get out. You shouldn't have touched that notebook. This ghost is obviously here to find you."

Liu Baimu behind him wanted to say something more, but his body suddenly froze, and he could no longer speak. He had completely lost control of his body.

There was a moment of silence behind him, but Zhang Qing didn't care and rushed several hundred meters away.

But the narrow passage seemed a bit too long, and he still couldn't see the end.

Just then, Zhang Qing saw a familiar figure appear in front of him and squinted slightly to look over.

Zhang Qing's expression changed; the person was actually Liu Baimu!

However, Liu Baimu looked unsteady at this moment, and his movements were extremely stiff, as if he were being manipulated by an invisible thread.

Zhang Qing did not hesitate and immediately turned around.

"Damn it... why did they find me? I didn't touch that notebook, there's no way it could have triggered the murder pattern!"

“Of course…” A man’s voice suddenly rang in Zhang Qing’s ear.

"Because what you found was not a ghost."

The next moment, Zhang Qing felt completely paralyzed, like a puppet on strings, his body slowly moving towards Liu Baimu on its own.

Out of the corner of his eye, Zhang Qing glanced at the man and was surprised to find that he looked exactly like the corpse from before.

The middle-aged man stretched out his arms and yawned, his bones cracking and popping as if he hadn't moved in a long time.

He let out a long sigh and muttered to himself:
"Finally, I'm free. Wang Lu, you're really ruthless. You locked me up without any mercy."

The surrounding environment gradually faded away, and the corridor reappeared beneath his feet. The man looked at the moonlight shining in.

"It seems that someone extraordinary has taken the clock through supernatural means. If it weren't for the notes, I might not even remember that the clock existed."

Liu Baimu stood frozen in place. He was not dead, but he was unable to move. The ghost inside his body seemed to be controlled by someone, and he could not use it at all.

His eyes were filled with disbelief. This was actually a living person, and a ghost tamer at that. He had been in the Wang family mansion for so long, yet he had never noticed his presence.

The middle-aged man turned to the two of them: "I have some questions for you, but I don't want to make things too complicated. For now, you two will become my ghosts."

The man looked at the two of them and asked them many questions. Under the control of the vengeful spirit, the two of them answered everything they knew.

During their conversation, the two unlucky men learned the man's name: Chen Qiaoyang.

A ghost tamer from the previous era was imprisoned in the dungeon of the old house by the Wang couple for decades, until today when he was finally freed because the old house was invaded.

As Chen Qiaoyang spoke, he kept staring at the gate of the Wang family's old house, as if waiting for something to appear.

“According to you, the Wang family is now in its third generation. I initially thought that after waking up I would witness a much more distant future, but it seems that the time has not been as long as I imagined.” Liu Baimu was no longer flustered. The ghost tamer from the previous era in front of him did not seem to be the kind of bloodthirsty villain. Even though his supernatural methods were extremely terrifying, he still maintained a clear mind.

"I don't know if you're lucky or unlucky. Judging from your condition, you two are not far from the resurgence of the vengeful spirits. You were probably planning to use the pendulum clock to restart your state, but I didn't expect the clock to be gone now. You are indeed free, but you also face the risk of resurgence."

Upon hearing this, Liu Baimu's face lit up with joy. He immediately said, "Do you have a way to slow down the revival? There are many ghost tamers like us here. If you can tell me, I can take you to them. They are a considerable force."

"Oh? A lot of ghost tamers?" A barely perceptible hint of surprise flashed in Chen Qiaoyang's eyes.

“That’s right!” Liu Baimu nodded emphatically several times.

"Although my memory is faulty, I guarantee there are at least twenty."

Chen Qiaoyang smiled knowingly and said, "There is indeed a method, but I'm afraid you won't be able to accept it."

Zhang Qing, who was standing next to him, immediately chimed in.

"As long as we can survive, that's all that matters! Only by surviving can we talk about anything else!"

"You're right, but I have something else to do before that."

As Chen Qiaoyang spoke, he walked toward the gate of the Wang family's old house. At some point, a gray-white figure appeared there, sometimes visible and sometimes not, seemingly not existing in reality.

This was a lifeless man, his body ashen and gray, like a corpse in a funeral portrait, standing stiffly in front of the old house, motionless.

As Chen Qiaoyang approached, the man slowly turned his head, his lifeless eyes staring blankly at the three of them.

"Wang Lu, you always tried to stop me while you were alive, but in the end you still fell into my hands."

Chen Qiaoyang approached cautiously with his hands behind his back, and it was clear that he was somewhat wary.

Behind him, however, several footsteps followed strangely. These footsteps varied in size and appeared on the ground in a rhythmic pattern, following Chen Qiaoyang's steps.

Chen Qiaoyang had no intention of holding back against the second generation of the Wang family. He had been extremely wary of Wang Lu and his wife when they were alive, and even though Wang Lu was dead and his wife was not here, Chen Qiaoyang was still prepared to go all out.

The reason he was able to survive the combined efforts of the second generation of the Wang family is because he was extremely cautious.

Chen Qiaoyang had stopped, and at this moment, four terrifying figures could be vaguely seen surrounding him.

The four corpses were all different in appearance, and they seemed to be four completely different vengeful ghosts.

But what's even more bizarre is that these four vengeful ghosts held hands and surrounded Chen Qiaoyang, as if four walls were protecting him in the center.

But upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that the four ghosts are more like imprisoning Chen Qiaoyang. He is trapped, but this is also a form of protection.

But these corpses only appeared for a moment before quickly disappearing again, as if the ghosts existed in a deeper realm of ghosts.

"Wang Lu, your methods weren't fast enough or ruthless enough back then. You failed to kill me then, so don't blame me for using you to kill your son now."

He gently pinched his wrist, and thick, dark blood immediately gushed out, emitting a putrid stench.

The blood that had dripped onto the ground began to wriggle and twist, forming several indistinct characters.

The next moment, Chen Qiaoyang felt the space around him suddenly disappear. The four vengeful ghosts had already begun their attack, hurtling towards Wang Lu's corpse.
