Chapter 52
[Original text]

Dao produces it, virtue produces it, things form it, and momentum [1] forms it.Therefore, everything respects Tao and honors virtue.Dao is respected, virtue is noble, Fumo's destiny[2] is always natural.

Therefore, Dao begets it, breeds it with virtue, nurtures it with growth, makes it the one that becomes [3], [4] it, and nurtures it overwhelms it [5].It is called "Xuande" to be born without being born, to be without relying on it, and to grow without being slaughtered.

Tao gave birth to all things in the world, morality nourished all things in the world, and the environment of heaven and earth gave all things different morphological characteristics. Under the interaction of various forces in the world, all things have their own growth and achievements.Therefore, there is nothing in the world that does not respect the Dao and values ​​virtue.Tao is respected by all things, and virtue is valued by all things. This is precisely because the two do not command and restrain all things, and all things will naturally have affection for them.

Therefore, the Dao breeds all things, virtue nourishes all things, and then helps all things to grow, nurtures all things, makes all things grow, bear fruits, and matures, and gives all things nourishment and shelter.Giving life to all things without taking them as our own, nourishing all things without taking credit for them, nourishing all things without controlling their fate, this is called "Xuan De".

"Xuande" means "Superior Virtue", as mentioned earlier, it is the spiritual embodiment of "Tao".In the relationship with all things, Xuande (Tao) gives life to all things, fulfills the nature of all things, helps all things to grow, mature, and bear fruit, without any interference, demand, or dominance.Everything goes with the flow, and everything in the world is accomplished in accordance with the spiritual concept of "Tao".
