A Race to Melt Hearts

I woke up drenched in sweat, I sat up and blink a few times. Trying to readjust my vision. The room is dimly lit, the digital clock shows 4:50 a.m., so technically the sun's about to rise in the east.

I moved forward till my feet reach the cold floor. I shakily stand at the side of the bed, resting my other hand on the side cabinet to ensure my balance. Then I slowly return the blanket to its original placement. Tidying up the bed.

I walk slowly towards the bathroom. Swiftly turning the lights on, while trying to bring myself to admit that today is another day to look forward to.

I sigh.

I locked the door and found myself standing right in front of the mirror. My hair's in a mess, but it's still magnificently soft, dyed in a rich black colour. My phoenix eyes have black irises, that highlights night rings. Very unusual indeed. I'm as pale as snow and I definitely look like a ghost standing in front of the mirror.

I chuckled, if I'm wearing a traditional Chinese attire with blood then I might look like that girl who has a ghostly appearance from a horror movie in HBO.

I striped my clothes off and turn the shower on. Then I set in.

I still can't help myself but think of what happened that night. Knowing it's been 6 days since that incident occurred.

"What do you think you're doing?"

"I'm trying to demonstrate what we need to do in public, you wouldn't want people getting suspicious about this sudden announcement of engagement when no one saw us together in an intimate manner. So might as well let's practice, so acting upfront would be easy as cake." There's a speck of evil glint in his eyes, while he showed a dazzling smile.

He's an inch closer to me. I wanted to close my eyes but he beat me before I could do it.

"Darling, never close your eyes when I kiss you, I want you to see the privilege of kissing me"
