Army of True Salvation

Shannara chased after Veon and then embraced him, making Veon stop in his tracks. He held Shannara's arms, as if to signal her of letting go, but Shannara shook her head on Veon's back as a protest and then spoke.

"I have always loved you, Veon. I was sad when I left Baguio but you made me happy when you gave me a lucky charm. I always thought of going back just to see you. I always thought of you being mine but I was recently dismayed to know that your heart is now in somebody else's hand."

"Shan—"

"You love Sheloah, right?"

This question made Veon's ears red and it irritated him so he aggressively removed Shannara's arms around his waist, making her wince.

"Why do you guys keep saying that I like her?"

Veon was now irritated by this point. He was sick and tired of people saying that he loved Sheloah.

Shannara looked down, avoiding his angry stare.

"You worry about her too much. Isn't that love?"

"Shannara, sorry," Veon apologized and Shannara looked at him as she fought back her tears. "I have no intentions of falling in love with someone. Especially in this kind of situation," he added and Shannara forced out a laugh.

"I'm sorry, Veon," she said and she wiped her tears, then looked at Veon as if nothing happened. "We will look for Sheloah tomorrow," she added then she walked away, leaving Veon behind.

Veon felt guilty when he saw how sad she was. He extended his hand as if to stop her, but he stopped midway.

He was dumbfounded at this point. Two girls have already confessed to him, at an inappropriate time: a zombie apocalypse.

He sighed as he sat down on the bench again. The moment he sat down, his phone suddenly buzzed and this puzzled him. He got his phone from his pocket and he checked to see who had texted him at this time of day.

"If you want to see her, you may. Just don't bring the former soldier. –K"

Veon just stared at his phone, confused.

How is the kidnapper acquainted with Dannie's father? He left a pseudonym "K" at the end, so what did that mean? The initial of his name? Or the first letter of the word "kidnapper"?

He kept his phone inside his pocket then he went inside to look for the others in order to make a plan.
