As The Wind Blows Your Scent To Me

Chapter 275 - Heh, No Wonder They Didn't Realize That I'm Already Home

Himari had two excellent guides as she familiarized herself with the villa; Chiharu and Izumi, especially the dumpling. She was more than excited to show the entire villa to Himari.

At the same time, Kazuya was busy at the office. He didn't stop working even when lunch hour arrived.

By the time Kazuya noticed that the clock already hit a quarter past two o'clock, all of the other staff had already returned from their lunch break.

"If Himari knew that you didn't go for lunch because you wanna finish work early, I don't think she would let you off easily."

Shuichi unceremoniously walked inside Kazuya's office with a brown paper bag in his hand. He placed the bag on top of Kazuya's working table.

"She won't know unless you sell me out," replied Kazuya.

He rose up on his feet then began to do a few stretchings. His whole muscles felt numb because he kept sitting in the same position. Yet, Kazuya was relieved because he had finished half of the important job for today.

"Hey, Taichi and I have already told you, right? If you wanna bring Himari out for a romantic dinner to commemorate her living with you, you can just leave the children to us."

The first time the twins caught wind of Himari's decision to live at the villa at the time being, they were excited. The brothers thought that it was good that there was a young lady living with their pitiful friend and the little siblings.

"And, I have answered it, right?" Kazuya poured a glass of plain water for himself, "Himari wants to have dinner with the children at home. The romantic dinner has to wait first."

Shuichi whistled, a look of satisfaction flickered in his eyes, "Thank goodness that you find a wife material lady after three years being a single dog ah. Well, even Taichi said you might have used up all your fortune to get a lady like her. Himari doesn't even mind about the siblings."

Every person's tolerance and preferences were different. The twins tacitly agreed that Kazuya and Himari were certainly a good match so far.

A person might change but if their friend was happy with Himari, there was no reason for them to overthink matters that might or might not happen in the future.

At least, Himari hadn't shown any signs of red flag behaviors.

Kazuya couldn't control his smile from softening as he listened to Shuichi's praises for Himari.

"Yeah, you're right. I've used my entire good luck to have her."

Shuichi suddenly shivered. He rubbed both of his arms, feeling goosebumps all over his body.

"Eww! Don't give that sugary look at me ah! It's disgusting!"

Kazuya rolled his eyes.

"Thank you for the sandwich. Now you can get out."

He didn't have time to entertain Shuichi's nonsensical drama.

"Okay, okay! I won't bother you any longer ah!"

Shuichi ran out of the office. Kazuya helplessly shook his head.

At half-past four o'clock, a certain man had successfully finished his job. Kazuya's steps were quick yet stable as he almost ran to where he parked his car.

"I'm just thankful that nothing nonsense happens today," murmured Kazuya as he drove on the road.

Because Kazuya had highly anticipated this day to come, he was dreading the possibilities of anything bad abruptly occurring. It seemed like he was thinking too much.

A little over five, Kazuya arrived at the villa.

For some reason, the blisteringly hot summer sun didn't feel scorching to him at all.

"Mr. Hayashi, you're already back? Welcome home."

Kazuya carefully put his leather shoes inside the shoe cabinet. He wore the house slippers, eyes glancing around as he walked, "Where are they?"

Aunt Mayu chuckled, "Chiharu brought Teacher Kato to the backyard. Izumi followed them."

"Okay. Ah, you may get off work earlier, Aunt Mayu."

"Thank you, Mr. Hayashi. Then, I'll take my leave now."

"Thank you for your hard work today."

Aunt Mayu didn't delay in going home from work. She quickly made herself scarce, knowing full well that her employer wanted to have private time with his lady.

Kazuya didn't immediately go to the backyard. He went upstairs to change out of his work outfit first. After freshening up a little, Kazuya finally made his way outside of the villa.

"Heh, no wonder they didn't know I'm already home."

Kazuya let out a low laugh once he saw what the three of them were doing.

He felt weird because usually, Chiharu would happily run to him every time she heard the car engine's sound.

At first, Kazuya just assumed that the three of them were too engrossed in playing together but...

It turned out that all three of them were peacefully napping in the backyard.

After the early summer rain ceased to fall, Kazuya set up a tent under a tree. The tent was spacious, allowing him to place a mattress inside.

Himari and Chiharu were napping on the mattress, the small fan that hung from the tent ceiling was blowing wind.

A gentle summer wind breezed in from the opening, lightly fluttering their skirts. Chiharu's toys and board games were scattered on the mat next to the mattress.

On the other hand, Izumi napped while lying on a hammock. Kazuya hung the hammock under the boy's request. An orange and furry puddle curled up on his stomach, sleeping along.

"When I was busy working, all three of you have already started sleeping together?"

Another gentle laugh escaped Kazuya's lips.

Because it was still early, Kazuya just let them sleep more. He quietly got inside the tent, tidied the toys and games then lay on the mat with both arms crossed behind his head.

"Hurm, I'll just let you borrow my girlfriend for now," Kazuya glanced at the dumpling before his eyes fell on his lady.

This was something that he had desired long ago, coming home to such a heartwarming scene.

Kazuya didn't long for a massive amount of wealth. It was already enough if he could raise his family up comfortably. There was no need for a huge and gigantic mansion to ensure the happiness of the family of his own.

He only wished that he won't build a family as to how his parents had done before.

Any cold and indifferent feelings weren't welcomed to his home.

Himari, Chiharu and Izumi gradually woke up sometime later. All three of them were surprised to find Kazuya lying inside the tent.

The man was sleeping deeply as if he had been lying there for a long time already.

"Ah, when did Uncle come home?" asked Chiharu. Her chubby finger gently poked on Kazuya's right cheek.

"Hurm, why don't we just let your uncle rest?" Himari made a suggestion, "He seems tired."

Truthfully speaking, Himari already saw faint traces of exhaustion on Kazuya's face when he came to pick her up this morning.

The dumpling nodded so did Izumi who had climbed down the hammock. He carried Chobi in his arms.

"Uncle slept late last night," reported Izumi, "He was still working in the study before I went to sleep."

Himari tapped a finger on her chin, thinking of what should she do.

"Let's see the ingredients inside the fridge? Why don't we cook together?"

Since she couldn't bear to wake her man up after thinking of what little rest he had these days, Himari decided to forgo the idea of going grocery shopping with Kazuya.

Well, they could still do it on another day.

"Okay~"

Chiharu was quick to agree.

"Okay."

So did Izumi.

The three of them let Kazuya continue napping inside the tent. Because the tent was built up under a tree, the leaves helped to dispel the summer heat.

Fortunately, there were fresh ingredients bought by Aunt Mayu yesterday. Himari took out the frozen ground beef and the vegetables. The two children were waiting for more instructions.

"Why don't we have hamburger steaks tonight?"

"Delicious~ Chiharu wants it!"

"I'm okay with everything."

Himari refrained from laughing as she noticed how these siblings just went along with her.

"Then, while we let the beef defrost, let's prepare the other ingredients first? I'll make the sauce too."

"Chiharu wash wash vegetables?"

"Teacher, I can peel the potatoes to make wedges."

Thus, the three of them worked together in the kitchen to prepare dinner. The sun was almost setting when Himari told the siblings to go upstairs and have a shower.

"I just need to grill the vegetables and cook the beef patties," Himari untied Chiharu's apron. The dumpling obediently raised up her hands, "Take your time showering, en?"

"Hehe, okay~" Chiharu gave a peck on Himari's cheek.

She was happy because she could cook together with her favorite aunt-to-be.

Izumi brought Chiharu upstairs, leaving Himari alone in the kitchen.

"En, it's about time to cook the patties," murmured Himari to herself as she looked at the clock.

But...

Had Kazuya woken up yet?

Himari silently thought that it was better to go and check on her man first.

"...ah!"

Her thoughts vanished the moment a pair of arms snaked around her waist from behind.

"Why you didn't wake me up? Did you go shopping alone?"

Kazuya's voice still sounded sleepy as he rested his chin on Himari's shoulder.

"You slept so peacefully, honey," Himari loosened Kazuya's arms then turned around to face him. She laughed the moment she saw his half-opened eyes, "How could you're still sleepy? Go and take a bath. The children have gone upstairs."

Kazuya tilted his head, "Do you know... what I'm thinking right now?"

"What is it?" Himari was intrigued.

A smile softened Kazuya's face as he whispered, "You look like a wife who is urging her children to go bathing while you continue cooking dinner and I'm the husband who has just returned from work."

"What husband ah..." Himari blushed, "And, you've just woken up instead of coming home from work."

"Hehehe," Kazuya laughed, "Then, let this husband help his wife cooking dinner."

Himari blinked.

Did this guy dream of something weird before waking up?
