The battle was so brief that it couldn't even be called a battle.

This was simply a massacre.

As a guardian deity, the giant eagle was unstoppable and invincible against the Dementors.

No Dementor could stop its advance.

The giant eagle is much faster than the Dementors, and the Dementors have no chance to fight back against it.

Once you're targeted by a giant eagle, it basically means you're going to leave something behind.

Arms, legs, or even, like the first unfortunate victim, heads pecked off by giant eagles, rendering them immobile and helpless.

It was like a wolf among sheep.

In the blink of an eye, the giant eagle had scattered the remaining Dementors.

The carriage was filled with gray-black smoke.

Those were body parts that the Dementors were forced to leave behind after being attacked by the giant eagle.

Chapter 41 Capture Completed

A moment later, the pure white giant eagle turned around and returned to Eric's side.

At this point, there was no trace of the Dementors left inside the carriage.

After the giant eagle flew by, all that remained were wood chips, sheet metal, torn floorboards, and broken glass doors and windows.

All in all it was a mess.

The horrific scene silenced the students who peeked out from the surrounding cubicles.

Like I said, they've never seen anything like this before.

As it passed the Dementor whose head it had pecked off, the giant eagle did not forget to pick it up again with its beak.

As if showing off its hunting spoils, the giant eagle carried the Dementor's tattered cloak and body in its beak, swaggering around in the air.

Its gaze was so sharp that the other students in the carriage who dared to stick their heads out and make eye contact with it had to avoid eye contact.

Excited growls continued to emanate from the giant eagle's beak.

As the giant eagle's head swayed, the Dementor beneath its beak resembled a tattered rag, swaying in the wind, having lost all its terrifying aura.

This Dementor was not killed; Dementors cannot die.

Even in this state, if it were thrown back into Azkaban, it would still be able to slowly recover by drawing upon the remnants of dark magic within Azkaban's castle.

It just takes time.

But now, it has lost its ability to move.

It will continue to exist in this form for at least the next six months, like a walking corpse.

Looking at his spoils, Eric silently counted to himself, "Thirteen."

This is also the total number of Dementors that broke into this carriage.

Except for the one Dementor that was captured by the giant eagle, the rest of the Dementors escaped.

However, they have all lost some of the soul energy they depended on for survival.

At least, far more than the total energy they absorbed when they boarded this train.

Presumably, they will pass this information on to the Dementors in the other carriages.

The aisle and walls of the carriage were now unrecognizable, with wood chips and glass shards scattered everywhere, and several deep scratches on the walls.

Those were the traces left by the giant eagles slaughtering the Dementors.

However, the oppressive chill that had been emanating from the carriage had completely dissipated.

The temperature inside the carriage has returned to a comfortable level.

But still, no one dared to speak.

After witnessing the giant eagle that Eric summoned, almost everyone looked at Eric with a clear sense of fear.

Along with fear, there was also a touch of reverence.

This was their unanimous opinion.

Prior to this, very few students had the opportunity to come into contact with Dementors.

They had no idea how to deal with Dementors.

The mere presence of this ominous creature was enough to extinguish any thought of resistance in them.

If, during this process, a Dementor accidentally gives a student a Dementor kiss, then things will be in serious trouble.

Eric's later appearance undoubtedly saved them.

At least, the giant eagle he summoned was even more terrifying than the Dementors.

In the magical world, strength inevitably reigns supreme.

Capable people are respected everywhere.

Eric, with the demeanor of a freshman, accomplished what they couldn't.

How could they not admire that?

Eric smiled and looked around. Among them was a younger girl who blushed and almost cried after making eye contact with Eric.

After confirming that there were no other targets, Eric chuckled dismissively and said to the giant eagle, "This is all that's left. Bring it back."

After saying that, Eric opened the items he had brought with him when he came out of the cubicle and spread them out on the floor.

It was an ordinary-looking suitcase.

It was a gift that Eric received from Merkel, the owner of Flourish and Blotts.

Falco's travel trunk

When the guardian spirit was summoned inside the compartment, the resulting chaos blew the suitcase right to Eric's feet.

It's important to know that Dementors are creatures that are extremely rare and hard to come by.

They spend almost all their time in Azkaban.

The Ministry of Magic would not normally allow Dementors to leave Azkaban without permission.

Moreover, their numbers are now strictly limited by the Ministry of Magic.

Every Dementor is registered and strictly controlled.

Normally, the sudden disappearance of a Dementor would certainly raise the alarm of the Ministry of Magic.

Eric couldn't possibly travel all the way to Azkaban just to capture Dementors.

But the situation is different now.

The Dementors intercepted the Hogwarts Express.

This should be enough to enrage the Ministry of Magic.

Only in such chaos could Eric directly approach and capture the defenseless Dementors without attracting the attention of the Ministry of Magic.

After all, it was the Dementors' own fault for courting death, so it's only natural that one or two would go missing in this situation.

Leaving aside the Dementors' unique survival mode and physical structure.

Eric was intrigued by the mysterious origins of the Dementors.

Eric believed that, in matters concerning the soul, the immortal Dementors were more than adequate experimental subjects.

Given time, this Dementor will surely be able to answer many of his questions.

Come here, little photographer, come into Uncle's bag.

The giant eagle understood, let out a screech, and, carrying the remnants of the Dementor's body in its beak, turned and flew to the back of the carriage.

Just as the students watching around were wondering what was going on.

With a single flap of its wings, the giant eagle swiftly flew past the doors of each compartment, all the way to the other end of the carriage.

"what!"

A strong wind swept through, and cries of alarm rang out.

The wind and waves stirred up by the giant eagle forced the students watching to turn away, cursing under their breath as they closed the cubicle door, no longer looking directly at Eric.

After obscuring everyone's view, the giant eagle seized the opportunity to fly back to Eric's side with the Dementor in its beak, and stuffed the Dementor into the box.

Eric flicked his wand, and Falco's travel trunk automatically opened the mysterious little room.

The enormous Dementor, as if made of jelly, was squeezed into a ball and automatically sucked into the box as soon as it approached the opening.

Dementor captured!

This scene made Eric wonder when he could modify Falco's travel trunk, making it round and painting it red and white.

We need to install a light.

After confirming that the Dementors were imprisoned in the box, Eric put the box away with satisfaction, patted the wings of the giant eagle beside him again, and said, "Thank you for your hard work."

The giant eagle let out a low growl, its eyes gleaming brightly. It spread its wings and flapped them forcefully, creating another strong gust of wind in the carriage, causing the entire carriage to shake.

Eric smiled nonchalantly and casually waved his wand, thus dispelling the Patronus Charm.

The giant eagle instantly turned into white smoke and dissipated.

The moment Eric dispelled the Patronus spell.

Another series of hurried footsteps came from behind Eric, along with a few exclamations.

"Eric!"

"My God, you did all of this by yourself?"

"Merlin..."
