Rozburg.
"Perhaps something went wrong."
Norn stood in front of the control tower, looking at the battle reports coming back from the front lines, feeling somewhat puzzled.
Not long ago, they secretly dispatched another task force to Earth to raid a top-secret Sky Eye Society stronghold.
Once again, despite having made various preparations beforehand, including different tactics and advanced weapons and equipment, almost none of them were put to use.
Led by three Kryptonians and accompanied by several Rozburg aliens with relatively strong racial abilities, they basically overwhelmed the stronghold in one fell swoop.
It wasn't entirely without resistance; after all, while Earth's spiritual energy was recovering and civilization's technological level wasn't great, there were still quite a few superhumans. The Sky Eye also pulled out a superhuman, a warrior codenamed "Captain Iron." He had been modified at the DNA level, his entire skeleton replaced by a special metal, his body a combination of a few enhanced human tissues and most of a special alloy.
The properties of the alloy granted him super strength and speed, as well as an invulnerable body. Of course, this was completely inadequate in front of the Kryptonians.
The intervention of the super soldiers did little to change the outcome. The Kryptonian criminals easily dealt a heavy blow to the Sky Eye organization, encountering almost no effective resistance.
So Norn is feeling a bit lost now. He's served in the Kryptonian military his entire life and has never encountered such a bizarre opponent.
You might say he's strong, but in a real fight, he's like a bronze-level player. All your preparations and predictions beforehand are useless; a simple basic attack from him would be a devastating disaster.
But if you say they're bad, it's in a strangely unsettling way, giving off a mysterious vibe that they might just crash and burn if you're not careful.
Just as he was pondering this, General Zod walked up from behind and said in a dry tone.
"The planetary engines are ready for operation."
Norn looked at him in surprise: "So fast?"
“Of course.” Zod glanced at him. “Like we said before, if your method doesn’t work, then we’ll have to do it my way.”
Norn knew perfectly well what Zod meant by "doing this."
Zod's tactics did indeed have that characteristic reckless style of Kryptonians, as described by Batman. No scheming, no pretense, just going straight for the kill.
The initial planetary engines will directly push across the Earth's surface, giving all of humanity a physical cleansing. Anyone who comes looking for them will be dealt with—simple and brutal.
"What? You have a problem with that?" Zod frowned and glanced at Norn.
“I’m not sure. But I’m wondering if it’s too fast,” Norn pondered. “The enemy’s true strength is still unknown, perhaps…”
“There’s no time to dawdle,” Zod said calmly. “The reconstruction of New Krypton is urgent, and every second is precious. We’ve observed things closely enough. This human defense force you’re talking about is just a bunch of useless level three civilization idiots, posing no threat to us whatsoever.”
“But it’s also a fact that we’ve lost men here,” Norn argued. “I think we should send in spies to gather more intelligence.”
"That's not necessary."
Zod waved his hand, seemingly determined to follow his railway line to the end.
"Now all we need is Karl El and the Central Codex that his father sent away. Enough said, either join us or stay out of the way."
We will stop at nothing to rebuild Krypton, and any obstacle must be cleared, including you. Join us, or get out of the way.
Seeing the other party so arrogant on his own turf, Norn couldn't help but feel a surge of anger. But then he thought about it again. One after another, his subordinates were like the Calabash Brothers trying to save their grandfather, all of them going to Earth to donate their blood, and even his wife went to Earth and hasn't returned yet. In a sense, he lost both his wife and his army.
Although he still has a squad of loyal Kryptonian warriors under his command, compared to Zod's army, he's essentially a lone commander. It seems he really doesn't have much authority to interfere.
So he had no choice but to swallow his anger and say, "Fine, we'll do it your way."
Zod nodded in satisfaction and turned to walk to the tower.
"Now, give a message to our Kryptonian compatriots on Earth. The new Kryptonian war is about to begin!"
Olympus.
"I'm being targeted, I'm definitely being targeted!"
Apollo, his face bruised and swollen, shouted loudly.
"Alright, alright, you've said it so many times already." The Goddess of Strife sat on the windowsill next to her, her pale legs dangling in the air, swinging back and forth, with a grin on her face. "We all know you got beaten up by Wonder Woman's friends again, so you don't need to keep emphasizing it."
Apollo couldn't sit still any longer and jumped up: "Are you deaf? I told you, I'm being targeted! That little girl, she's draining my energy again!"
This is absolutely bizarre! One, two, three of them are specifically targeting me, what can I do?
Queen Hera stared at him with half-closed eyes.
"Don't stare at me like that!" Apollo roared. "Even if I fail, I am still the sun god."
As he was talking, he got too emotional, and his still-healing nasal cavity cracked again, causing a stream of blood to flow.
So the great sun god had to tilt his head back, pinch his nose, and try to suck the blood back in.
"Alright, we know the situation, but it's irrelevant now," Hera scoffed. "It doesn't matter. I had an appointment with Hades and Poseidon last night."
Upon hearing this, the Goddess of Conflict's eyes widened immediately. She jumped off the windowsill and dashed over, her face full of expectant anticipation.
"Mother, you finally gave in to them? Where did you do it? Did they all do it together or in shifts?"
“It was just a conversation.” Hera glared at her fiercely.
"Tch, they're just talking."
The Goddess of Strife found the boss boring, so she went back to her seat and started eating an apple.
"In short, we have reached an agreement." Hera, wrapped in a large feather robe, said coldly, "We all agree that the position of God-King has been vacant for too long, but no matter who is appointed as the next God-King, the other gods will inevitably be dissatisfied."
Even though Hades and Poseidon have explicitly stated that they believe I lack the authority to appoint the next God-King, they will not recognize whoever I choose.
“Whether they acknowledge it or not is irrelevant,” Apollo grumbled. “Once I sit on that throne and divine authority is in my hands, they will have no choice but to acknowledge it.”
Hera glanced at him and said calmly, "It's not certain who will sit in that position anymore, Apollo. We all agree that the new god-king needs to be chosen through a test and competition among the gods."
"What!?"
Apollo, who had just sat down, sprang up again, looking utterly shocked.
The nosebleed that had just stopped started flowing again due to emotional excitement.
"This isn't what we agreed on!" he shouted. "You promised, you said you'd save the spot for me!"
"And you didn't keep your promise either."
Hera rolled her eyes at him, her face expressionless.
"This is the only way that everyone can accept. Zeus ascended to the throne through his strength, and now he must do the same, and can only do it this way."
So if I were you, Apollo, I would prepare well now and perform well when the time comes. That way, when the assessment comes, you might still have a chance.
Chapter 187 A Mere Team of Kryptonians
"So... a magic wishing stone?"
At HISHE Cafe, Clark Kent sipped his coffee while giving Diana a strange look.
"Such a thing really exists."
“Yes. Thirty years have passed, and I still find it incredible when I think about it.” Diana shrugged.
She is sharing her thrilling adventure from 1984 with her new friends.
"So you wished for your pilot friend to come back, and the price was your superpowers?" Kara asked.
"I'd say that's about right," Diana nodded.
Clark took a sip of coffee and thought for a moment.
"I don't think it's so bad. I've thought more than once how great it would be if I didn't have superpowers and could be like other ordinary kids. If it could bring back someone important to me, that would actually be pretty good."
If someone else had said this, it might have sounded a bit like Versailles, but Superman truly felt this way from the bottom of his heart. More than his abilities to fly and teleport, he just wanted to be an ordinary kid on the Kent farm.
"I don't know, I think superpowers are pretty good." Kara tilted her head. "It would be great if I could have both wishes granted and superpowers."
The little Kryptonians have unknowingly been assimilated into the "I want it all" mentality.
"And you guys stole an airplane from a museum, that doesn't feel good," Da Chao said. "It's really strange that the airplane in the museum could actually fly, and it even had fuel in its tank."
Shen You, who had just come out of the lab and had been listening in for a while, couldn't help but ask.
"And where did you say you flew to in that plane again?"
"Fly to Egypt."
"About how far did it fly?"
“I don’t remember very well,” Diana thought for a moment. “Maybe it was more than six thousand miles.”
"You mean, the plane you got from the museum in 1984, which could fly 6,000 miles on a single tank of fuel?" Clark tilted his head and thought for a moment. "Wow."
“I even used magic to make the plane invisible,” Diana shrugged. “You don’t need to know so much about magic.”
“That makes sense.” Shen You indicated that he accepted this premise.
“And then there’s that entrepreneur you mentioned, whose wish on the wishing stone was, ‘I want to become you,’” Kara also said. “And then he didn’t turn into a stone himself? That’s pretty strange. I thought you were going to say that after he made his wish, he turned into another wishing stone, and then there were two identical stones.”
Oh, by the way, speaking of which, is that rock still there?
“Of course not.” Diana glanced at her and smiled. “So, if it were still there, what would you like to wish for?”
"I want my family, I want to come back to Krypton," the little girl said earnestly, tilting her head as if she had thought of something, then looking at Shen You, "Ah, but I also want Shen You to be with me. It would be nice if we were all on Krypton together."
It's that one, "I want them all.JPG".
"What? You don't want this kind of wish?"
“I think I’m doing just the way I am right now.” Clark adjusted his glasses, took a sip of coffee, and smiled. “I have everything I’ve ever wanted.”
Titano, the little monkey hanging from the chandelier, chirped a few times. But only Shen You understood; it was saying it wanted an endless supply of bananas and all the teddy bears in the world.
Where is Shen You?
Kara blinked her big eyes, seemingly full of anticipation.
Da Chao and WW also turned their gazes over, seemingly very curious about what Shen You would say he wanted.
"Me? Nothing much. Just world peace, and everyone's hearts turning towards the light."
This seemed to have caught Kara off guard, causing her to pause for a moment.
"I'm serious." Shen You said earnestly, "If you don't believe me, I can repeat it while holding the heroine's rope."
In fact, it's not just him; this should be the common wish of everyone in their Land of Light, from top to bottom.
"Wow." Kara exclaimed with admiration. "I knew you were a good person, but even so, I never expected this."
As he spoke, he even looked a little ashamed.
