I'm only thinking about myself.

Clark patted him on the shoulder with an admiring look: "Me too. But I firmly believe we can achieve this without stones, sooner or later, definitely."

Snapped.

The lights suddenly went out.

It wasn't just the lights. It included cell phones, computers, all electronic devices, and even the streetlights outside the window. It was as if an invisible hand had suddenly stolen the light, plunging the entire city into darkness.

"What's going on?" The group was all taken aback.

"Is there a power outage?" Kara asked.

“The whole city has shut down.” Clark quickly scanned the area with his X-ray vision and frowned. “This scale is usually not a good thing.”

"Sir, we have detected radio waves from extraterrestrial technology that are transmitting images to all electronic devices."

Pal didn't log off and quickly sent Shen You a reminder.

Shen You casually took out a phone, and sure enough, a video was already playing automatically on the screen. A white background, a jarring static sound, and a single sentence repeated over and over.

You are not alone. You are not alone.

A blurry figure then appeared.

"My name is General Zod, and I come from a faraway place."

“Your world has sheltered two of our people. One of them is already quite well-known, and we believe you call him ‘Superman’.”

"I demand that you return them to me. You have twenty-four hours, or the world will suffer the consequences."

"."

After the message was relayed, the screen flickered briefly before quickly returning to normal. The lights came back on, and the city returned to its original state.

But everyone knows that some things have changed.

A brief silence fell over the coffee shop.

All eyes were drawn to Superman and Supergirl, the two Kryptonians.

“They’re coming for us.” After a moment of silence, Clark said, “They are Kryptonian survivors, and I have to go see them.”

"It's recorded in Kara's spaceship database. General Zod is your Krypton's highest-ranking war criminal, and he's being held in the Phantom Zone."

“Like my aunt and uncle,” Kara frowned slightly. “Will they keep in touch?”

"We can't rule out that possibility." Shen You nodded.

“But we had no choice but to step forward,” Clark said. “He is likely not alone; he likely has an army. That means there are a large number of Kryptonians, each as strong as one of us.”

"don’t worry."

Shen You patted him on the shoulder and smiled slightly.

General Zod's invasion is similar to the plot of "Man of Steel." In the movie, it was a landmark battle in the DCEU, where the battle between Superman and Zod nearly destroyed half a city, killed millions of people, and triggered a series of chain reactions, including Superman's death.

If this had happened a few months ago, there might have been limited options for Shen You. He wasn't sure how much he could have done when facing an entire squad of fully armed Kryptonians.

But now.

A mere squad of Kryptonian prisoners, how could they possibly cause any trouble?

Chapter 188 Home is gone

In outer space, on General Zod's mothership.

A Kryptonian commander walked onto the bridge and asked in a cold voice, "How's the progress?"

"The modification of the device is basically complete."

An engineer stood up and showed the engineering drawings to the commander.

"We are currently ahead of General Zod's expectations, and the engines are ready. We are now starting the engines in preparation for final testing."

Once successful, the engine can be put into operation. Rozburg will serve as the center of the terraforming device, releasing gravitational waves towards Earth, sweeping across the planet's surface and helping us transform it into a new Krypton.

"Very good." The commander nodded in satisfaction. "They will be very happy when the general returns."

At this moment, Zod and a small team, along with Norn, took the Kryptonians from Rozburg to Earth. Apparently, after they issued a television warning, they discovered that the Earth organization called the Sky Eye Society was up to something again.

However, nobody took it seriously anymore. After these recent clashes, they all realized that this so-called "Sky Eye Society" was just a bunch of complete noobs and posed no real threat.

The commander thought for a moment and asked, "How much time has passed in Earth time since General Zod demanded the handover of Karl-El?"

"About four hours."

A communications officer nearby pressed a crystal. A crystal panel appeared, and black, sand-like particles combined to form a countdown.

"According to Earth time, they have twenty hours left on their deadline."

"Oh, it's still so long!"

The commander paced back and forth irritably.

"I knew the general was being too lenient by giving them 24 hours."

At that moment, someone on the bridge suddenly shouted, "Sir, something has just broken through the atmosphere at extremely high speed and is approaching us!"

"What? Show me the footage!"

Countless crystals began to combine, and the ever-changing black matter, against the backdrop of the crystals, materialized into a model-like entity, functioning similarly to a surveillance monitor.

From the 3D model, one could clearly see that flying towards them was none other than the Son of Kel'Thuzad, whom Zod claimed to be searching for, Kal'El, the Superman known to humans.

He was dressed in a dark blue uniform, with a brightly colored cloak fluttering behind him, and he was carrying something huge and black on his hands.

Upon closer inspection of the model, it appears to be a spaceship?

"That's the spaceship Karl was on when he was escaping Krypton!" the operator exclaimed.

The commander's eyes gleamed: "General Zod said our primary mission is to find this ship, which holds the secrets of the Central Codex. Ha! It seems Kal-El's Kryptonian bloodline has awakened, and he's surrendering to us with the Central Codex!"

The commander was overjoyed and immediately waved his hand.

"Open the hatch! Welcome the Son of Krypton back to his rightful place! Inform General Zod of this good news. With Kal-El and the Central Codex, the establishment of the new Krypton is a foregone conclusion!"

“But, sir,” an operator timidly reminded him, “when the general spoke, he only said that Earth should hand over our compatriots. We didn’t seem to mention the Central Codex. How would Karl-El know about it?”

"Eh?"

The commander paused, then blinked.

Right, something does seem off.

"Wait!" The engineer's expression suddenly changed, as if he had realized something terrible. "We escaped from the Phantom Zone using Phantom Drive technology!"

If Karl-El's ship also uses Phantom Drive, the collision of the two engines would create a singularity, a black hole—a black hole leading directly to the Phantom Zone!

In fact, the Zod's mothership in the movie "Man of Steel" was also dealt with by the human side using this method. They directly used a transport plane to airdrop Superman's baby spaceship, and the two phantoms drove a physical collision that absorbed Zod's entire army.

The timeline shifted. A group of Kryptonians, without even having seen the movie, sensed what was about to happen.

"Damn it, activate the shield! Fire!" the commander roared. "Take him down!"

"It's impossible!" The operator exclaimed, his face pale. "The system has been hacked by someone unknown. All weapons are locked and require ten seconds to reboot."

They clearly didn't have ten seconds left.

Superman flew into the sky, hoisted his spaceship, and hurled it with all his might. The small spaceship, propelled by his divine power, spun and hurtled towards Zod's mothership.

The violent impact shattered the Kryptonite alloy shell instantly. The energies of the two Phantom Engines collided, and dimensional energy broke free of the restraining shell, transforming into a massive, pitch-black vortex!

As if a terrifying claw were tearing at the entire spaceship, tiny cracks instantly spread across the hull. The mothership twisted and deformed, bursting forth with dazzling sparks of energy, like a grand fireworks display illuminating the dark universe.

No one can escape the vortex of the Phantom Zone, not even Kryptonians.

In what seemed like an instant, the mothership, carrying a whole ship full of curses, was swept into the whirlpool and disappeared without a trace.

Superman clapped his hands and exclaimed in delight, "Ha, just as Mr. Shen said! I thought it was going to be a fierce battle!"

Kara gave him a prototype Kryptonian suit. It outwardly resembled Superman's classic red and blue uniform, but in reality, a force field emanated from the "S" badge on his chest, enveloping his entire body. This force field was designed to interact with Superman's own bio-field, making it indestructible while also resisting radiation from Kryptonite, the red sun, and other sources.

He is also communicating remotely using the built-in system of his suit.

“Yeah, yeah, an entire ship full of Kryptonian hardened criminals with the same power as us. Just thinking about it is terrifying,” Kara said on the other end of the communication, sticking out her tongue with lingering fear.

"Fortunately, we are a cut above the rest."

"Don't get too cocky," Shen You said calmly. "Zod will soon find out that the mothership has been attacked. He should be back soon. Before that, we need to make arrangements here so that he feels as warmly welcomed as if he were coming home."

This statement made Kara burst out laughing.

For some reason, upon hearing Shen You say "a warm welcome as if coming home," she suddenly felt a pang of sympathy for Zod.

boom!

The missiles bombarded the dark Kryptonian spaceship in mid-air, creating dazzling bursts of fire, but they only grazed the outer blue energy shield without causing any effect.

Yellow sand filled the air, the sun blazed fiercely, and dust billowed up from the tracks of the tanks. Fighter jets swooped in, tearing through the azure sky, unleashing a barrage of missiles from their pylons.

But they take off, seemingly only to fall.

A completely pointless attack was effortlessly thwarted by a Kryptonian squad. The aftershocks of the explosion created fireballs in the air, burning wreckage of vehicles and tanks flew everywhere, and severed limbs and corpses littered the ground as energy beams from Kryptonian weapons vaporized everything.

General Zod stood with his hands behind his back on the ground, side by side with his adjutant Fiora, silently watching the easy battle unfold.

“Weak and easily defeated,” Zod shook his head. “They are hardly worthy of being called opponents.”

Norn, standing beside him, had a stern face and remained silent.

Just then, a Kryptonian appeared at supersonic speed from the mothership behind them, urgently shouting, "General! General!"

"Calm down, Leonard. Didn't I tell you that the most important thing on the battlefield, no matter what, is to stay calm?"

Zod spoke indifferently, displaying the demeanor of a master strategist.

Tell me, what happened?

"Everything's gone!" Leonard shouted. "Our mothership's been stolen!"

"What!?"

Zod's eyes widened into saucers on the spot.
