The Tomb Demon stood frozen in place, dumbfounded.

A thought that even he found somewhat absurd popped into his mind involuntarily.

Could it be that Ashura chickened out?

His shock lasted until the light faded, and Shen You slowly floated down in front of him. A bone-chilling cold followed, almost penetrating to his very bones. The near-painful cold dragged him back to reality, and he realized that his protective armor had vanished without a trace.

His armor was originally granted by the power of the hungry ghosts, the same ice crystal structure covering his body. Three spirits, through that ice crystal structure, were attached to him, appearing as three terrifying faces. But the Tomb Demon firmly believed that they were his family.

He believed this was the boundary between life and death, and that it was here he had found the souls of his deceased wife and children. He attached his family's souls to himself so that they would never be separated again.

But now, they've all disappeared.

He lost them once again.

"No!"

The Tomb Demon knelt on the ground. All the extraordinary abilities had left him along with the armor, and he had now reverted to the state he had been in before he found this temple.

He was terminally ill, on the verge of death, and so thin he looked like a dried-up corpse, with tears streaming down his face from his sunken eyes.

"You took them away! Why did you take them away?!" he cried out in despair. "I'm so lonely all alone. I miss them so much."

"David?"

A woman's voice came from behind him. The familiar voice sent a shiver down his spine. He turned around stiffly and slowly, as if afraid that turning around would shatter his beautiful dream.

Then he saw his wife.

She wasn't some ethereal spirit, nor did she possess the hideous form of a hungry ghost. She looked and sounded just as she did when she was alive.

Even when he timidly reached out his hand, their fingers intertwined, and the touch still felt warm.

"father!"

His children ran up excitedly and hugged him tightly.

The Tomb Demon choked with sobs, unable to speak, but opened his arms and used all the remaining strength in his dying body to embrace them tightly, as if he would never be separated again.

Deep down, he had already realized that what he found in the temple wasn't the soul of a deceased person at all, but merely a trick by ghosts and monsters.

He just never had the courage to face reality.

So even though he always carried his "family" with him and talked to them every day, he could never escape the immense loneliness and emptiness, the fear of being abandoned alone in this cold world.

Until now.

This was the first time since he lost his family that he was no longer alone.

He felt calm.

But he was destined to die young. He was supposed to die of illness with his family, but the extraordinary beings he found extended his life until now. Now that those mysterious powers have dissipated, he has naturally returned to his original state.

But he was no longer afraid.

In its final moments, the Tomb Demon slowly turned its head toward Shen You, its lips trembling, and used its last strength.

".Thanks."

Shen You nodded slightly.

"You're welcome."

The physical manifestations created by the blue light energy dissipated with the wind.

The Tomb Demon closed its eyes forever.

Problem solved. Shen You looked around and confirmed that there were no signs of any supernatural remnants. Then, his body suddenly accelerated and vibrated, his figure blurred, and he disappeared into thin air.

The clone's mission is complete.

As his abilities develop and his basic energy increases, creating clones becomes less of a burden for Shen You, and also increasingly convenient. This means he can handle many other matters while away from home without delaying his own work.

This led him to develop a new concept, or rather, the prototype of an idea.

Powerful beings in the DC universe often have a habit of creating clones. Whether it's Darkseid or Trigon, these multiverse-level figures like to leave clones everywhere. This allows them to be omnipresent and spread throughout all the multiverses.

Of course, Shen You is far from their level yet, but after thinking about it recently, he felt that this was a good direction.

This clone is different from the temporary clone technique he currently uses; it is more like a projection of his true self. Not only does it place almost no burden on his true self, but the clone can also perform different tasks in many places simultaneously, develop its influence and gather information in countless worlds, collect power, artifacts, and accumulate its own resources, and what it gains can then be given back to its true self.

Of course, while there are many benefits and few burdens, the cost is that these clones are often far weaker than the original body. Darkseid is a prime example of this.

Shen You had seen similar clones many times before and had recorded some data. He vaguely felt that if he could learn this method, it would be quite compatible with his own abilities.

Imagine if Ultraman Tiga had an avatar in every dimension of the myriad worlds, responsible for spreading light and preaching, and then during the final boss battle, everyone in the entire multiverse would transform into light and charge together. The scene would definitely be incredibly exciting.

Shen You came out of the laboratory for a short rest when he suddenly heard a heated discussion, which seemed to be accompanied by the sound of high-frequency keystrokes.

"To the right, to the right! Oh, you're so slow!"

It sounds like Kara's voice.

"Meow~" That's the sound of Stryker the Kryptonian cat.

Shen You followed the sound and came over, only to see a person and a cat. They seemed to be playing a game?

"Hold on, I'm coming, I'm coming! You hold them off!" Kara yelled. "Oh no, how did you die? You're so bad!"

"Meow"

Stretch spread his two little paws, indicating that there was nothing he could do about it, after all, he was just a cat.

"Playing games?" Shen You suddenly appeared.

Kara was startled and gave an awkward laugh: "Yes, yes. I've finished all my homework!"

"Stretch can play too?" Shen You looked at Krypton Cat.

“Of course, Stryker is really smart.” Kara stroked her cat’s head, puffing out her chest proudly. “We’re almost in the top 500 in the whole server with our duo queue!”

"Meow!"

Stryker also held his head high, looking quite proud.

Shen You raised his eyebrows.

He then realized that he had overlooked this issue. Don't underestimate Stretch just because he's a cat; he has a super brain too.

Doesn't that mean...?

Actually, we've always had a super brain in our house that's just spinning its wheels all day?

What a waste of resources this is!

Shen You rested his chin on his hand and thought for a moment, then said seriously, "You said that Stryker can even play games. Is it possible that we could assign him some research tasks?"

Kara: "???"

Stryker: "???"

The man and the cat stared at him wide-eyed, incredulous.

No, are you the devil?

They won't even spare the cat?

Chapter 291 Thunderous Sand Sculpture

"This is the history of Krypton's technology and the foundation of its crystal-based technologies."

"This is the basic introduction to Kryptonian technology."

"This is an introductory section compiled by Kara, integrating knowledge from the Kryptonian spaceship database across twenty-eight star systems."

Shen You spoke eloquently, dragging a bunch of complex interfaces in front of Stryker. The Kryptonian orange cat lay on the lab table, blinking its bewildered little eyes, looking at the floating interface in front of it and then at Shen You, its gaze weak, pitiful, and helpless.

It's as if it's saying, "I'm just a cat, why are you doing this to me?"

“These are treasures from your hometown. As a survivor, don’t you have an obligation to learn and pass them on?” Shen You patiently persuaded.

"Meow"

Stryker's cat ears drooped down.

It wanted to say it didn't think so, but didn't have the courage to say it. So it could only reach out its little paw and drag over a floating interface, and then obediently start looking at it.

Even Kara, who witnessed this scene, was at a loss for words.

A world-famous painting depicts an orange cat conducting scientific research.

This made Kara, who had been slacking off for two days, start to feel a sense of urgency. Although Strych was a cat, it was still a cat with a super brain. What if she slacked off too much and was overtaken by another cat? Wouldn't that be incredibly embarrassing?

Embarrassment is a minor issue; what would be bad if Mr. Shen were to despise her for being inferior to a cat and kick her out of the lab to make room for the cat?

That won't do. I definitely need to read some books these next couple of days.

Seeing that the Kryptonian human and cat had obediently moved away from the game console and started studying seriously, Shen You nodded in satisfaction, feeling that he had maintained a positive and supportive learning atmosphere in the store. He then returned to the lab and resumed his work.

“Sir, I’ve found some interesting content on social media platforms that you might also find interesting,” Pal said.

"Social media platforms?"

Shen You was a little puzzled, but he still took the screen that Pal handed him. Upon swiping it open, he was greeted by a flamboyant headline.

"Come and see the extraordinary man from Philadelphia, the captain of the Thunder!"

Shen You: "?"

What kind of weird name is "Thunderball Team Captain"?

Upon clicking, one is immediately struck by a muscular man dressed in a flamboyant theatrical costume, his chest muscles seemingly about to burst from lightning bolts, standing at 1.9 meters tall but with an exaggeratedly silly expression.

Shen You was taken aback.

Isn't this the chosen successor to the old wizard's six divine powers, Thunder Sand Sculpture? Oh wait, is it Thunder Shazam?

Could it be that the old wizard has finally made up his mind to choose a successor?

Shazam is quite formidable on DC Earth. His stats are comparable to Superman's in every aspect, and due to the source of his power, he possesses extremely high magic resistance. Theoretically, he's a top-tier sorcerer, proficient in various magical spells—although, like Solomon's wisdom, he doesn't use this ability frequently.

His main magical feats usually involve striking thunder and lightning, and conjuring a ping-pong table out of thin air on the Watchtower when he joined the Justice League.

Yet this is a powerful guardian, renowned in the mystical realm, possessing superhuman strength and top-tier magical power, and the protector of the Eternal Rock.

He is currently performing a chest-breaking stunt in the video.
