"This is..." Dumbledore was interrupted by a sudden shift in spacetime before he could finish speaking. Everyone felt dizzy and disoriented. In a daze, the three found themselves seemingly crossing the boundaries of spacetime and arriving in a completely unfamiliar environment.
“Lumos Maxima”
Grindelwald raised his wand, and an enhanced Illumination Charm emitted a blinding light from its tip, like burning magnesium ribbon. With a wave of his wand, a dazzling orb of light formed by the spell was hurled out, floating in the air and illuminating the entire space.
Dumbledore and Newt squinted slightly, their eyes widening from the sudden burst of light. As they slowly adjusted to the change in light, they used their limited vision to survey their surroundings.
Only then did they realize that they had left the obelisk and entered a huge, enclosed circular room.
Dumbledore roughly estimated that the room was about 150 feet high and about 500 inches in diameter. The floor was made of ordinary, neat stones, and the walls were covered with intricate red lines, each about the width of a thumb. Under the intense light, the red substance in the lines seemed to flow, like fresh blood.
In the center of the room stood a pristine, square white altar, about ten feet high. Unlike the surrounding intricate red lines, the altar was devoid of any offerings, except for a tall archway.
“That’s where I found the severed arm!” Grindelwald said, pointing to the archway. “But I can’t activate the magic on the archway by myself!”
They hurried up to the altar and examined the mysterious archway up close, discovering that it was more complex than it appeared from a distance.
Except for a crystal-clear, blood-red gem set at the top of the arch, the rest of the arch is silver-white. The reliefs, patterns, and inscriptions on it seem to tell some profound story. When people first see it, a sense of purity and sacredness arises spontaneously.
“Stop searching, Albus,” Grindelwald said to Dumbledore, who was searching the place thoroughly. “I’ve searched this place carefully several times already. Now, we can only pin our hopes on this mysterious door!”
“But who built this thing? And where does it lead?” Newt tapped the archway with his wand, making a dull sound as it struck metal.
“Who knows!” Dumbledore replied, frowning, his eyes fixed on the archway before him. “Hopefully, it will lead us to the answer we seek!”
"Let's try to activate the magic on the arch first!" Grindelwald said, then walked to one side of the arch and looked at Dumbledore, gesturing for him to do what he should do.
Dumbledore nodded, understanding, and walked to the other side of the arch, raising his wand to cast a spell. The two simultaneously channeled magic into the arch.
Under the influence of immense magical power, it resonated with the magic on the archway, and the ancient inscriptions began to emit a pale blue light from bottom to top.
Newt stood to the side, witnessing the immense magical power unleashed by the two, and couldn't help but swallow hard. He secretly rejoiced that they had broken up decades ago after a falling out!
As the two infused their magic, more and more inscriptions were lit up until the silver-white archway was bathed in a pale blue light, making it appear even more sacred, sublime, and majestic.
"Did you make it?"
No sooner had the words left his mouth than a sudden change occurred. The red gem at the top of the archway suddenly shone with a dazzling, intense crimson light. Then, a tremendous force erupted, knocking Dumbledore and Grindelwald's wands away.
All the magic was absorbed by the ruby, and the pale blue light vanished completely. A chilling, crimson light filled the entire enormous circular room, sending shivers down one's spine.
The once silvery-white archway now appears to be stained red with blood; its sense of sublimity and holiness has vanished, leaving only depravity and evil.
"Buzz!"
A deep humming sound came from inside the archway, and pale white light, like a drizzle, fell from the top of the archway, shimmering with a faint fluorescence, and drifted down slowly like quicksand.
"Is this a success or...?"
Before Newt could finish speaking, Grindelwald rushed in first and disappeared into the white light, with Dumbledore following closely behind.

Newt stood there speechlessly. Were you two too confident or too reckless? You just barged in like that? This lousy door doesn't look like anything good!
With a sigh, Newt reluctantly followed the two inside.
With a flash of white light, Newt found himself in a spacious cave, with an illumination charm above his head and the sound of flowing water in his ears.
"Albus, where are we now?" Newt asked quickly as he looked at the two people standing on the riverbank ahead.
Dumbledore looked at the pitch-black underground river before him, the other side of which was completely invisible, and shook his head solemnly.
“There’s something wrong with this water!” Grindelwald’s eyes sharpened as he lightly tapped his wand on a pebble on the bank. The pebble twisted and deformed, transforming into a crystal goblet. Scooping up a handful of water, they used an illumination spell to discover that the water inside was as black as ink.
"Interesting, movement spells don't work here." Grindelwald sneered. "I'm getting more and more curious about what surprises await us!"
"It seems this is the only way!" Dumbledore said, looking at the bridge made up of irregularly shaped stone piers beside him.
"Let's go then! But be careful, I have a feeling this underground river is dangerous!" With that, Grindelwald gripped his wand and stepped onto the bridge.
Dumbledore and Newt followed closely behind, wands gripped tightly, fully focused and constantly alert to the unknown dangers around them.
"Grrrrrr!"
When the three had traveled about halfway, the underground river, which had been flowing rapidly, suddenly became quiet, and then the surface of the water began to bubble as if boiling water.
Looking up, a stark white scene came into view. Countless heads and hands emerged from the dark water—men's, women's, and children's. They all had sunken eyes, showing no sign of life.
"Something's coming up from the bottom of the water! It's a zombie!" Dumbledore shouted.
"Roar!" The roar echoed across the river as countless undead heads emerged from the water, densely packed together. They let out piercing howls and charged madly toward Dumbledore and his companions.
"Powdered to pieces (shattering spell)"
Before Newt, a zombie stretched out a pair of withered hands and charged madly. Without hesitation, he cast the Shattering Charm. With a loud bang, the zombie's body was instantly torn to pieces, but not a drop of blood flowed. Even though only its head remained floating on the water, it still roared.
More and more living corpses appeared on the river, surging in like a tide.
“Newt, you can’t do that!” Dumbledore shouted. “Leave it to me!”
"Partis Temporus (Vulcan's Path)"
Dumbledore raised his wand above his head, and a raging, violent flame rose from the surrounding darkness. A bright, golden-red ring of fire encircled the three of them, expanding outwards as Dumbledore increased his magical output.
The moment the zombies touched the scorching flames, they instantly turned to ashes. The scene was like a lawnmower, silently reaping the harvest.
“It’s no use, Albus, save your mana!” Grindelwald said, pointing to the ever-resurrecting zombies on the river. “The exit is just ahead. Let’s get out of here quickly, no need to waste time here!”
After Dumbledore's curse ended, Grindelwald used Fiendfire to clear the undead from the river. Taking advantage of this lull, the three of them rushed towards the other side at full speed and soon reached their destination.
"Phew!" On the riverbank, after watching the zombies retreat and the underground river begin to flow again, they breathed a sigh of relief. Although they weren't afraid of the zombies, they couldn't withstand such endless drain.
"There's still a boat here?" After a short rest, Newt found a small boat on the riverbank. Only a small section of the hull was intact; the rest had been charred. "Who would row a boat on a river teeming with zombies?"
Grindelwald and Dumbledore exchanged a glance. Had someone already entered before them?
Chapter 146 Second Bishop
“We need to hurry, Albus!” Grindelwald said, looking at the wrecked ship.
Dumbledore nodded, and after resting, they continued along the narrow passage on the rock face by the shore.
About half an hour later, the space suddenly opened up before them, revealing a huge underground space that seemed like a separate little world.
The underground space was far larger than they had imagined. The towering stone walls disappeared at the horizon, giving a sense of boundless expanse.
“This place…” Newt was speechless with shock at the sight before him. He felt that even dozens of Hogwarts combined wouldn’t be as big as this place!
"What a grand gesture!" Dumbledore exclaimed, looking at the several colossal statues, each a hundred meters tall, standing around him.
“I think the person who destroyed this place is the one with the real ambition!” Grindelwald stood on high ground, gazing into the distance. All he could see were ruins, devoid of any sign of life. He then pointed to the large, perfectly circular hole in the center of the ground and said.
"This doesn't look like it was formed naturally!"
The three stood beside the cave entrance, gazing downwards, feeling as if the space below was an abyss. Surprisingly, however, faint flashes of light emanated from this abyss-like place.
“That’s… the light of a spell, and there are wizards fighting below!” Dumbledore said uncertainly, then turned to Grindelwald, wanting to hear his opinion.
“I’m not sure either, but it looks like it,” Grindelwald shook his head. “We’ll find out once we go down there. We should be able to use teleportation or flight spells here!”
Dumbledore and Newt both agreed with Grindelwald, since they were already there!
……
"who are you?"
On the lowest ice surface, a tall, middle-aged wizard, dressed in a magnificent robe with the apostle's symbol embroidered on his chest, stood on the ice, pointing his wand at the mysterious wizard opposite him, who was shrouded in black robes, and asked loudly.
His brow furrowed as he pondered the other's identity. The spells the black-robed wizard had just used were spells only their apostles could master, so the other must be someone from their organization.
The man in black ignored the apostle's questioning, coldly raising his wand without defending, only attacking. Even when injured, it did not affect his attack in the slightest. At this moment, he was like an emotionless machine.
Faced with the enemy's mad dog-like behavior, the apostle was unable to do anything about it for a while, and even seemed to be at a disadvantage.
The lowest level of the cave is significantly smaller than the top level, and is vastly different from the levels above.
Everything on this level is perfectly frozen, showcasing a unique aesthetic. Even through the thick layer of ice, the exquisite and luxurious nature of the architecture is evident, as if this were a hidden ice castle deep underground.
Dumbledore and his companions didn't know how many levels they had descended, but they could clearly sense the unique nature of this place. The entire space was shaped like a large funnel, decreasing in size as they went deeper.
"The Apostle... and who is the other one?" Grindelwald asked in a low voice, watching the two fighting not far away.
"I don't know, but both of them are quite strong!" Dumbledore said thoughtfully, his eyes fixed on the two combatants.
As the two were talking, the battle between the apostle and the mysterious man in black robes suddenly stopped, and their gazes turned toward them.
"You found us so quickly! Not bad!" Grindelwald exclaimed loudly upon seeing this, no longer hiding his intentions.
"Albus Dumbledore, Gellert Grindelwald, and Newt Scamander, what are you doing here?" the apostle asked in surprise upon seeing the three.
The black-robed man opposite did not speak, but retreated into the darkness and disappeared.
"Aren't you going to go after him?"
The apostle gently shook his head, his gaze fixed intently on the direction where the black-robed man had disappeared, his expression unusually grave.
"Let me introduce myself, Publius Marlowe, the Second Apostle." Facing Dumbledore and his companions, Publius Marlowe's tone was unusually calm, his face expressionless, making it impossible to discern his inner thoughts.
Upon hearing this, Dumbledore and his two companions were filled with surprise.
“I’m curious, how did the three of you get here?” Publius Maro continued to ask.
"So, this is your territory, Apostles' territory?" Grindelwald looked at the other party with icy eyes, recalling his severed arm.
“No!” Publius Maro replied decisively, “At least I don’t know exactly where this place is!”
Dumbledore and his two companions were somewhat taken aback, unsure whether what the other party said was true or false, which was precisely the troublesome aspect for the apostles.
"Take out the severed arm and show it to him!" Dumbledore said to Grindelwald after a moment of contemplation.
Although he didn't know what Dumbledore was thinking, Grindelwald still did as he was told and handed the wooden box to Publius Marlowe.
"You want to know why we're here? This is it!"
Publius Maro suspiciously took the wooden box, carefully opened it, and after seeing the severed arm inside, his expression changed drastically, and he immediately closed the lid.
Dumbledore and Grindelwald exchanged a glance; sure enough, Publius Marlowe knew some important clues.
"Where did you find this severed arm?" Publius Maro's tone was no longer as calm as before.
"Right at the entrance to this place, you should know whose severed arm this is!"
