Sister, can I be a maid too?

How could there be such a shameless bastard!
She had every reason to believe that if she didn't speak up, this bastard would only escalate his actions and do something even more outrageous...
She's not surprised by anything anyway!
Jiang Yubai, however, showed no sign of guilt whatsoever, and casually withdrew his hand.
"Look, the one on the left is Lin Jianxia, and the one on the right is Lin Tingwan. Simple as that~"
Lin Tingwan finally straightened up, looked at her older sister, and for some reason, a hint of regret seemed to flash in her eyes.
Hearing this, Lin Jianxia was furious and instinctively wanted to stand up and confront him.
"Jiang Yubai! You bastard—wailing!"
She seemed to have been squatting for too long, because as soon as she stood up, her legs went weak and she fell forward uncontrollably.
She closed her eyes in alarm, but the expected pain did not come—her waist tightened, and she was firmly held in one arm. The next second, she was gently pulled up by a force.
Jiang Yubai straightened this guy's posture and still had time to gloat:
"You like to squat down when you ring the doorbell, huh? Your legs must be weak now."
Seeing this gloating expression, Lin Jianxia's initial感动 (feeling of being moved/touched) vanished instantly.
She gritted her teeth, still furious, and lightly kicked him in the butt. She then grabbed her suitcase from beside the door and stormed into her room.
Lin Tingwan, standing to the side, glanced at her older sister and then at Jiang Yubai.
The girl didn't follow, but instead took a step forward and nestled herself into Jiang Yubai's arms.
She wrapped her arms around his waist, rested her head on his shoulder, took a long, deep breath, and a look of contentment and relaxation appeared on her face.
Jiang Yubai felt the warm, soft body in his arms, and then glanced at the person who had already dragged his suitcase through the door. He found it somewhat amusing.
Hey, you don't want your little sister anymore, right?
However, after not having hugged him for several days, Jiang Yubai also missed him a little.
He raised his hand to embrace her soft waist, and then smoothed her long hair that fell to her shoulders, feeling the faint scent of lavender filling his nostrils.
Hugs are the most comfortable thing in the world.
—Especially since the object of affection is a super cute girl.
Once she had finally replenished her energy, Lin Tingwan let go of his hand, took a small step back, and looked at him with bright, sparkling eyes.
Jiang Yubai couldn't resist and reached out to rub the boy's little head again:
"Wasn't it supposed to be the fifth day of the lunar new year? Why are you here today?"
Lin Tingwan took out the familiar spiral notebook from her pocket, wrote something on it, and handed it over:
"My sister said that Jiang Yubai has no food to eat."
Upon seeing this line of small print, Jiang Yubai froze on the spot.
He glanced at the notebook, then at the one next to him, and was a little taken aback for a moment.
So you came a day early just to cook for me? Really?
—No, is this really something this little hedgehog would do?
"Then...why didn't you tell me earlier?" Jiang Yubai couldn't help but ask again. "I could have called a car for you or something, and it would have been more convenient to pick you up."
"My sister said she wanted to give Jiang Yubai a surprise."
?
Jiang Yubai was genuinely shocked.
Holy crap, are you talking about Lin Jianxia?
Shouldn't they be saying something like, "Why would I tell you? Is it really necessary?" with a look of disgust, like some kind of silly, childish remark?
Jiang Yubai immediately became interested and asked again with great enthusiasm:
"Oh right, so... when I went to your house to wish you a Happy New Year, what did your sister think?"
Lin Tingwan raised her head, thought carefully for a moment, and then wrote:
"My sister is very happy."
Jiang Yubai wanted to ask something more, but footsteps came from the door beside him.
Lin Jianxia seemed to have already put her luggage away, and then came back.
Seeing that the two were still standing by the door without moving, she frowned:
"Hey, what are you two still standing here for? Isn't it cold in the hallway?"
Jiang Yubai sized the guy up and down, and only spoke after Lin Jianxia looked at him warily:
"Didn't you say you'd be back on the fifth day of the Lunar New Year? Why are you here today?"
Lin Jianxia pouted:
"Why not? There's nothing to do at home, so I just came back. There's so much to prepare for the start of school."
—Hehehe, that's not what your sister said~
Jiang Yubai suppressed a laugh, coughed lightly, and continued:
"Then... why didn't you tell me earlier? I could have called a car for you or something, and it would have been more convenient to pick you up."
Upon hearing this question, Lin Jianxia crossed her arms, a look of disgust on her face:
"Why tell you? It's just a matter of a day earlier or later. Is it really necessary?"
As soon as he finished speaking, he saw Jiang Yubai looking at him with a subtle expression.
Lin Jianxia frowned:
"Hey, why are you staring at me like that?"
"It's nothing, it's nothing," Jiang Yubai smiled. "It's just... when I visited your house for the New Year, what were you thinking?"
What were you thinking?
Lin Jianxia clearly didn't expect Jiang Yubai to suddenly ask such a question.
The girl's lips moved, but she unconsciously turned her face away, and her tone became soft and whimpering:
"What else could I be thinking? Everything was fine until you came, and now I have to cook for you, make your bed, and all that...it's such a hassle..."
After saying this, she unconsciously glanced over out of the corner of her eye and saw that Jiang Yubai was not angry at all, but instead looked like he was thanking her for the hospitality.
Seeing Lin Jianxia's increasingly suspicious gaze, Jiang Yubai quickly straightened his expression and coughed with satisfaction:
"It's okay, it's okay. Um... it's cold in the hallway, let's go inside and talk."
Lin Tingwan, who had been standing quietly to the side, blinked her eyes and obediently walked inside.
Lin Jianxia felt that this guy's expression was strange, but she couldn't find any fault with it, so she simply pursed her lips and decided to follow him.
But as soon as she passed Jiang Yubai, she suddenly stopped and wrinkled her nose.
"Hey,"
She turned her head, her brows furrowing.
Did you hug Wanwan again?
—What the heck? Are you a dog? How can you smell that?
Jiang Yubai did not deny it, and nodded frankly.
"...What's so great about hugging him/her?"
Lin Jianxia muttered something under her breath.
Hearing this, Jiang Yubai found it amusing and deliberately opened his arms and waved them at her:
"What's so great about hugging me? Why don't you try hugging me too?"
"No, no!" Lin Jianxia's voice suddenly rose a few decibels. "I don't need treatment!"
After saying that, she seemed to be still angry and gave him another light punch before turning around and going into the house in a huff.
Jiang Yubai stood in the corridor for two seconds, then touched his chin.
—No, why do I feel like Jianjian's Xia is... kind of cute?
Chapter 177 We have to go together every night, how about it?
Stepping inside, Lin Jianxia glanced at the half-dry floor, then at the broom and mop against the wall, and blinked.
Are you cleaning?
“Yeah, it’s almost New Year’s, might as well clean up a bit,” Jiang Yubai said casually, closing the door behind him. Suddenly, his eyes lit up. “Wait, I still have a few rooms to finish cleaning, how about…”
"Hey! I came all this way just to clean for you, right?!"
Lin Jianxia had just made a complaint and hadn't had a chance to continue arguing when she saw her younger sister silently pick up the rag and look at her with a somewhat blank expression.
"Wanwan, you..."
She sighed helplessly, then glared at Jiang Yubai with annoyance.
"Never mind, here's the mop. I've always done it for you before anyway."
As the adorable little maid in the house, Lin Jianxia has indeed been doing housework such as cooking and cleaning.
Jiang Yubai didn't hand over the mop, but instead handed over the broom:
"Hey, I'll mop it, could you sweep the floors in the study and bedroom for me?"
Lin Jianxia took the broom and gave a soft 'humph':
"At least you have some conscience."
Lin Jianxia swept the floor, Jiang Yubai mopped it, and Lin Tingwan was responsible for wiping the dust off the furniture.
After the three of them finished dividing up the tasks, they went straight into the bedroom and started working.
Jiang Yubai leaned against the wall, holding a mop, watching the two sisters clean. Suddenly, as if remembering something, she asked curiously:
