175. The Love Letter

“Shut your mouth!” Wei Qing roared at Song Huaiqi uncontrollably.

“Wei Qing!” Yan Chuyang pushed him on the shoulder, “Calm down! We are at school. Please don’t make a fuss here.”

Wei Qing snorted, “I don’t want to argue either. I just want to see you receive your award. Can’t I?”

Yan Chuyang suddenly got nervous and looked away, faltering, “There’s nothing fun to watch it. You know… very boring. It’s so hot now. Why don’t you go home and get some rest?”

Wei Qing was a bit disappointed, gnashing his teeth, “No! I’m not leaving! I think it’s gonna be fun, and I have the right to do what I want.”

The boy looked down, his fingers pinching his trousers, “But this is my award ceremony. I didn’t invite you. I don’t want you to be here. Can you go home first now?”

Wei Qing’s shoulder trembled as he was truly hurt.

He never thought that Yan Chuyang would say such harsh words.

The boy was driving him away without the slightest bit of hesitation.

Not until now did Wei Qing realize how much the truth hurt. And what hurt him more was that boy wouldn’t even want to know he was hurt.

The boy didn’t care about his feelings at all.

Wei Qing snorted, “I have a lot of time today, and I’m going to stay!”

Right after he finished, he strode to the auditorium and sat down in the middle.

Yan Chuyang sighed helplessly when seeing the man’s determined look. He also knew that it would be useless to say more at this time. The man wouldn’t change his mind just because of other people’s words.

Yet how could he make a speech later if Wei Qing was here?

Frowning, Yan Chuyang took a glance at the speech draft in his hand.

He wrote it himself, and it was all about Wei Qing as if he finally was to confess his love. Although Wei Qing’s name was not mentioned, the encouraging words and the stories all came from Wei Qing. The boy was appreciating Wei Qing from the bottom of his heart.

Others might think that he was just talking about a beloved teacher, but Yan Chuyang was not. He was talking about Wei Qing.

Yet Wei Qing could tell who he was talking about as soon as he heard those words. They were all for him!

Yan Chuyang was restless. He could not relax himself to say those words of gratitude in front of the man. There were merely ten more minutes left before the speech, and it was impossible for him to come up with a new draft. He had no other choice.

While he was lost in thought, those teachers and students invited started to enter and the hall was getting bustling.

Seeing the principal walk in, Yan Chuyang quickly went over to greet him and shook his hand.

The principal patted Yan Chuyang on the shoulder gently with a smile, his voice low and sincere, “Young man, you will have a bright future.”

“Thank you very much. I truly appreciate your support all the time.” Yan Chuyang felt so honored and inspired, blushing and smiling.

This was the first time he had heard someone praise him so directly.

Although Wei Qing did that a lot, he was lavish in his praise for the boy out of love. Everything about the boy was incredibly pleasant.

However, as a highly respected scholar and a beloved teacher, the principal would praise him only when he really deserved it.

Yan Chuyang felt so excited; he felt that he was a little closer to Wei Qing.

Soon, the award ceremony began with the principal’s speech.

Yan Chuyang sat in the first row, next to another contestant who also participated in the competition, Lu Haolin.

As Yan Chuyang listened carefully to the speech, he suddenly heard a faint sneer, “You did pretty well in the competition, huh?”

Yan Chuyang turned his head and smiled briefly, “Thanks. I was just lucky.”

Lu Haolin’s indifferent expression turned ferocious the instant he heard the last two words. He scoffed, “You were surely lucky when you got help from someone to win the top prize.”

Yan Chuyang froze. He felt that there was something wrong with his words, but he didn’t think too much about it. After all, he didn’t know the guy that much and barely even talked to him before. The guy shouldn’t have anything against him. He jokingly replied, “Yeah, you know, my roommates are the best. They often encourage me.”

Lu Haolin sneered, “Well, maybe, but I don’t think they could be such a great help.”

Yan Chuyang felt confused, “I don’t know what you’re saying.”

“Really?” Lu Haolin snorted. “You’ll get it soon.”

Yan Chuyang turned his head and stopped talking.

He didn’t want to talk to that guy anymore. Obviously, Lu Haolin wasn’t being nice as if he got the goods on Yan Chuyang and was threatening him.

Having done nothing bad, Yan Chuyang didn’t feel bothered. He was just a little dissatisfied with Lu Haolin’s attitude.

It was obvious that Lu Haolin was angry at him for winning the top prize in the competition, but he really shouldn’t be so green-eyed. After all, it was a fair competition.

Some people won and the others lost. That was the way it was. Even if he failed, he should be proud of himself, work harder, and get ready for the next chance.

Yan Chuyang remembered what Wei Qing once told him, “One should really enjoy the competition instead of making himself suffer from angst and fear of failure.”

Yet it was understandable that Lu Haolin was so eager to win as he hadn’t truly figured out what life was all about.

Yan Chuyang didn’t take this little story into his heart. He had something much more important to do.

He was extremely nervous as Wei Qing was sitting in the same room with him. He even felt that the man was having his eyes fixed on him right now, and his heart was beating faster and faster.

His speech was to be turned into an affectionate lover letter. It was a game of love as well as a secret only known to them two.
