Crimson's Revenge

Reen hurriedly run towards the sound accompanied by Uoron, Bill and Sae and saw Wisteria and Hue on the floor.

Wisteria had Hue on a head lock while Hue desperately tried to free himself from her hold. Some pans and pots were scattered around them.

"Why you! I told you those cookies are for the guests…" She said

"I'm sorry, it just smelled so delicious that I couldn't help it… so forgive me?" Hue said smilingly while trying to loosen Wisteria's hold on him

"What in the world…?" Reen who was dumbfounded by this scene asked

"Reen?! Are you alright?" As they could not help it, the group followed them immediately and too saw this scene.

The group except Mirly stared speechlessly at the couple on the floor. Reen relaxed and started giggling. Now, the group except Uoron started chuckling as well looking at this foolish couple.

"Mom, what are you doing?" Reen who stop chuckling first asked smilingly, all the tension and high strung emotion disappeared.

Uoron looked at her in curiosity

"There it is again, the way she talked and acted it seems as if she's not merely the naive and damsel in distress that needs to be rescued as I thought and how she portrays to be." He mused looking interestingly at her

"Oh! Welcome home Reen! I caught this idiot stealing cookies I made especially for your friends…" Wisteria said

"It smelled so delicious, you should have smelled it Reen…the temptation..." drooling while imagining flying cookies around him, Hue said not minding the choked hold

"Reen isn't a pig like you…" Wisteria berated him

She tightened the hold on his neck. Hue taping her arm in defeat.

"I know… I know… so stop it, you're killing me…" He said in a choke up voice. She then finally let go as both stood up after patting themselves clean.

"Really now, dad!" Reen pretended to be stern but could not help a smile to creep out from her face.

When they had stopped laughing and giggling, Hue winked at Mirly who was staring at him.

"Did they perhaps did that on purpose?" Mirly thought to herself as she knew that Reen had just come back from that dreadful house

Thought the couple badly wanted to join Reen there, they couldn't because of their identity as the adoptive parents of Reen. They were still treated as outsiders by Seth's family because unlike Lilith who married their brother, Hue and Wisteria were merely Elena's friends.

Both knew through Reen that Elena was not as welcomed as what they thought she would be. They had been too ignorant in the past not noticing the sufferings their friend encountered. They could not help but curse themselves.

They knew that Reen did not want them to worry about her visit but they had a sinking feeling [1] that she would be down in the mouth [2] after returning from there.

Thinking of this, they devised this little act which they believe will truly make her jump in joy [3] or at least something similar by their silly play which actually proved to be right.
