Distant Love

Nathan walked around the burnt building searching for clues on what caused the fire, he wore a protective rubber gloves, so as not to contaminate any evidence. As he walked pass the shattered ceiling, he noticed a liquid substance on the floor, he stop then called his assistant to bring his detective toolkit. He took out a cotton bud and slightly dipped it into the substance, he brought it close to his nose and sniffed. His brows furrowed immidiately, he seem to be confused, his assistant noticed the change in his expression and he asked "What is the matter sir?"

"This is gasoline" he replied as he stood up and took out his phone, made a call then left the scene.

When you said i shouldn't worry, does that imply causing a fire; Sophie spoke the phone with a certain someone.

This was just a message, don't you worry. No one got hurt; the person replied with a cold voice.

I know, but what if someone did; sophie replied looking concerned.

"Sophie... I need you to know that in other to make this work, there will always be someone who gets on the wrong end of the knife. Lets just hope its not me or you" the person's tone turned even colder.

Fine but leave Chris out of this; Sophie voice turned hoarse

"What?, don't tell me you have gone soft on him?"

Just leave him out of it, according to what you told me. He was still a high schooler like me when his father made us suffer, so i believe he is innocent; Sophie explained, her voice still hoarse.

"But he is a part of the family"

Mom!, am serious; her hoarse voice turned to anger and frustration

"Ok, ok whatever my baby wants" Mrs. John let out a little laughter.

Thank you, i love you, bye; She made a wide grin then hung up the phone

She let out a heavy sigh of relief, then lay heavily on the bed and slowly closed her eyes. But as she was about to relax, a familiar voice spoke with an elegant and warm aura.
