“What?” He said.

“Well, you are the strongest and oldest among us, the most amazing.” Water raised both hands and said: “Thus, you should become the Ghost Monarch. We will obey your commands.”

“What commands? It is nothing more than a set of laws.” The old man retorted.

“We still have to obey them, the whole ghost market will listen to you.” Water smiled.

“Then why don’t you become the Ghost Monarch if it’s that nice?” The old man glared.

“Hehehe, I’m too young and inexperienced compared to you.” Water said.

The others agreed that the old man was the most qualified to take this position.

“It’s best that I act as a guard since I don’t have many years left given my age.” The old man shook his head.

They could tell that although he had severed the past, he still couldn’t drop the issue. Therefore, he was willing to die from old age here.

“Wait, wait...” Water, Fog, and Nameless became nervous after hearing this.

“Thank you, Sir.” Nameless took a deep breath and bowed.

“Buzz.” Li Qiye’s hand brimmed with primordial light. He released it onto the statue.

Its head moved, seemingly returning to life.

“Ooo-” Its eyes lit up after a mechanical hum.

“Crackle!” Lightning bolts and arcs erupted as if the statue was short-circuiting. Dao flames with a dark glow took over next.

Only the laws remained once the body melted to ashes, engulfed by Li Qiye’s light.

“Do it.” Nameless took a deep breath.

“Very well.” Li Qiye shifted the laws into a seal and imprinted it onto him.

“Zzz...” It looked like a molten seal falling into the water with smoke oozing out.

“Ahh!” The powerful ghost screamed in agony as his body melted to make room for the laws.

Eventually, the two became one.
