Rebecca's lips curled into a wicked smile.

"Heh heh, Locke Bemon, I never thought your soul would be imprisoned here. With Renis gone, let's see who can protect you now!"

"Wait! Rebecca, we're both from the Bureau of Investigation, so we're practically colleagues. The key now is to get out of the coffee shop. Let's work together."

Locke said nervously, already feeling Rebecca's saliva dripping onto the mirror.

"Uh, what can you do? You're a complete newbie who doesn't know anything. You've even locked yourself in the mirror. How can you possibly figure out a way for us to get out? Even Sieg has failed here."

Rebecca scoffed, then picked up the mirror to examine herself closely, pondering how to get Locke out and then devour him.

"Actually, I've already thought of a solution."

Locke said, forcing himself to speak.

He only had an idea, far from having a solution, but his life was at stake, and he had to make this demon see his worth.

"what?"

“I guess no matter how many times you destroy the coffee shop, it will be restored, just like these townspeople who died in the battle between Renis and Krista, they can be resurrected no matter how many times they die. So the key to leaving here is not the coffee shop, but Nate.”

Locke said.

Why Nate?

Rebecca asked, puzzled.

"I can't tell you right now. If you trust me, just do as I say, and we'll leave here together."

Locke decided to leave the eerie coffee shop first and return to the real world to find help; this was not something he could handle on his own.

"Well, since you won't tell me, I'll just eat you first."

Rebecca decided to stop thinking and just gnaw on the mirror, swallowing it whole. Even if Locke came out, he would still be inside her stomach.

Just as she opened her gaping maw, about to devour the mirror, Locke called her back again.

"Rebecca! Don't you want to find the other two-thirds of your soul?"

"?"

Rebecca looked at Locke in the mirror with a puzzled expression. "How did you know about this?"

"People who join the Paranormal Investigation Bureau are all somewhat talented. I happen to be very talented in finding souls, but I don't know if you would be willing to cooperate with me."

Locke said confidently, but in reality he was panicking.

If Rebecca really ate the mirror, he would either be trapped inside the mirror or die inside Rebecca's stomach.

Rebecca thought about it and decided that if she could replenish her soul, she could just eat the weak investigator later.

She nodded, deciding to temporarily restrain her cravings.

"How can you help me find it?"

"We can only tell you after we leave here."

"you do not believe me?"

Why should I believe in a demon?

“Then let’s sign a blood pact. I can temporarily refrain from eating you, but you must find the rest of my soul.”

"How do I know if a demon would tamper with the blood pact? I'm just a newbie, and my knowledge of the occult is still very basic."

Locke and Rebecca engaged in a heated discussion, neither willing to back down.

About half an hour later, everything in the coffee shop returned to normal.

The glass door opened, and familiar townspeople returned to the coffee shop.

They resumed their repetitive conversations, and some even remained in one position, entering a state of inactivity, just like NPCs in a game. When no quest is triggered, they have no life of their own and are merely a group of simple tools.

The only difference between Sieg and these people was his boundless energy, as he rambled on and on with his few lines.

Rebecca looked at the group of people and felt increasingly irritated.

If she stayed here, she felt she would be assimilated and become a mindless puppet.

“Alright, Locke Bemon, I agree to a temporary truce. As for the blood pact, we can wait until we return to the Bureau of Extraordinary Events and have Renis as a witness, then you won’t be able to deny it.”

"Okay, I'd love to."

Locke breathed a sigh of relief, having finally managed to fool this not-so-bright demon.

"So how am I supposed to get you out of here now? Should I just smash this mirror?"

"Rebecca asked."

"No, if I break the mirror, I don't know if I'll die instantly. I'll wait for Rhaenys to come and rescue me."

Locke didn't want to reveal his secret of using mirror magic, so he made Rebecca believe that she was locked up, rather than voluntarily hiding in the mirror. This had two advantages.

The first is to prevent the main body from encountering danger outside.

Secondly, it's to prevent being eaten by Rebecca when you go out; you can't trust the character of a demon.

"Then how do we get out of here?"

Rebecca looked at Locke suspiciously.

"All you need to do is carry the mirror with you and follow my instructions."

Locke said.

"Okay, so what do we do now?"

"Rebecca asked."

"Gather enough useful intelligence before Director Renis comes in again, and pass it on to her as soon as she enters."

Locke said seriously.

Rebecca nodded slightly. "That sounds good. So what intelligence should we gather now?"

"First, we must find the key figures Krista and Nate, understand what they have been through, what kind of life they are living now, and why the whole town is cooperating with them."

"I don't know what they went through before, but they must be living a shameless life now. They had a child right after getting married. How can it be that fast?"

Rebecca complained.

"Okay, let's start with Nate."

Based on his previous observations, Locke discovered that Nate was a protagonist with little offensive power, while Krista was a main character with a high degree of danger, and it was best not to approach her easily.

The fact that Krista could consciously attack Renis suggests that she might be the possessor of the anomaly herself.

Perhaps the entire coffee shop belongs to her.

But why is the coffee shop called Galken Coffee Shop?

Why not Christa Cafe?

Could it be that Krista's surname is Galken?

With these questions in mind, Locke put Rebecca into action.

Following Locke's instructions, Rebecca approached a man in a postman's uniform, forced a naive smile, and greeted him.

"Hello, Uncle."

The man in the postman's uniform, like an activated NPC, smiled at Rebecca.

"Oh, lovely girl, is there something you need?"

“You’re Krista’s cousin. You saw Nate whispering with a beautiful lady, and you suspect he’ll betray Krista. You don’t know Nate. The postman is Nate’s colleague; he should know him, right?”

Locke said in the mirror, and Rebecca squinted and repeated,

“I’m Krista’s cousin. To be honest, I saw Nate whispering with a beautiful lady before. I’m afraid he’ll betray Krista. I don’t know Nate very well. Your uncle is his colleague, so he should know him, right?”

The postman stroked his stubble, a look of surprise on his face.

“Nate would never betray Krista. He is an upright and kind man, and he is devoted to Krista. You can rest assured about that. He must have run into trouble while delivering an email to a lady, which is why you saw what happened.”

"Really? Why do I still feel like what I saw was the truth? Uncle, can you tell me more about Nate? That way I can judge whether he's good or bad and decide whether to tell my poor cousin about this."

Rebecca sat down opposite the man, who sipped his coffee and slowly reminisced.

“Nate is a perfect man. He is always meticulous when delivering mail and never makes a mistake. At the post office, he is the first to arrive and the last to leave. Oh, he tells us about Krista countless times every day, believing that Krista is the kindest girl in the world. His eyes are full of love. He could never love another woman, nor could he ever betray Krista.”

Rebecca frowned. "What did he say about Krista?"

"Haha, there are many more. For example, Christa adopted several poor stray cats and dogs. When Christa went to church to pray, she helped an elderly lady. When Christa was strolling around town, she met a woman who was about to give birth and took her to the hospital. Also, Christa couldn't bear to cut down the tree in the yard, so the tree grew too lush and blocked the sunlight from the bedroom."

In short, Nate's life couldn't be without Krista.

"Oh, you've talked about a bunch of useless trifles."

Rebecca was somewhat annoyed with the postman, feeling he had wasted her time, so she pointed to the window and said...

"Oh, look, Nate's here."

As the postman turned around, Rebecca scraped fresh dirt from the sole of her shoe and tossed it into his coffee cup, whispering...

"Go eat dirt."

She jumped off her seat with satisfaction, ignoring the postman.
