Becoming a god by raising witches

The mailman didn't see Nate, and when he turned around, he found that the unfamiliar little girl was also gone. He picked up his coffee cup and continued drinking his coffee.
Locke, looking in the mirror, felt that this demon was extremely wicked.
"Who should we ask next?"
Rebecca took out a small mirror and asked.
"It would be best if you asked all the townspeople here."
"You're really trying to exhaust this demon. This demon is not a servant to be at your beck and call."
Right, right, right, why didn't you have this awareness when you were Renis's maid?
Locke inwardly cursed Rebecca, the bully who preyed on the weak, and told her to continue questioning the townspeople in the coffee shop.
Rebecca reluctantly sat down next to the two elderly gentlemen.
He asked Locke in a low voice, "How should I ask?"
"First, complain about today's weather and your unpleasant experience."
Locke taught.
Rebecca looked at the two elderly gentlemen and said,
"This damn weather! Oh, what an unlucky day I've had! You'd never guess what happened to me today!"
Locke discovered that a simple opening line was all it took to unlock the storylines of these NPCs.
"Beautiful little lady, what happened to you?"
Two robust, elderly gentlemen asked in bewilderment. Their faces were scarred, and their skin was dark, making them look like experienced old sailors or retired soldiers.
"Can you help if I tell you?"
Rebecca repeated Locke's words.
"Of course! Don't underestimate us just because we're old. We were soldiers who participated in the Kingdom War 10 years ago. Go ahead and say it."
The two old gentlemen laughed.
Looking at their radiant expressions, Rebecca suddenly realized that Locke Bemon was a true flirting genius.
Locke said,
“I saw Nate being intimate with a beautiful widow while delivering the letter, and I don’t know whether I should tell Christa.”
Rebecca repeated Locke's words, inwardly cursing him as a despicable investigator who would go so far as to slander a seemingly honest postman in order to conduct his investigation.
The two elderly gentlemen were stunned, their expressions filled with disbelief.
“Impossible. Nate is a perfect person. He wouldn’t do such a thing.”
"Yes, I can guarantee with my own reputation that what you saw was definitely not Nate. He loves Krista so deeply."
"Why don't you believe me? Do I look like a child who would lie? Maybe Christa shouldn't have married Nate at all."
Rebecca continued repeating herself without any expression.
The two retired soldiers exchanged a glance.
"Nate isn't that kind of person."
"Then tell me, what kind of person is Nate?"
"Rebecca asked."
“Nate is a perfect person. He is honest, kind, devoted to his family, and responsible. Ten years ago, we fought together in the Kingdom War, and it was he who saved Christa back then.”
"That's what an old gentleman said."
"Ask them about the Kingdom War ten years ago, and how Krista and Nate met."
Locke said.
Rebecca impatiently patted the mirror and asked the two old gentlemen a question.
"Oh, the Kingdom War 10 years ago was a brutal war. At that time, little Krista and her family lived in the village of Holmer in Yorkshire in the North. They were attacked by the army of Aidenburg. Krista's whole family was killed, leaving only poor Krista. Just when she thought she was going to die, Nate appeared like a hero and saved Krista."
At that time, Nate was involved in the Kingdom War and happened to be a border guard. He rescued Christa, and the two fell in love after spending time together.
After the war, Nate brought Krista back to Happy Town, where he found a stable job as a postman and proposed to her. They now have a lovely son, Tom.
Rebecca then asked the other people in the coffee shop.
“Nate, he’s a good man, sometimes his honesty is a bit of a headache, he and Krista are a good match…”
"Nate was a poor child. He was an orphan who never had the warmth of a family and lived in an orphanage before joining the army..."
“Nate used to herd sheep for me. He was very talented; it’s a shame he doesn’t herd sheep anymore…”
"Nate loves coffee, and he always complains about why there's only one coffee shop in town..."
“Nate has wanted a child for a long time, and after Tom was born, his relationship with Krista became even stronger, so it's impossible for him to cheat on her…”
“Nate loves Krista very much, he would never do anything to betray her…”
“Yes, Nate participated in the Kingdom War 10 years ago. Many people died in that war. Krista was saved by Nate. Nate is her hero. At that time, Nate was only 22 years old, very young. Krista said she fell in love with Nate at first sight…”
Locke summarized all the descriptions of the people in the coffee shop and came up with Nate's character profile.
He was a retired soldier who participated in the Kingdom War 10 years ago. He was upright and kind and had saved Christa during the war. Christa fell in love with him at first sight. After the war, they lived together, got married, had children, and lived a happy life.
However, there are several problems with this.
Why are the people who joined the army at the same time as Nate already middle-aged gentlemen, while Nate is still so young?
Why does Nate like coffee, and why would such a backward rural town like Kosork have an upscale coffee shop?
The people of Happy Town know Nate so well because they all agree that he is a perfect man.
This is not normal.
Locke guessed that the entire coffee shop and Happy Town were worlds created by Christa in her imagination, bringing these innocent people in and making them play various roles, all to fulfill a false dream for her.
Perhaps Nate died in the Kingdom Wars long ago, and Krista had some kind of adventure and obtained a strange object with a very high frequency of use. This strange object helped Krista create this false world.
This allowed Krista to continue living with Nate in this world, creating a perfect Nate.
But the others weren't so lucky. They were just tools Krista used to supplement the town's residents, so she would only give them a rough identity and some specific memories. When Krista wasn't around, most of them were in a numb state. Without outside stimulation, they could sit in the coffee shop all day in a daze.
As for why the coffee shop can only be entered but not exited, it is most likely Krista's defense mechanism. She doesn't want her affairs to be known, so she doesn't allow people who enter the coffee shop to leave this world.
The irresistible aroma of coffee is actually a means of attracting people into the coffee shop and adding new residents to the town.
Why increase the population?
Locke fell into deep thought.
“There are three possibilities. One is that this strange thing needs to continue operating, which requires it to devour souls, so several people die in the town every day. In order to replenish the population, the coffee shop must absorb outsiders.”
"Secondly, Krista actively wanted to expand the world. She didn't want to live in a small town with only 60-odd people. She hoped the town would expand into a city."
"Thirdly, the strange object itself has the ability to expand continuously. It actively wants to devour the world. If left unchecked, the coffee shop will continue to devour people, and this will not be affected by Christa's subjective will."
Locke muttered to himself, while Rebecca, bored, stuck out her tongue and licked the mirror.
"It has absolutely no taste, really."
This demon has become so hungry that it's even licking mirrors.
She probably figured that if she couldn't have Locke, licking him would be just as good.
Locke rolled his eyes at her and said,
"Don't you have any ability to think at all, Rebecca?"
"What do you mean I haven't? I've already mastered chocolate custard and seafood rice. Please stop thinking about new dishes. I really want to devour your brain before I eat your soul. This damn creativity."
Rebecca complained.
Locke shook his head, feeling that getting Rebecca to think was a difficult thing, perhaps because she had lost two-thirds of her soul.
Rebecca is now just a simple, wicked, and not very intelligent demon.
If she can't transform into a cute and charming person, she will be useless.
Speaking of transformations, I wonder if Eileen, who can transform, has realized she's missing.
Time in the mirror is different from time outside.
Besides asking about Nate, a key figure, Locke also had Rebecca ask the people around them about Galken.
Surprisingly, these people whose memories had been altered, or rather, who were being controlled, had no idea who Galken was, nor was there any Galken here.
Krista's surname is not Galken.
They didn't even know why the coffee shop was called Galken Coffee Shop.
"What do we do now?"
"Rebecca asked."
"Let's go to town and take a look."
Locke was unable to summon his clone back, so he could only use Rebecca as his eyes and legs.
Rebecca nodded, rolled up the strawberry and apple pies on the tables of those people who were lost in thought, put them into her cloth bag, and walked out of the coffee shop.
