Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star

Chapter 107 - Ch. 107 Imagining Marriage Life

"I will confess that I have a wife." Max's answer was so smooth, as if giving an honest statement to confirm that Max was indeed married.

It was normal for Max. He is a blue king. Once the blue king finds his true love, the girl automatically becomes his 'wife.' Max had even given Chleo the 'ownership' mark.

When Max kissed the back of Chleo's hand in his reading room, Max gave a little of his cold energy just above Chleo's ring finger. It was not much visible because their feelings were still just growing. Over time, when their feelings for each other grew, the mark would be visible to the human eye.

It's like someone planting a seed in the earth. It took water and time to grow the seeds into beautiful flowers. It was the same in Max's case.

Max planted the 'seeds' into Chleo's body. All they need to do was establish a relationship like any average couple and do everything any couple does until they are unable to live without each other.

When that time comes, a beautiful mark would appear around Chleo's ring finger. The pattern resembled a ring, but this was no ordinary ring. It's a symbol of proof that they were meant to each other.

If you're asking whether Axelard Cavendish did the same thing as Max or not, the answer is no. Chleo fell in love with Alexis at that time, and Axel knew it very well. Even if Axelard forced himself to plant the seed on Chleo's fingers, the seed would not grow because of how much Chleo hates him. Instead, there was a chance Chleo would get sick if he put his energy on her while the girl hated him so much.

Then why did the current blue king do it? The answer is very simple.

Currently, Chleo's eyes were only on one man, and that was Maximillian. Unlike the red-haired Chleo, this Chleo only fell in love with the blue king.

Maximillian need not worry that his true love will not reciprocate his feelings. That's why he dared to plant the seeds of proof of their passion into Chleo's hands. Because he was sure no woman could make him fall in love like this.

So, don't be surprised if Max answers Chleo's questions so casually without thinking about the impact that Chleo will receive.

"You… are you married??"

Max wondered why Chleo's tone of voice is like someone in pain and why her brown eyes are teary? Did he misspeak?

"If you are already married, why are you approaching me?"

"What?" ah, finally Max began to understand the main problem. His answer was so ambiguous that it made Chleo misunderstood.

Max stopped his car on the side of the road to clear up this misunderstanding. The two of them just got into a relationship. Max didn't want to ruin their first day with a trivial matter like this.

"Chleo, you misunderstood. I've never been married before. When I say I'm married, I mean you."

Chleo widened even more hearing this. "But… we're not married yet."

Max smiled gently as he answered. "I want to marry you someday. After all, sooner or later, we will get married."

Chleo didn't know how many times had she felt as if her heart had stopped hearing this young man's unexpected declaration. And again, why is Max so confident that their relationship will end in marriage?

Plus… why did she continuously receive a hand in marriage from the guys who confessed their feelings toward her?

Are all men in this world like that? Are there so many old-fashioned men like her father?

"What is it? Don't you want to marry me?"

When Alexis asked her out, Chleo thought about accepting him. But when she heard Alexis' intention to marry her, Chleo immediately abandoned her intention for fear of being bound for life.

She's still young, after all. Chleo was only twenty years old, and talk about marriage was too early for her.

Her mother had just married at twenty-seven, while Aunt Katie and Aunt Meisya over thirty had just married her two uncles.

But a twenty years old Chleora Regnz got two proposals in the same month! Is fate playing tricks on her?

"Chleo, you don't want to marry me?" asked Max, interrupting her thoughts.

Chleo was about to reply that she didn't want to think about marriage first. But when her eyes met with those beautiful blue eyes, Chleo seemed to see another world.

She seemed to see herself and Max sitting together on a long bench facing a beautiful flower garden. He could also see herself being hugged by Max from behind as they cruise on a private yacht. She could even see Max playing with several small kids who had similar faces to the young man's.

Good grief! Did she imagine the times of their married life just now?

This has never happened before!

"Chleo?"

Hearing her name being called in an anxious voice, Chleo knew she had to give this man a definite answer immediately.

Chleo grabbed the man's hand and brought it to her cheek.

Oh, how good it felt. Chleo was sure she had felt this good feeling before, but she couldn't remember exactly where or when.

"You know, I never thought about marriage before. I guess I'm not old enough to think about a lifelong commitment. Surprisingly, I don't mind if the one who tied me up was you. I think… I am willing to be your wife someday."

Max smiled broadly at that. He didn't hide his relief expression in front of Chleo at all. It made Chleo realized something.

She remembered Max would keep a straight yet friendly face whenever a stranger meets him. But whenever he was with her, Max never hid his feeling and be himself as if he was a free spirit.

In this respect, Max was very similar to her father. Very good at concealing their feelings.

Little did she know, one of the people who had taught her father to conceal his real feelings and put a 'mask' was Vasili Peskhov, none other than the blue king himself.

Thus, Chleo could find some similarities between her father and Max. Even this man's profession was the same as her father's job at his youth age. An ordinary photographer!

"But you know. If you want to marry me, it looks like you will have to face three… ah no, but four men who are too overprotective of me."

"Four men?"

"My papa, my fierce uncle, my overreacting uncle, and also my narcissistic brother. Whenever there are young men who want to ask me out, they all always interfere and cancel our dating plans."

Max chuckled at that. Only the father did not get the eccentric nickname from Chleo. "Why do I feel like you are challenging me?"

"I'm not challenging you. I'm just warning you. Don't worry. I will definitely protect you from them."

Max laughed out loud at that. "I'm looking forward to it."
