It's been a week since the disappearance of the design drawing in Division I… to be more precise, since Chleo officially dated a handsome man named Maximillian Navarro.

Per Chleo's request, Max did not publish their relationship to Dietrich or Fye. Neither did Chleo tell Evie and Diego because it was certain that the two of them would immediately report to their parents.

Uncle Kinsey and her dear Aunt Katie moved to Louisiana while Uncle Steve and his wife moved to Los Angeles. Meanwhile, her twin aunts found a Singaporean husband so they also moved there once they got married.

Chleo sighed heavily. A large family that used to gather at any time has now scattered to all corners of the world.

And this year would be the first year their whole family would be reunited as a whole. There was even Uncle Ben and Aunt Felicia and Aunt Vanvan in attendance.

Her father would use his newly built resort on a private island to house all of their extended family.

Chleo had been looking forward to the day when she would be reunited with all her cousins ​​and her two favorite uncles. She had even prepared a game to fill the family event. She planned to prank the adults through her game.

Alas… if Chleo goes back to New York and joins the resort's vacations, she won't see Max for a week.

"Chleo, give this usb to Xavier, and you can go home after that," Jaydn said and handed Chleo an orange usb.

"Eh? I could go home already?" Chleo glanced at her computer clock and it was only four o'clock in the afternoon! Wouldn't they usually finish in an hour?

"Yes. I got a message from the manager saying you're allowed to come home at four. It sounded like he was pushing you out. Did you do something wrong?"

"I'm not sure. But I don't think I did anything wrong."

"You must correct that reckless nature of yours as soon as possible. I wonder why your father let you wander around here alone."

"Tsk! What do you mean I'm alone? Did you forget that there were two people watching me secretly?"

"Isn't it four? I've seen at least four different people following you here."

Chleo slapped her forehead just remembering the new bodyguard her father had sent because of Ashley's fake video incident. Chleo instantly panicked. She had pleaded, more accurately threatened the two previous bodyguards not to report her relationship with Max to her father. "Max! How did you know I'm already done?"

"Just happened to drop by here. Who would have thought that you were already done?"

In fact, Max asked Dietrich to tell Chleo to come home early so he could be with Chleo longer than usual.

"What is it? Did something happen to your job?"

"It's nothing."

"Is Mrs. Montgomery troubled you again?"

If it was, then Max would fire the woman because he didn't want anyone to stress Chleo about her job no matter how much good services the old lady did.

Max still kept the woman despite Dietrich's proposal to fire her because the older woman was a descendant of his mother's sibling. You could say, the woman was one of his cousin's grandchildren. That's why Max kept the older woman in his company until her retirement.

Max might be known as an indifferent or cold person, but in reality, he cares about the fate of his family and their descendants. He was also still supervising the development of Alexis, who was currently struggling to maintain his assets in Russia. 

Max wouldn't intervene directly, but he would use someone else's hand to assist Alexis in case the boy was already at his lowest point.

The blue king was a man filled with passion and forgiving at the same time; he would not be mercy at anyone who dares to touch something that belongs to him.

By now, he had considered Chleo as his own, his wife, because that girl was his true love. He wouldn't let anyone hurt Chleo or make it difficult for her, even if that person was his family.

"Not really. Mrs. Montgomery did nothing. I was thinking about something else." Chleo replied finally realizing she couldn't lie to this man. Especially since Max had told her that she was like an open book, so it would be a waste to want to keep things a secret from him.

"Thinking of what? You seem restless thinking about it." Max asked softly while stroking the back of her head affectionately.

"I… I was thinking of you," Chleo replied, blushing like a tomato, leaving Max at a loss for words.

"..." Never did she thought that his lover's tongue could be this sweet.

But he knew her sweet-talking was only a diversion from the actual thing.
