Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star

Chapter 109 - Ch. 109 Chleo's Distraction Sweet Phrase

Max began to recognize what the girl's habits were. Sometimes the girl could be careless, but at the same time, she could be so meticulous. The incredible thing about Chleora was her incredibly sharp memory.

Just one look, Chleo could memorize whatever she saw. At the same time, if Chleo were too panicked or too excited, then what she remembered would be forgotten just like that.

Her flaw was unique but also adorable. How could one forget something so quickly when one was too excited? It's a very rare and unique weakness.

Another fascinating thing was that when Chleo wants to hide something from him but couldn't lie. That girl would change the topic of their conversation in a way that Max never thought of.

Like this time, Chleo clearly had something on her mind, but maybe it was a personal matter, and she wasn't ready to reveal it to Max yet, so the girl stated something that made his heart flutter.

When Chleo faced a problem because Mrs. Montgomery quipped sharply, Chleo didn't complain to Max. She felt she had received Max's kindness by helping her meet Dietrich face-to-face when she was accused of stealing design papers.

Therefore, the fact that she was insulted by Mrs. Montgomery or being bullied by coworkers from other divisions, trivial things like this he didn't complain to Max about. Of course, Max could tell right away that something was upsetting Chleo, and he wanted to find out why. But whenever he asked, the girl always spoke things that made him distracted.

'I miss you.'

'Do you know that every time I see your face, all my worries go away?'

"I… I thought of you."

Whether Max was used to her unusual distraction phrase or not, Max was certain that something that was bothering his wife-to-be at this time is not so urgent. In other words, if Chleo had diverted the conversation like this, it meant Chleo wasn't in the mood to talk about it.

"And I think about you twice as much," Max replied while holding Chleo's hands and slightly bent his body to level their gaze. "You promised me to tell me everything if someone bothered you, right?" only this time, Max didn't want to budge. He wanted to make sure that the girl wasn't bullied and could work in peace in his company's office.

"It's nothing. I'll tell you later." Chleo sighed softly, knowing she could no longer avoid the man's question.

She was glad that Max cared about her so much. She was happy that Max was so worried about her. She felt pampered, adored, and above all, she feels loved.

Chleo had been showered by overflowing love from both her parents, grandfathers, and uncles.

But the feeling right now was very different. The way Max loved her was also different from that of her family. Ah, if only her father could accept Max's presence in his daughter's life... if only her father weren't Vincentius Regnz, but just an ordinary person, then Chleo wouldn't have to worry about this kind of thing.

She was sure that her father would be more agreeable with Max than with Alexis. Maybe Alexis had a similar principle of life to her father, but the young man had no joy in the photographic field. On the other hand, Maximillian was a photographer, and he was good at it. Sometimes Chleo could see her father on this man when Max captured her image in his camera. Was it possible that she fell in love with Maximillian just because this young man resembled her father?

"As long as you're okay, I won't force you." Max continued while leading her towards the parking lot. "Where are we going today?"

"Shall we go to the cake shop for a bit? It will be Diego's birthday soon. I'll buy him his favorite cake and also…."

"And also?"

"I think… I'll introduce you to Diego as my boyfriend." Chleo didn't know how many times her face turned beet red every time she was with this man.

Max smiled broadly at that. "I like it very much."

Finally, at least he could openly date Chleo. Max couldn't understand why they have to hide their relationship until this moment.

He was sure that Diego was suspicious of their relationship. Even though the boy looked indifferent and ignorant, Diego had great consciousness, just like Vincent. That's why he was sure that Diego already knew about their relationship even though Chleo didn't tell her brother anything.

"Okay, then let's go."

The two of them went to the best cake shop in town and ordered a special cake in the shape of a racing motorbike. The filling for the cake was chocolate mixed with white moose and cheese—something Diego would love.

"Why a motorbike?"

"Ah, he aspires to have a big motorbike. But papa forbids it so Diego can only see it on TV."

"Oh." Motorbike? It seems that the image of Diego riding a big motorbike fits perfectly in his memory. Why did he feel he had seen Diego riding a big motorbike somewhere?

When Chleo was about to pay for an order delivered in two days to her house, Chleo got an incoming message from her eccentric professor.

He said something was missing from her painting and needed a special brush to fix it. He told her to go to campus to pick up the brush in the painting storage area and then deliver it to his lecturer's studio.

"It looks like I have to go to campus after this."

"Why?"

"The painting for this semester's final project needs correction. My professor told me to take a special brush on campus and fix my painting in his studio."

"What should it be today?"

"I'm sorry," was her short answer. Chleo didn't want to do it right now either, especially since she was on a date with Max.

"It's okay. I'll take you now."

Chleo smiled broadly at that. Ah, she was so lucky to have such a caring man like him. Max never forced her or put her in a difficult position. Instead, he always accompanies her, comforting her and providing solutions whenever she encounters problems. Chleo felt she was lucky to have met Maximillian in her life.

Arriving at the campus, Chleo asked Max to wait for her at the usual cafe. Max agreed while Falcon flew above, watching Chleo running towards the campus building.

It took about fifteen minutes from the main lobby of the campus to the storage area for painting equipment in the art department if she walked leisurely. Chleo decided to run to get the brush tool more quickly.

Once inside the storage room, located under the basement, Chleo looks for a light switch. This place barely gets any light from outside, so she needed the lamp. But when looking for the light switch, an unexpected loud sound suddenly was heard.
