This question sounded ridiculous when posed to the rulers of nature. In customary, the rulers of nature could only fall in love once, and their feelings would end at their death.

Evie glanced to the side and was astonished to see the perfect blush on her cousin's face. Not only that, Chleo, who had never been bashful in her whole life, now lowered her head and occasionally glanced at Max while smiling shyly?!

Evie looked at her cousin in disbelief and wonder. Now she realized something… she noticed the stark difference in her cousin's reaction.

Chleo had never been so timid when she was alone with Alexis. Chleo also never stole glances at a man like Chleo did now.

Evie thought Chleo had fallen in love with Alexis and was comfortable with him all this time, so the girl didn't have to be so bashful. Plus, Chleo always seemed happy whenever Alexis came to visit her campus.

Uh? Wasn't the girl also happy when Diego came to visit her? Or when Theo happened to be on a study tour in Seattle and visited her campus in his spare time, wasn't Chleo just as happy?

Does that mean, Chleo never had a thing towards Alexis? The only feeling Chleo had was a comfortable feeling like being with her family?

Evie stroked her temple because she still couldn't digest all the information she had found. But a second later, her face flashed a smile.

Evie grabbed Chleo's hand gently. "Alright, then. I'm also happy for you. Now I know you don't have a dull heart. I was worried you'd end up liking women if…."

"Evie!" Chleo tickled her cousin's waist unexpectedly, causing Evie to squeal in surprise while laughing.

"I'm joking, I'm joking!"

Seeing the atmosphere behind so crowded made the two men sitting in front smiled amusedly while shaking their heads.

"Thanks, E. I really meant it."

"Don't mention it," Evie said, letting Chleo lean on her shoulders.

Even though Chleo was a few months older, she sometimes acted like a little sister and thought of Evie as her older sister.

Finally, Chleo got Evie's approval. Now, all that's left was Diego. If Chleo could get support from Evie and Diego, at least she wouldn't have to worry if her father found out about Max.

The two of them would help her persuade her father to give them his blessing. Chleo was sure that Diego would support her and then together persuade their mother. Once her mother gave her blessing, then getting consent from her father was no longer impossible.

Chleo had planned this on purpose after remembering that two new bodyguards were watching her secretly. She didn't ask them if they had reported her closeness to Max to her father or not. She didn't want to make the two of them suspicious and instead looked for a way to separate them.

Chleo hummed happily impatiently to tell her brother. She was sure that her brother would support her one hundred percent because she knew the only person who would stand up for her and help her no matter what she did was Diego Regnz.

During the trip to Chleo's house, the four of them exchanged pleasantries. Evie also begins to be friendly with Max. They enjoyed their small talk until they arrived at Chleo's modest home.

The four of them got out of the car as soon as Dietrich parked his car. Evie and Chleo walked in front while two men followed behind them.

"X, I'm glad to hear that you guys are officially in a relationship," stated Dietrich sincerely.

"I thought you already knew? We've been together since last week."

"Ah. I do not know. You never told me."

Max patted Dietrich on the shoulder gently. "Then you still have a long way to catch," he walked away, leaving Dietrich, who was pensive trying to digest his last sentence.

In other words, Dietrich still had to hone his sensibility to whatever was going on around him?

Dietrich sighed. What can you expect from someone who just received his graduation certificate a few months ago?

He was accepted as president director in front of the commissioners was something to be proud of. But Max expected more from him. Really. Sometimes his blue king master expected the impossible!

Chleo rang the doorbell several times. Because there was no response, Chleo knocked on the door while calling her brother.

"Diego, are you in there?"

"Maybe he went out?"

"No. He said he wanted to stay at home all day. He said he would do a dungeon quest with his online friends."

"Maybe he's too busy on his quest." Evie snorted nonchalantly. "Why don't you open it with your key?"

"Oh, you're right."

Max smiled, amused at his lover's behavior. Sometimes it was times like this that Chleo's sharp memory was useless. She often forgets trivial things like opening the door.

Max could see Chleo rummaging through her bag, making him guess she must have lost her house keys.

"Don't tell me… you lost the key?"

Apparently, not only could Max guess, the cousin who had known Chleo for a long time could also assume the inevitable fact.

"I think... I left it in my room. I don't remember putting the house key in the bag."

"Spare key?"

"It should be here," Chleo moved towards the plant pot that was located at the end of the terrace of her house. Then she shifted the pot until she found a silver object there. "Here!"

"Why do you keep the key under the plant pot?" Max asked in amazement. This was something new from Chleo's side that he had never seen before.

"I don't know if you noticed it or not, but this kid is super careless. She's an expert to lose her house keys." Evie's sudden announcement made Chleo feel embarrassed.

"Evie, stop it."

"That's why she keeps a spare key under the pot so that when she loses or forgets to bring her house key, she can still get into the house."

"Evie," Chleo scoffed, hoping her cousin would stop the chattering.

"Do you still like her after knowing his weakness?"

"Evie!!"

Dietrich just sighed at the very outspoken attitude of his lover.

"I still like her. I think her frustrated expression looks adorable."

Evie was speechless at this while Chleo felt her face heat up again.

The saying about love is blind is true, apparently. Maximillian didn't care about Chleo's god-level clumsiness and only saw the beauty of her face.

Well, Chleo did look rather adorable when frustrated or confused, so she believed his words right away.

"Alright, stop teasing me. Come in," urged Chleo without looking at her cousin and lover. She decided to look for her brother, who unexpectedly did not come out to welcome her. "Diego? Diego?" alas, no response from within.

"Could he be sleeping?" even though it seemed impossible, but Evie felt that Diego had spent the whole day lazing in his room.

Chleo was about to walk towards her brother's room when she didn't find the boy in the main room. To walk to her sister's room, she passed through the backyard door, which happened to be wide open at the moment.

Chleo paused for a moment wondering why the door was wide open in this cold weather. Finally, she decided to close the door first before returning to look for her brother.

But when she walked closer, she saw her brother's body now lying like a lifeless person on the back porch.

"DIEGO!!" Her booming panicked voice attracted the attention of three guests in this house.

Chleo tried to wake her brother and touched his skin which was now icy cold. She couldn't help it, and her tears began to gather and trickle down her cheeks.

What happened to her dear brother?
