Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star

Chapter 116 - Ch. 116 Two Conflicting Memories

Instantly Chleo's hysterical screams made three of her guests come over to her. Just like Chleo, Evie was also shocked by what she saw.

Even though she often bickering with Diego, Evie still loves Diego like her brother. She was distraught and almost shed tears when she saw Chleo's crying, which was getting worse because Diego didn't wake up.

Max deftly carried Diego while telling Dietrich to take the car.

Then they arranged Diego into the car while Evie helped Chleo by getting a jacket and blanket she could find to warm Diego.

Max and Dietrich were sitting in the front because Dietrich was driving their car while Diego was flanked by Chleo and Evie in the passenger seat. Chleo and Evie hugged Diego very tightly, hoping to increase Diego's body temperature.

Chleo was still sobbing as she kept trying to wake Diego up while Max contacted someone to prepare a room for Diego.

Once they arrived at the hospital, three or four doctors immediately intervened to treat Diego's condition. They immediately took Diego to the emergency room to check on Diego's condition.

"He must be fine. He was a nosy and strong kid. He couldn't possibly fall like this so easily. He'll be fine." comforted Evie as she hugged Chleo, who was still crying.

Max couldn't bear to see Chleo crying like this. He sat next to Chleo and gently stroked the top of her head.

Chleo slowly moved away from Evie and then shifted into Max's arms.

For some reason, Chleo's heartfelt much calmer when it was Max who comforted her.

Max's embrace, which was quite cold, made her feel comfortable for some reason. The man's gentle voice also brought peace to her restless heart.

Not long after, one of the doctors who checked Diego's condition came out and told them that apart from a cold body temperature, Diego was fine.

Diego had been lying on the cold floor for too long in the cold wind without wearing any jacket so that his body could become icy cold.

Luckily, they found Diego just in time before his heart weakened due to the body temperature being too low. That's why the boy's condition was not too critical.

Hearing the doctor's statement made them sigh in relief.

Chleo was about to take care of the procedure regarding her brother's hospitalization. Never did she expected that someone had already completed the procedure first. What's even more surprising, her brother was now placed in one of the hospital's best rooms.

Did she book a VIP room earlier? She didn't remember ordering anything, even though she did plan to book a VIP room for the boy beforehand.

Could it be that Evie helped her with all the procedures? Is it possible that her cousin also booked a VIP room for his sister?

Before she could ask directly, Chleo's mind was immediately distracted by Evie's question.

"Are you going to tell Uncle V and Aunt Cathy?"

"No. I don't want to worry them," replied Chleo quickly. "Besides, the doctor said Diego is fine. We only need to ensure his body temperature returns to normal by installing body heaters and his room. Let's not tell them."

"Okay. I won't tell them. It's late. I have to go home now, or else my dad will get suspicious."

"Hmm. Thank you for helping me."

"I didn't help anything. After all, Diego is my brother too."

Chleo smiled at that. This was the first time Evie admitted that Diego was her brother. If Diego ever heard this coming out of Evie's mouth, Diego would surely tease her and taunt her all day long.

"Let me know if something's up. Tell him from now on I won't buy him any sweets anymore when he wakes up. It's his punishment for giving us a heart attack."

Chleo chuckled at that. "Okay, I'll say it. But don't blame me if he's going to nag and make fun of you."

"Who's scared? I'd rather have him babbling annoyingly than fainting incoherently like that."

Chleo responded with a sad smile.

What Evie said was true. It would be deserted if there was no nagging Diego.

'Diego, you must wake up as soon as possible.' prayed Chleo with all of her heart.

Around four in the morning, Diego's index finger began to twitch regularly. Next, his eyelids began to open slowly. After blinking a few times, Diego started to see around him, which was not his bedroom.

Where is this? The last time he remembered was when he was standing in front of his sister's grave, the woman came up to him and said something about going in the past… after that…

Diego's pair of eyes opened wide as his memory flashed through. Not one but more than one conflicting memory mingled into one in his brain.

Diego held his head in one hand as so many memories flashed through his mind at high speed. He didn't even have time to process the memory image and rapidly switched to another memory image, making his head feel dizzy.

Diego closed his eyes to calm himself. He also tried to accept all the strange images that he had never experienced running through his brain. It lessened his headache if he didn't fight the memories.

The two images of conflicting memories were the ones that Diego had in his previous and current life. He remembered Kinsey and Katie were dead and yet still alive and had two adorable kids.

Diego's brow furrowed as the happy faces of Kinsey and Katie popped into his head.

What kind of memory is this? How is it possible for a dead person to come back to life?

And again, he saw his sister's face in two versions. One was a red-haired version, who was unsociable and filled with fear, while the latter was a black-haired version, who was cheerful and super clumsy but had an irresistible charisma.

Diego stroked his temple gently, trying to understand what was going through his head. On the one hand, Diego felt that he was living in the world with the red-haired version of Chleo. On the other hand, Diego believed that he was living in a world of the black-haired version of Chleo.

He never experienced it at the same time, he felt he did.

As the two memories blended perfectly, Diego's eyes opened to reveal a pair of cold blue eyes filled with dark experiences that Diego should not have had at sixteen.
