Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star

On the morning of the 24th, Max came to visit Chleo at her house. He knew that Chleo had to go back to New York this afternoon to spend the Christmas and New Year's holidays with her extended family.

Max also knew Chleo wasn't ready to introduce him to her family yet. There was something that made Chleo worried if her family found out that she was seeing him. Max had no idea what Chleo was worried about because the girl never told him or let him know she had particular anxiety.

Nevertheless, Max never asked, and he didn't force her to talk or rush to announce their relationship. Max was willing to wait until the girl was ready, then Max would appear in front of the girl's parents.

Besides, Max was worried that Vincent would recognize him as Vasili even though he had different hair. He hoped Vincent would never remember Vasili Peskhov even though the chance was low.

Well, even though Maximillian wanted to coerce, there was a powerful force that prevented him from pushing the girl. He didn't even know why. Not that he wished to force his will on the girl, but just as he was trying to break through to find out something about the girl, something made him unable to act.

That's why he never forced Chleo. Whatever the girl wanted, he would comply. Max wouldn't do anything the girl didn't like even though he was curious as to what she was hiding.

For example... he recalled Evie mentioned a guy's name. There was a young man named Al whom Evie had mentioned by accident. Who is Al, and what kind of person is he? What is his relationship with Chleo to make Evie concern? And where is this guy now?

If there weren't any restraint within him, Max would probably find a way to make Chleo enlighten his curiosity. He had a thousand ways to dig information he wanted, either in a smooth process or rough one. But he didn't.

Even though he was curious, Maximillian kept himself from finding out. As long as Chleo was willing to be with him and smile by his side, that 'Al' man or anyone who might approach Chleo is not that important.

As Max promised to himself, he would never force his will on Chleo that would hurt her. He would still fight for the girl and pour out his love for her. But if one day it turns out that Chleo left him and the proof of their passion on Chleo's ring finger does not appear, then Maximillian has no other choice but to let her go.

If they weren't meant to be together, why force it? Their married life would never be happy, and the wife he loves would only suffer.

As he thought about the possibility that Chleo wouldn't be happy, the image of a girl shedding tears appeared in his mind.

For a moment, Max felt his heart stop at the sight of the woman's tears.

He hadn't thought about the red-haired woman in a long time since he was sure he had fallen for Chleo. Why did the woman appear again now?

"Max, you're here," said Chleo and immediately hugged him without warning, making Max stunned.

Just a few seconds ago, he felt sure the woman he loved didn't love him. But now… accepting Chleo's cute clingy gesture made him very confused.

"I don't think I want to go home. Should I stay?" Chleo lifted her head to ask her god-like boyfriend.

Nevertheless, Max kept smiling as usual to hide his sickly feelings.

"Didn't you say you were looking forward to meeting your cousin from Europe?"

"Yes, I did say so. I want to meet them and others. But it doesn't feel fair. For the sake of meeting all of them, I can't meet you."

Max tightened his arms while smiling amusedly. How miraculous. Just hearing the spoiled voice of his lover, the feeling of discomfort and anxiety disappeared just like that.

"It's just one week. After that, you will come back here, and we can meet again."

"Ten days to be more precisely. I'll be back on the 2nd."

"Okay, ten days. I will miss you and wait for you in my dreams for the next ten days." was his another honey-like sweet word, and Max said it as if it was daily conversation.

For the umpteenth time, Chleo's face felt burning when she heard those sweet words. This man was getting more and more skilled at saying captivating tongue.

"Ah, I have prepared a Christmas present for you. But you will receive the gift tomorrow at your vacation place. Don't worry. I'll use the name Dietrich if you're worried that your family will find out about our relationship." Max explained with care as he noticed the gleam of concern radiating on his lover.

Chleo felt her heart warm to receive all the attention of the young man. Ah, how lucky she is to have such an understanding lover like Max.

Little did they know, two pairs of eyes investigating them from behind the window of the house.

"Aw, who have ever expected that he can be sweet too? He was all woman's dream man." Yuna praised with an adoring gaze making Diego frown. "Ow… why did you flick me?" Yuna complained while pouting because Diego flicked her forehead with his fingertips.

Diego just snorted and then went to get the bag that already contained his clothes.

"Are you jealous? It's not like you don't know me. Besides, he's too old for me. I only have you in my heart. Hmm?"

Diego kneaded his temple, hearing this.

'That's not the main reason!!' 

He didn't care that Yuna adored other men or teased him that another guy was more charming than him. He was used to his lover's quirky and coquettish behavior.

But he doesn't like it when anyone supports Axel… Max was seeing his sister.

"What time is your plane leaving?" Max asked.

"It's 12:45. We're leaving with Evie's family. Ah, I mean… it just so happens that Evie's family was also going on vacation to New York." Chleo immediately corrected her explanation so that Max wouldn't ask further why they left together with the Bernz family.

Max instantly knew what Chleo was doing. The girl was trying to hide her true identity from him. The girl still didn't know that Max knew even before they met at the airport last month.

Could it be that the girl misunderstood his feelings?

Was Chleo afraid that if he found out about her background, his feelings would change? Or is she worried that he will feel unworthy of her and would leave her?

Whichever it is, sooner or later, Max has to clear up this misapprehension. However, he also felt confused about explaining to the girl that he already knew Chleo's factual family background.

Well, he could figure out a way or make up a story to let Chleo know that he already knew her family background without making her think of him as a stalker.

He also had to find a way to tell the girl his true identity. But the fact that he's not an ordinary human, but a blue king… will that girl freak out?

Most people would find his story strange and maybe think he was crazy. Even if they believe, they would become afraid of his power and try to stay away from him.

What a pity. If only Max knew that Chleo was waiting for the arrival of the ice prince, who was the blue king, he would have revealed his identity much earlier.

Maximillian had absolutely no idea… or rather, he didn't remember that Chleo already knew that the rulers of nature existed in this world.

And Chleo once met two rulers at once in her childhood days.

One was Aunt Katie, the previous Flame Queen, while the other was her ice prince.

"I'll take you to the airport then."

"Okay."

The truth is, Chleo wanted to avoid a meeting between Max with Benjamin and Felicia. But at the same time, she couldn't refuse the man's offer. After all, she still wanted to be with that man a little longer before they had to be separated for ten days.

After packing with Yuna, who had stayed for two days, they all had lunch together treated by Max. Only then did Max take them to the airport.

After saying goodbye to each other, Yuna walked with Chleo towards the lounge where the Bernz family was waiting for them.

"Maximillian Navarro, isn't it?"

Max looked at his lover's brother in wonder without losing his friendly smile.

"I'm only going to say it once." Diego suddenly said in a serious and cold tone. "Make sure you never make my sister cry."

"I won't."

"And one more thing. You probably already know that, but… there's someone who's after my sister's life. Prove it that you can protect her. And also…" Diego walked over and whispered very quietly. "I know who you are. Don't ever you dare to use your power to threaten my sister."
