Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star

Chapter 141 - Ch. 141 Ewald's Arrival

That afternoon, Abi and Chleo waited in the main lobby to welcome the Ewald family who would come to the resort. Vincent had informed his parents about Ewald's arrival, and as expected, his father was highly enthusiastic about meeting Ewald.

Vincent exhaled a heavy sigh, knowing his father had treated Ewald like his own son.

Before Vanessa was born, Joseph had long wanted a son. But their first child turned out to be a girl. Even so, Vanessa still gets unconditional love from her parents.

Two years later, Ewald's father had an accident and left a toddler orphaned. Joseph decided to take Ewald under his wing.

Not long after, Vienna became pregnant again, and this time they had a son. Realizing that their expenses were increasing, Joseph worked full-time for a mouthful of rice.

At that time, the Regnz family was not as big as it is now. The Regnz family was only a descendant of Chinese mixed blood who migrated to America.

Chloeny Paxton had Vincent scouted by one of the elite members by accident, causing their business ventures to change. Vincent secretly helped his father's business from behind the scenes so that it was now growing so big as it is today.

If they hadn't met Chloeny Paxton, if Vincent hadn't been taught how to run a business and build an elite member simultaneously, maybe they wouldn't be what they are today.

If Joseph's relatives had known that Cathy's family had done so much, they probably wouldn't have been so cynical about Cathy. But what can he do? Cathy preferred to bury the history of her family. She wanted to live a new life where she didn't need to worry about Paxton's legacy.

If someone knew her past by accident, then let them know. If someone didn't know it yet, Cathy or anyone else didn't need to tell them. Vincent didn't have a choice but to honor his wife's decision even though it irked him every time his father's relatives insulted Cathy.

After waiting for a few minutes, the van that picked up the Ewalds from the pier appeared at the resort's main lobby door. Several waiters immediately opened the car door and unloaded the belongings of Ewald's family.

Chleo and Abi greeted them with a friendly and respectful smile. The two girls received a hug and a light peck on the cheek from Graham and Megan, who also smiled happily at them.

Chleo and Megan even screamed hysterically like kids with great enthusiasm, making Graham and Abi giggle at their behavior.

It was a different case for Hadley as the second child of the three siblings. Hadley was annoyed that her sister and Chleo's voices were so noisy.

"Don't yell, you two! It's hurting my ears!!"

Megan stuck her tongue out at her sister, completely unconcerned about her complaints.

"What is this? Where's Vincent? Shouldn't he be the one welcoming us? Why did he only send kids to greet us?" this time, it was Ewald's wife who complained in a displeasure tone that made Graham sigh.

"Papa is arranging a villa for you to live in. I'm sure he will choose the best for you," replied Chleo in a polite tone.

She decided not to irritate his father's cousin any more than this and acted maturely. She behaved like a good girl, and so did Megan, knowing Chleo didn't want to annoy her mother.

"He can have his wife prepare our place. He should have come to greet us!"

Chleo frowned disapprovingly of this. What does this woman think of her mother as? A maid?

What right did the older woman have to ask Vincent to welcome her? Was her father unemployed and a janitor who had to serve them?

Chleo did not like Rebecca's attitude for as long as she could remember. The older woman loved to think that everyone around her was her underling.

"Mom, don't talk nonsense. At least we are welcomed here," said Graham patiently.

"Nonsense!?" shouted Rebecca with bulging eyes as if her eyeballs were about to pop out of place.

"Stop it." Ewald patted his wife's shoulder to comfort her. "Let's go in first. Didn't you say you were hungry? Abi, take us to the dining room so we can have lunch."

"Okay. Please come here."

Unlike Abi, who was still polite and untroubled, Chleo snorted harshly. What a great couple. They considered the younger ones to be their helpers and gave orders.

It was the same with Aunt Vanessa and her father. Even though the two had assets that way above Ewald's, the man never felt reluctant to give them orders. He believed the phrase, 'Younger ones had to respect and obey the elders no matter how wealthy the younger one becomes.'

"Oh, Chleo. I don't know how embarrassed I am about my parents. I'm truly sorry for it."

"No. I should be the one apologizing for being so rude. I shouldn't have snorted."

"I can understand why," replied Megan in a soothing tone. "I'm used to snorting or mocking stares from everyone. You don't have to feel guilty."

Chleo felt even more guilty. Ah, how can those two annoying adults have a daughter as kind as Megan? Megan was too good to be their daughter.

Graham was also kind and not as annoying as his parents, but sometimes the young man was arrogant and gave orders as he will.

The difference is, Graham knows his place better than his parents. He would only dictate on people who work under him or people who were not on his level. But the young man never gave orders to his siblings or his family or his close friends. The young man still values family bonds and friendships.

On the other hand, Hadley behaved the same as his parents. Maybe even worse.

She dared to give a commanding tone to Graham and her sister. She even had the guts to command her parents if she didn't get what she wanted.

Compared to Megan, Hadley was more beautiful, and she knew how to entice a man. Ewald and Rebecca valued their oldest daughter more than the other kids.

What a messed-up family.
