Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star

Chapter 159 - Ch. 159 Someone Targets Chleo

Dark.

Empty.

Lonely.

Cold.

Wait. Cold? Isn't he a blue king? He had never felt cold before. How could he feel the cold now?

Where is he?

Maximillian looked around and realized he was in a void dimension. There were no walls, no floors, or living creatures. How did he get in here?

'X, be cautious. They want a soul that has a source of life energy.'

Max instantly turned his body to find the source of the sound. But because the sound was coming from all directions, it was tough for him to find it.

"Who is it? Who are you?"

'They managed to get Chleora Regnz's soul.'

What?

'But time had reversed, and the current Chleo didn't have the flame king's energy. They will look for her again. The soul they previously obtained is gradually fading and dying.'

His heart tightened when he heard someone target Chleo.

"Who are they? Why are you telling me all this? Chleo did not have any rulers' energy. She won't be their target."

There was no answer from the voice, but instead, a blinding light emerged out of nowhere. Max followed the light, and he arrived at an unfamiliar room.

Wait. Max had seen this room before but couldn't quite remember when he had come here.

"Chloe, I'm sorry. Please, please wake up. Don't leave me." there was a despairing voice from the bed.

Max sharpened his eyes and saw a young man sleeping there. It seemed that the young man was having a nightmare as his face was covered in sweat, and his brows were knit together, showing a deep agony.

But what surprised him was not because of this familiar room. But the young man's face.

Isn't that... Vincentius Regnz?

Yes! This was Vincent's room in the all-male dormitory when that man was in his college year.

What is he doing here? No. He remembered what he was doing here. He remembered that he had come to America at Zigfried's request to check on Vincent, who was recovering from acute depression.

And sure enough, Max could see himself appearing there and then put his hand on Vincent's forehead.

Now he remembered it! Max had once channeled his energy to seal some of Vincent's bitter memories.

Therefore, Vincent could forget Chloeny Paxton's face. Max made Vincent forget the fact that he was one of the causes of her death. That way, the young man's life will be much better, and his recovery will progress well.

However, the memory returned when Vincent met Cathy, who was now his wife. Luckily all went well and ended happily.

Still, Max had no idea… he had forgotten this essential fact. He had no recollection of ever giving a small portion of his life energy source to Vincent.

Chleo has inherited the source of the blue king's life energy from Vincent! No wonder, Chleo could stand his cold skin. No wonder he had a crush on the girl.

Max's chest suddenly felt tight. For some reason, he felt something blocking his throat, making it difficult to breathe. Slowly but surely, black dots began to appear in his vision before finally filling him, and he plunged back into the darkness.

He could see nothing or hear, but he could feel a gentle caress on his head. The warm and comforting hand could lessen his anxiety.

The more he calmed down, the more the gentle caress became. Curious as to who had given him peace of mind, Max opened his eyes. He breathed a sigh of relief when he recognized his room in.

"Are you awake?"

Max turned to the side and saw Chleo sitting next to his head while her hand stroked his forehead to the top.

"What happened to me?"

"That's exactly what I wanted to ask you. Why did you suddenly faint? Is it because I kissed you on the cheek? I shouldn't have done it. I didn't expect you to fall ill as soon as I kissed you."

Max smiled, amused at Chleo's deliberate grunt.

"Maybe next time, you should do it on the lips, so I don't faint."

Chleo didn't know how many times she had to roll her eyes to hear the absurd words of her lover. What a shameless man!!

Chleo averted her gaze, refusing to look at Max's triumphant gaze while she had absolutely no idea; Max could see her now reddened ears.

Even though Chleo looked angry and annoyed at him, her hand still didn't stop stroking his head, making his heart warm.

"Were you the one who rubbed my head?"

"Hmm. I remember Fye did it for you, and you're getting better. So I think you'll also get better if I do it."

What Fye and Chleo did was very different. Fye channeled her energy transfusion while Chleo gave him peace and calmed his soul.

"I think it's time for me to go home. Do you have someone who can drive me home?"

"…"

"You have a lot of attendants here. You should have a driver too, right?"

"I'll take you home."

Max was about to get up but was stopped by Chleo. "No, master X. I won't let you out of this place. You need rest."

Max didn't argue anymore and lay back down. Even so, he didn't miss the nickname that came out of the girl's mouth.

"Master X?"

"I heard your attendants called you that when you fell unconscious. So, who will take me home?" Chleo had to go home now, or she would be staying here otherwise.

"Just let me sleep in ten minutes, and then I'll drive you home." Max insisted on driving Chleo home himself. More precisely, he didn't want any man to take his girl home.

Even so, he knew his condition well, and he still hasn't recovered to drive long distances. He would rest another ten minutes while gathering his strength.

It's just… a naughty idea crossed his mind.

Max pulled Chleo's waist closer then tilted his body to rest his head on Chleo's thigh comfortably.

Chleo held her breath as her legs felt a bit heavy because Max's head was resting perfectly on her thighs.

"Max… wh… what are you doing?"

"Sssh… Let me sleep."

The shameless man closed his eyes solemnly and fell asleep instantly.

Chleo let out a sigh of hopelessness seeing him. She never expected Max to use her thighs as his pillow, yet she didn't want to wake him.

One minute… two minutes… up to ten minutes went by unnoticed. It was time for Chleo to wake Max up, but she didn't have the heart to do it when she saw her lover sleep soundlessly.. And then the drowsiness assaulted her before she fell asleep too.
