After being held back by her two aunts, Chleo was finally able to be alone with Max. Chleo put a sullen face from the beginning to end, seeing Kinsey constantly unconcerned toward Max while Stanley teased her at every opportunity. From now on, those two were no longer her favorite uncles!

Max chuckled at Chleo's adorable pout. To ease the girl's bad mood, Max rubbed the top of her head lovingly.

"Why are you frowning? I'd rather see you smile."

"I don't buy it. You've been teasing me lately, so I'm not in the mood to smile."

"That's because you're adorable when you pout." Max gently pinched the girl's springy cheeks, which had become his habit. "But for now, I want to see your smile."

Chleo snorted in annoyance, pretending to disapprove of his proposal. Nevertheless, she gave a faint smile only for a moment.

After all, she was highly annoyed with her two uncles! Why couldn't they act normal in front of Maximillian? Whereas usually, when they caught her walking with other male friends, they just acted normal. Why is today different?

"Your two uncles are unique, huh? This is my first time meeting an uncle like them."

"Vexatious is the right word. Don't you feel irritated?"

"No. Why should I? But I hope your brother won't be like your uncles."

"Why?"

"I'm afraid Diego will intimidate all the young men who try to get close to our daughter. In that case, how will our girl find a spouse?"

For the umpteenth time, Chleo was at a loss for words. Previously the man discussed their marriage, and now they were discussing their future child? They haven't even discussed their engagement yet?! How could this man's thinking be so far ahead?

Surprisingly, Chleo didn't mind it. For some reason, she herself couldn't wait to have her child with Max. Maybe a kid or two who looked like her or Max. Just imagining it made her heart fill with beautiful flowers like in spring.

"Do you imagine the faces of our future children?" guessed Max in a teasing tone.

Chleo put on a sullen face at that exact guess. Sometimes she wished this man couldn't read her expression.

Why didn't she inherit her parent's genes? Her father was very good at hiding his feeling, and so was her mother. Even Diego occasionally would act like a silly boy even though the boy was in great emotion. Why couldn't she do it?

"Chleo, Uncle Vincent, and Aunt Cathy have arrived," Harmonie shouted cheerfully as she pulled Chleo and Max's hand back inside.

Here we go. Chleo would let Max meet her parents officially.

According to Kinsey and Stanley's view, Maximillian was not nervous nor awkward when he met them. In fact, he was too relaxed for someone who had just met his lover's extended family.

They wonder, can Max still be relaxed when he meets Vincent?

Little did they know, Max was a little nervous about meeting Vincent. He could rest easy when he met Kinsey and Stanley because neither of them had ever met him.

It's different with Vincent. They had met and spent a week together when Max came to America at Zig's request. He was worried that Vincent would recognize him, especially since that man had a sharp memory.

"Hey, how was your trip?"

Max let Mrs. Alvianc welcome Vincent's family first. They hugged each other and kissed each other's cheeks before finally, a pair of sharp black eyes met his blue ones.

Max nodded his head slightly as if he was paying respects to the elder.

Vincent's brow furrowed as he looked at Max's face making Max secretly break out in a cold sweat.

Did Vincent recognize him? Does Vincent remember him?

"Papa, how was your trip?" asked Chleo, who immediately hugged her father so that Vincent stopped looking at Maximillian.

"Very pleasant. Now that we are here to see you, I feel even better."

"Hehehe…" Chleo snuggled deeper while Vincent tightened his embrace on his beloved daughter.

"Okay, then we'll go first."

"Where are you going?"

"I have to get ready. At least I have to dress up so I can look pretty tonight."

"Do you want to look pretty in front of us or in front of a certain someone?"

"Papa..." Chleo sulked, making Vincent chuckle in amused.

"Good afternoon Mr. Regnz, madam," greeted Maximillian, politely taking the initiative to approach them, realizing Chleo forgot to introduce him to them. "My name is Maximillian."

Max had 'retained' his energy so that when he shook hands with Vincent and his wife, they wouldn't notice his cold body temperature.

"Do you have time after tonight's show?"

"But papa…"

"Didn't you say you had to dress up? Go now, don't blame us if you're going to be late."

Chleo was worried that her father would do something to Max and made her lover decide to leave her.

When she saw Max's peaceful face that gave her a reassuring smile, Chleo became less worried. If Max could face her two uncles and Diego, who was initially cynical about him, maybe Max could handle her overprotective father.

Chleo had no idea that what Max was apprehensive about was neither intimidation nor Vincent's rejection of their relationship. He was sure he would be able to get Vincent's blessing as a Navarro. But Max was worried that Vincent would recognize him as Vasili Peskhov.

If Vincent had rejected their relationship because of his identity as Vasili Peskhov, things would have been more complicated.

Vincent would suspect his true identity, and that older man might know Max was the blue king. If Vincent told him to stay away from his daughter because of his identity, Max would not be able to do anything. Neither could he force it because that's the main rule as the rulers of nature live in this human world.

Not too far away from the venue, a thug-like man came up to a young girl.

"I already sent the money as a down payment. I'll send the rest once you lock Chleo West up," a young girl gave a photo of a brownish-black hair girl to the man. "Make sure she can't attend the gala show tonight." continued the girl with a crooked smile.
