Chleo quickly joined her coworkers while Max went into the penthouse while waiting for the show to start. Max observed Alexis' progress in Russia with Rothbert, who also came to America with Bertha and Sherina.

"Someone claiming to be Alexis's brother? Since when did Alexsei have another son out there?"

"We've investigated it, but we still haven't found this person and his mother's origin. We only got the news that his mother died a dozen years ago, and this child lived alone with an acquaintance of his mother."

"What about Alexis's reaction?"

"At first young master seemed surprised to hear this news. He even considered giving up his rights to this mysterious brother. But then the young master changed his mind. I don't know the reason either."

"I think I do. He assumed the person claiming to be his brother was too suspicious. If indeed this person was Alexsei's son, he should have appeared to claim his inheritance. But instead of showing up, he had a lawyer take care of his inheritance. Isn't this very suspicious?"

"So, do you think this person used this chance to pretend to be Mister Peskhov's son?"

"No. Ever since the young master left England three years ago, he has never asked for help."

"Then just let it be. He felt confident in his abilities. But you can help him secretly if he hits a dead end."

"Master, when are you going to introduce your future wife to me? You promised me." cried a sweet voice from the direction of the lounge where Sherina and Bertha were engrossed in watching a drama.

"Soon enough."

"Yeah!"

"Why are you so excited?" asked Bertha in confusion.

"I want to be friends with a girl my age. You guys banned me from going to public schools because of our family tradition."

Once a child finds out X's identity as the blue king, that child would not be allowed to attend public schools or elite schools. Teenagers' emotions are still volatile, so sometimes, there will be times when they slip their tongues accidentally.

Therefore, a child would be allowed to go to public school after they could control their emotion. Usually, they were only allowed to study at university after passing a particular exam equivalent to high school.

Max chatted with the Hamiltons for a few moments before he started getting ready for the show, which began in a few hours.

Max's phone beeps indicating a message came not long after. Max opened it and smiled, seeing what it contained.

Chleo sent a selfie of herself with a beautiful face. Her make-up wasn't too flashy or gaudy, but it looked natural and matched Chleo's cheerful appearance.

'How do I look?'

Instead of replying to her, Max called her directly, and not long after, Chleo's face appeared on his screen.

"Oh, you startled me. Why are you suddenly making video calls?"

"Because I miss you."

"You are always a sweet talker, but I miss you too." Chleo turned to the side when someone called out to her. "I have to go. See you tonight."

"Are you going to wear jeans?" Max asked while stifling laughter, seeing Chleo still wearing the casual clothes worn from the Alvianc mansion.

"Of course not. I haven't changed clothes to move freely. I will change in a minute. See you later, muach!"

Max froze in place. He didn't expect the screen to be filled with the look of the pair of pink lips he'd always wanted to taste.

How could he hold himself back? He couldn't wait to meet the girl and…

Maximillian shook his head quickly to shake off his desire. Chleo's extended family was in Washington now. If Vincent found out that he stole Chleo's first kiss, he might be chopped up by Vincent and Kinsey.

Chleo came up to the person who had called her while smiling happily because she still felt the romance effect when talking to her lover.

"Chleo, the manager was looking for you in the finance department. You better hurry over there and change your clothes. We can't be late for the event."

"Got it."

Chleo immediately got into the lift to the third floor, where the finance department was. She wondered who was looking for her and why she had to meet at the administrative office?

As soon as the elevator doors opened, Chleo got out and walked towards a door with an administration sign.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

Chleo tried knocking on the door first as a courtesy. But because there was no answer from inside, Chleo opened the doorknob and peeked inside.

'Hm…how strange, there's no one.' Chleo thought, not realizing someone was standing behind her. "Ugh!" suddenly, her neck felt electrified like someone had hit her, followed by heaviness and dizziness in her head, and she blackened out.

Chleo didn't know what happened after that, but when she woke up, she couldn't see as if no one had turned on the light. Her hands and feet were being restrained by something.

Chleo wriggled to free herself and just realized her hands and feet were tightly bound while a thick black cloth covered her eyes.

What happened to her? Where is she? At least she was sure she was outside the building because she felt the cold wind hit her hard, making her shiver with cold.

Is she on the street? It didn't seem like it either because she felt that the place she was lying on seemed to be made of fine quality marble or ceramic.

Where is she, really? Was she laid on the table?

Unknown to her, Chleo was lying on the edge of the rooftop of the tower building where she would fall if she decided to move to the left side to get off the 'table.'

And now, Chleo found a space to her left and lowered her legs, hoping she could climb down.
