Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star

Chapter 178 - Ch. 178 Top Notch Disguise

While Harmonie was busy tracking Chleo's whereabouts, Max repeatedly teleported to places to look for Chleo since hearing his girl disappear. He teleported so much that it drained almost all of his energy.

At first, Max thought maybe Chleo was busy somewhere and carelessly dropped the bracelet and left her phone. That's why he only had Falcon search above while tracking the energy of the seed he planted in Chleo's fingers.

But when Falcon told him that he didn't feel Chleo's presence in the hotel at all, Max got even more worried. He teleported back and forth to the places the girl frequented while living in this city in vain. He couldn't find Chleo wherever he looked.

Max didn't look for her out of town because he believed Chleo wouldn't leave this city. Chleo was one of the people in charge of tonight's gala show, so it was impossible for the girl to abandon her responsibilities as an event committee member.

Even if someone had kidnapped her, Chleo must not have been too far from the area around the hotel since he had just had a video call with the girl a few minutes ago.

"Chleo, where exactly are you?" asked Max to himself, knowing Chleo couldn't answer him.

Maximillian still didn't give up and kept teleporting to various places while trying to trace the cold energy on Chleo's fingers. Unknowingly, time had passed, and Dietrich contacted him only to inform him that the event had started.

"Has Chleo come to the hall yet?"

"Not yet. In fact, we've been looking for Miss Chleo. Furthermore… her family has been asking about her whereabouts. I don't know what to say to them. I can no longer buy time, and sooner or later, they will know."

"I understand. I'll look for her again. Let me know if Chleo shows up."

After searching for almost half an hour without success, Maximillian groaned in frustration. He began to feel anxious and agitated. This feeling was so bad to the point it could devour his soul.

Strangely, he felt like he had experienced it before, but Max couldn't remember it.

Max clutched his chest, which was hurting as if his heart was being seized by a big hand. His mind was filled with Chleo.

Where is the girl now? Is she okay? Oh, Max hoped the girl was fine.

Max also felt he had reached his limit, but Max refused to stop.

It wasn't long before he saw a map through Falcon's mind. He didn't understand why Falcon showed him a map because right now, all he was thinking about was finding Chleo.

Before Max could terminate his telepathic connection with Falcon to focus his searching, Max saw Chleo on top of a building.

In an instant, Max disappeared and teleported. He arrived right above the head of the Falcon, who was now in his true form. Falcon's body was as towering as a pine tree with blue eyes like crystal clear and white feathers as pure as snow.

As soon as Max got one foot above his head to get ready, Falcon sped off toward New York.

Max had used too much of his teleport power that he wouldn't be able to teleport directly to great distances. He could only rely on the speed of the Falcon, which was now flying like a rocket.

They arrived right on top of the Flex group building in just ten minutes, where Chleo was trying to climb down!?

Max's heart seemed to stop at that moment as Chleo pushed the rest of her buttocks down and fell.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"

Chleo didn't expect the distance between her feet and the ground to be this far. She thought she was on the ground, but it was otherwise??

Then how could the person who was talking to her feel like standing in front of her?

Will she die? She's not even married yet. Chleo had never thought about marriage before, but she started thinking about her future ever since she met Max.

She still didn't want to die. Moreover, what will happen to her family once they see her dead body? They would all be sad when they heard the news of her death.

Just as Chleo's falling figure was about to hit the ground, she felt something cold enveloped her whole physique tightly, and then Chleo's body disappeared instantly.

The pair of blue-purple eyes watching that darkened and clenched his fists. The Vectis returned to his realm before Falcon, the blue king's guardian beast, sensed his presence.

Just as the Falcon smelled a strange scent that no creature on this earth had, it disappeared as quickly as it had come. Without suspicion, Falcon shifted back into an ordinary eagle and went back to rest for a while.

On the other hand, the impact between Max's back and the snowy ground sounded so loud in the blue king's astral place. It caused Max to groan in pain, but he ignored it as soon as he heard the girl's sobs in his arms. Max immediately got up to sit down as he removed Chleo's blindfold.

"Chleo, it's me," coaxed he, trying to calm her down.

Chleo blinked a few times and looked at him as if to find out if what she was seeing was a dream or not.

"Max? Am I dead?" there was sobbing in between her words.

Maximillian shook his head. "No, you're not," she answered softly as she untied the ropes around Chleo's hands and feet. "You're safe now."

"Huwaaaaaaaa…." as soon as Chleo could move her hands, she immediately grabbed Max's tuxedo and buried her face there. "I thought I was going to die. That was… that was... Max, I'm scared."

"Shh. I know. I'm here. I won't let that happen again." Max comforted gently even though his body was shaking with fear right now. He was afraid he would lose Chleo.

Max felt that he would not be able to live if Chleo left this world.

It was the first time he had felt this kind of fear. He was petrified to see the girl he loved die in front of his eyes. For some reason, he could see Chleo's figure covered in blood as if he had seen it before.

With trembling hands, Max hugged Chleo tighter while showing her crown with his kisses.

He felt so relieved that he managed to save Chleo in time. Otherwise, he dared not imagine it.

The two of them were still hugging each other to soothe the fear they had never felt before. They had no recollection of the gala show in Washington, for they had only one thing in their mind at the moment. They were both grateful that Chleo was still alive and be with each other.

Unknown to them, the long-awaited Chleo West of the Regnz family finally appeared and greeted them. However, contrary to the original plan that Chleo should not appear on stage, Dietrich invited her on the stage and introduced her as the leading designer of the jewelry for tonight's event.

Chleo West appeared and fascinated the guests, especially the young men, with graceful movements and a sweet smile. "Greeting for all esteemed guests. My name is Chleo West, and I wish you can enjoy our show."

The applause was heard to greet the girl's simple greeting while Diego just shook his head in resignation.

(Flashback)

"Sir, I have news that the blue king has found Miss Chleo." Yuna's Vectis reported to Diego.

"Is that true? Thank goodness. Where are they now?"

"…"

"Why didn't you answer?"

"They don't exist in this world, they…."

"WHAT? You mean they died???"

"No. They are currently in another realm. I guess that the blue king brought Miss Chleo to his astral world."

"Phew… why didn't you tell me earlier?"

"…" he had tried to say it, but it was Diego who cut him off first.

"But, why did Max take her to his astral world?"

In the end, Vectis told him what he had heard from his 'informer.' He also informed that the one who kidnapped Chleo this time was not a human, but another Vectis who should not have come to this world.

This news made Diego's jaw clenched. Does that mean their real enemy is not human??

If the kidnapper was not human, Diego didn't want to tell his family about his sister's kidnapping case even more. Besides, he didn't want to involve his family as he promised Stanley.

In the end, Diego asked Vectis to disguise himself as Chleo so that the show could go on without any problems, and his family didn't need to know about Chleo's kidnapping.

This was one of the skills that Vectis had. They could change their form into a body and face that was the target of their disguise. Even the voice and character were so the same that no one would be able to tell the difference.

And the Chleo West that Dietrich beckoned right now was none other than Yuna's Vectis in disguise.

Even Diego himself was almost fooled if he hadn't asked the Vectis for help himself.

The disguise was top-notch!
