Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star

Chapter 188 - Ch. 188 Max And Diego

'The blue king's memories have returned.'

Diego read it over and over again as if his brain still couldn't digest the information from his lover.

The blue king's memories have returned? Since when? Did that mean Maximillian had remembered everything? Including when he threatened Chleo to marry him and also… divorced her when Chleo had opened up her heart to him?

Thinking of this possibility made Diego's entire body itch to beat him. Back when he punched the man when Axelard came to their house with Chleo's corpse, Diego was not satisfied with his handiwork even though he had broken the man's nose and spine.

He even wanted to kill his brother-in-law… his ex-brother-in-law, and he would have done it had his mother not stopped him.

But at least now he was grateful he didn't.

Diego didn't know that Axelard Cavendish was the blue king and if he injured the older man with killing intent, who knew what would happen to him if the man's cold energy attacked him as a defense.

For the umpteenth time, Diego reread the text. Impatient to confront the man face to face, Diego decided to reach Max, and the two met at a nearby cafe.

It was only after making sure that no one overheard their conversation that Maximillian spoke.

"I guess you came because of my memory."

"…"

"Since my memory has returned, I remember you had a lover who was a blessed child. I didn't think much of it at the time, and even if Vectis recognized me and wanted to punish me, I wouldn't mind."

"..." Diego remained silent and let the older man continue to speak.

"Are you going to beat me up like you did that day?"

Diego frowned at this. Is this guy challenging him or what?

"I know you also got your memories back. I wonder how you got the memories of your previous life, but if you have a Vectis on your side, it makes quite a bit of sense."

"..." Diego folded his arms across his chest and looked at Max in an unfriendly manner.

"You are the Diego who dyed his hair red after your sister's funeral. Am I right?"

"How do you know?" Diego asked in an indifferent tone as if he was the least curious about the answer.

"That time, you mentioned Axelard Cavendish's name. No one knows the name Axelard Cavendish other than people from past lives."

"I think I was quite careless."

"Or you did it on purpose," added Maximillian as he took a leisurely sip of his coffee. "You wanted to warn me. That's why you threatened me that day. Is not it?"

Diego snorted in annoyance and settled down his arms on the table.

"What would you do? I warn you, if you ever threaten my sister again, this time I will not only break your nose, but I will bury you alive."

Maxmillian smiled as his eyes stared at his coffee cup with renewed hope.

He knew the boy's threat meant nothing to him. He could have come out of the grave in a snap of a finger, and yet the boy's threats seemed to give him courage.

"Thank you. I need it."

"Are you crazy? You need my threat? Why?" Diego could not understand this man's line of thought.

Max put his coffee cup back down and looked Diego straight in the eye.

"Don't worry. I won't make the same mistake twice. I won't use my power to threaten your sister for my own sake. This time I will properly make her happy."

"But why do I see the doubt in your eyes?"

Maximillian just smiled faintly at that and then looked outside the glass window. "I doubt about something else. You don't have to worry about it."

"Whatever. You still haven't answered my question. What are you going to do after this?"

"I'm going back to England."

"What? Are you going to leave my sister again?"

"No. I got a warning." Max took out a reddish-black stone and placed it on the table.

"What's this?" Diego moved one hand to reach the stone. "Ouch!" but he immediately pulled back his hand with a frown. He felt like he was touching a heated pot on the stove.

"The meteorite stone belongs to the flame king's astral world. The united states are not my territory, and it looks like I'm being evicted."

"By whom?"

"Who knows. It could be from the other ruler or from the rogue Vectis. If I don't return soon, my astral world will be destroyed with the appearance of many stones like this. If it happens, my power will be useless, and I won't be able to protect Chleo. So I have to return to England as soon as possible."

Diego took a deep breath feeling suspicious that someone was deliberately keeping Max away from Chleo. No. To be precise, someone didn't want the blue king to protect Chleo.

"Diego, if I go back to England, I won't be able to teleport to America for a while. I can't protect Chleo from there."

"I know. Tsk. My sister doesn't live in New York with us either. It would be tough to protect her. Don't we have any other help?"

"Yellow King."

Diego was stunned to realize he had forgotten this one fact. Right. There was still one more on their side. Although Diego did not know the identity of the current yellow king, at least he knew that the yellow king was one of his cousins.

"Do you know the identity of the yellow king?"

Max shook his head. "I do not know. But he will help Chleo. At least I'm sure of that."

"Okay. Then I will increase the cyber security around my sister. Though it won't be much help if our enemy is Vectis, at least I'll know right away if something goes wrong."

"Great idea." Max nodded once in agreement. Then he smiled a little, remembering something.

"Is there something funny?"

"No. It's the first time we've spoken at length one-on-one like this."

"And I don't like it." nevertheless, Diego still sat there while enjoying his fruit juice.

What a dishonest boy.
